BARCELONASAINT Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 Great result! Effing awful football from two effing useless teams devoid of even the most basic ideas on how to play football. Entertainment? My Rrse! Kick and Rush Up and Under Get stuck in! Give me Strength! Jan please come back... Ah! but I forgot, it's all OK as long as we win. Don't know what game you watched for the first 40 minutes!!! After that i agree we went completely off the boil.....but hey ho we won and thats what counts when you are 90 mins from a Wembley appearance!
Deanovski Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 More reality altering he did not make the first goal and would rather he had Lambert's finishing ability or even Lallana's for all his industry. He is supposed to be a striker after all and not a winger. wrong again NC?
Wes Tender Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 Ottery you dumb fool don't believe all that is written on here either listen to the commentary or read the professional reports not those trying to support their own arguments with lies. Our first goal came courtesy of our Crazy Gang approach and nice touch by Lallana to Lambert. If I remember correctly Lallana deftly controlled a well timed pass by Kelvin. Papa's involvement was to watch in awe. Well, you don't remember correctly. It was an assist by Weigo, not Lallana. But then again, you seem to have memory blanks over a number of other things too. Shame that because you were confused about this, it has clouded your judgement of the part that Weigo played in this win. I'm not dour about the match. I enjoyed it immensely. Perhaps you didn't see it clearly from where you were sat, so both your view and your judgement have been clouded. Again.

I thought it was Lallana who assisted and so do the OS but I was unwrapping my sandwiches and reaching for my flask at the time. Edited 10 February, 2010 by Nineteen Canteen
Nineteen Canteen Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 Papa, Papa, papa.....Lovely through ball......Nice touch 19:smt052 You have such a way with words:rolleyes: Advantage to the otter;) And you have a way with emoticons. Nice to see such youthful expression but in my experience posters who favour them as liberally as you tend to spit their dummy out eventually. Night, Night, sleep well.
shurlock Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 I thought you were going to support Arsenal? They're not going to Wemberlee this season

I thought it was Lallana who assisted and so do the OS but I was unwrapping my sandwiches and reaching for my flask at the time. Goals up on the Saints Player - 100% Papa's assist - did all the hard work to first beat their defender to AL's cross and then deftly flick the ball to Lambert who was running on.
Wes Tender Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 I dont understand how anyone can get Lallana mixed up as they dont look very similar. I disagree. It's an easy mistake to make really. They are both wearing red and white striped shirts, for a start and both wearing black shorts too. They both have short hair too. See, it's becoming harder and harder to tell them apart already. I was right behind the goal in the Northam and had a perfect view, but Nineteen was probably watching them from a much further distance and possibly behind them, so the mistake is excusable.

Like the way the media initially credited one of Papa's goals to Hammond in an earlier round!

Greenridge Posted 11 February, 2010 Posted 11 February, 2010 I dont understand how anyone can get Lallana mixed up as they dont look very similar. I guess it helps to be at the game and clearly NC wasn't judging by his comments which are lifted from the internet reports rather than through his own, some might say blinkered, eyes
Nineteen Canteen Posted 11 February, 2010 Posted 11 February, 2010 I guess it helps to be at the game and clearly NC wasn't judging by his comments which are lifted from the internet reports rather than through his own, some might say blinkered, eyes I was there in the front rows of the Kingsland / Chapel wing. Change of a scene for me and Wes is probably not far from the truth and if you read this thread it's full of fan's different perceptions which are often innocently wrong. Lets face it I wasn't the only one who got it wrong and if you had been there or the goal made / scored in the opposite corner of the ground those in the lower rows of the Northam may have got it wrong. Being a member of the attendance police is a position adopted by those unable or afraid to make their own comment or as an excuse to berate those who do. I don't know Greenridge but my guess is you attend the Rose Bowl more than you attend SMS and I doubt your commitment to Saints in terms of time and money is a match for mine but I may be wrong, just a perception you understand. If everyone took your stance on the post match reaction threads it would be as popular as a 4 day county match at the Rose Bowl in our wettest summer. Some us don't post for plaudits or see it as a popularity contest but simply to post their honest opinions and occassionaly they can be proven to be wrong but in such a subjective matter that is rare. Pity one of the forum owners can't see that but that again is a feature of the puerile nature that sometimes pervades this forum and why it will never get its paid up membership remotely close to match the number of season ticket holders.
Smirking_Saint Posted 11 February, 2010 Posted 11 February, 2010 I wonder if you wish to alter reality to suit your own agenda. Lallana set the first goal up somewhat more memorable than Papa's glaring miss in the first half not unlike his miss from 2 yards in front of the chapel the other week - can't remember the game so won't make it up. Yeah, about that altered reality ??? Actually seen the goals yet ??? Or where you too busy thinking of your next intented target ??? I must ask NC, have you ever played football ?? As if you could not see the contribution that Waigo made on Tuesday than i really doubt your overall footballing knowledge. I do understand everyone has an opinion and i do try to accept everyones but unfortunately you constantly attempt to make your little points against the grain which is a real shame as you do at times post some very valid points.
RedAndWhite91 Posted 11 February, 2010 Posted 11 February, 2010 Highlights up on the Beeb: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/8509478.stm I had to laugh at Lallana's celebration. Firstly, what is he doing? And secondly, what the hell is Waigo doing?!?! Absolute comedy gold. Worst celebration ever.

Worst celebration ever. Lallana clearly tried to slide on his knees like he usually does, but the ground was too dry and he just fell over. Worried about Papas reaction though. Having said that, Waigos reaction after the first goal - quality! Makes me think he'd be happy to sign permanently.

I get the feeling Papa suddenly realises how it looks and then feels slightly embarrassed Yeah agree with you there, brilliant to see such passion from the players.
