dune Posted 9 February, 2010 Posted 9 February, 2010 When Luton Town played at Wembley they were prevented from getting extra tickets for their fans because Sc unthorpe sold their tickets haphazardly throughout their half of Wembley. Please ensure that Carlisle and the competition organisers do not make this mistake again. It would be a travesty if Saints fans who wanted to go to Wembley missed out because of a repeat of this c ock up. See link: http://www.lutontownsc.co.uk/cgi-bin/coranto/viewnews.cgi?id=EkFZlkuyVuAGZYCyyM Wembley and the football authorities have deemed it necessary to hold back the balance of the tickets for segregation purposes. It appears the problem is that they have not followed their own selling guidelines and have allowed the sale of a small number of tickets in the lower half of the stadium, which affects the segregation of the balance of the stadium I've lifted this info from a post by BingoBob, but as it's very important thought it deserved a thread of its own.
Matthew Le God Posted 9 February, 2010 Posted 9 February, 2010 (edited) Saints could sell close to 50k possibly imo Mr Luker should remind them it is 90k and that if Carlisle take 30k, the other 60k should be left free if Saints need them. Edited 9 February, 2010 by Matthew Le God
vince Posted 9 February, 2010 Posted 9 February, 2010 I think this is quite an important point, 'cos it's obvious we can sell a significant amount of tickets for the final and many more than Carlisle. If it were Leeds, then between us, we'd sell it out roughly equal, but I can't see them selling 1 for every 2 we could sell.
PaulSaint Posted 9 February, 2010 Posted 9 February, 2010 Cant we offer them our stewards to help segregation? We did this at Villa Park in 2003?
jasoneuelllfanclub Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 carlisle will take 25k max. so as long as segregation arranged with this is in mind we should sell at least 50k. FA should give carlisle initial batch of say 20k and see what the demand is after and if they sell that lot.
Pilchards Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 They split them last year as they based it on equal rights, it was a surprise to Wembley how many Luton shifted. This time they know we have a large fan base and will act accordingly, I have no doubt we will get 50k + Gonna be the biggests travelling of away fans to Wembley ever. good stuff.
Scudamore Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 Must people always get so bloody twitchy about ticket allocation? If somebody really wants to get a ticket for the game they will. In fact i'll be looking to go with some mates of mine who aren't Saints fans.
Mmm Donuts Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 I went to the final last year as my best mate is a Luton fan. It was a great day only marred by the amount of empty seats 'cos it is a mighty big stadium. The Luton fans were outstanding to be fair. As for David Luker, on my dealings with him, he is very good at his job.
Paul Chuckle Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 Isn't there thousands of club Wembley holders???? In which case it isn't the case of splitting 90k tickets between us & Carlisle!!!!
The9 Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 Isn't there thousands of club Wembley holders???? In which case it isn't the case of splitting 90k tickets between us & Carlisle!!!! I checked this after the Norwich game. JPT games, shockingly, are not on the preferred list of Club Wembley events. It is a straight out "full capacity minus a few FL reps" situation. There will be nearly 90k tickets available between the two clubs - provided they get the segregation right. As Carlisle have already played in the JPT Final they'll have a good idea of how many they'll bring, we should get the rest, pending segregation - and as a new stadium there should be plenty of capacity splitting options. Last season's allocation was 50/50 and sold in batches, with the lower tier filling up before the middle then the top - it would depend on pricing of course - but from what I read, Luton didn't sell out their half (top tier) anyway, with a couple of blocks of the top tier seats left - so God knows why they were whining about Scvnthorpe not filling the place. I can see us getting 50k seats. PS I'd like to take this time to say to the bloke in the corcourse who didn't believe me about no away goals and pens in the JPT Area Final... "trust me"
The9 Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 Must people always get so bloody twitchy about ticket allocation? If somebody really wants to get a ticket for the game they will. In fact i'll be looking to go with some mates of mine who aren't Saints fans. I think it's more a matter of people wanting to get as many in as possible than making sure people can actually get tickets. Frankly I'm telling anyone who hasn't been all season and is barely a fan that I can get them one for about £100, but given the prices last year that won't be much of a mark-up for some seats ! Obviously this is just to discourage them from hassling me, the right person can have my spare, though most of them were there last night anyway.
dune Posted 10 February, 2010 Author Posted 10 February, 2010 Last season JPT final ticket prices were £50, £40, £30 and £20 depending on where you sat. So prices to suit all pockets.
hamster Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 Excuse me Carlisle fans, but we appear to be considerably richer than Yow.
NickG Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 should we suggest that we have all of the tickets?
Joensuu Posted 11 February, 2010 Posted 11 February, 2010 Looks like it will only be around 40K. The club should put pressure on the Football League asap to try and avoid another c*ck up like Luton S****horpe. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/5000631.Saints_in_line_for_40_000_Wembley_tickets/
