dune Posted 8 February, 2010 Posted 8 February, 2010 Ordered my Pompey ticket on Thursday morning and hoped it'd arrive the next day. It didn't. Expected it to arrive Saturday. Still no ticket. Thought it was bound to arrive this morning. No ticket. When played Stockport the ticket didn't even arrive and had to get SFC to send a duplicate up on the team coach. Tickets used to arrive really quickly, but now the service is crap. Has anything changed? Are we using a new call centre or something? Has anyone else noticed how the Ticket Office is not as good as it used to be?
JRM Posted 8 February, 2010 Posted 8 February, 2010 if you turn up at the game and there is already someone in a Royal Mail jacket sitting in your seat you will know why

dune Posted 8 February, 2010 Author Posted 8 February, 2010 could it be wight of numbers wanting same thing plus other tickets. I'm not being funny but a ticket office should be capable of dealing with ticket sales. It's hardly rocket science to put a ticket in an envelope and put it in a post box.

The point i'm making is that things are not as good as they used to be. SFC's ticket office used to be superb.
Michelle Posted 8 February, 2010 Posted 8 February, 2010 You'd have thought people might be a tad more patient at the moment bearing in mind: - we've not exactly had a great deal of time to sell the Skate tickets - we also have the small matter of a cup area final to contend with sales for - there are a lot of new/ temp staff in at the moment to deal with the volume of sales for the above two - away tickets seem to be going on sale with less than 4 weeks to spare Not that the above excuses any other problems (had it myself in Dec, got all the way to Leeds only to be told there was no ticket there for me, and had to pay again to get in - refund sorted promptly by Mr Luker the following Monday) however under the circumstances they're doing as best they can. My Skate tickets took 4-5 days to arrive, and I bought them online the day they went on sale. Chill.
saint_stevo Posted 8 February, 2010 Posted 8 February, 2010 not got my skate tickets yet. If it gets to thurs i might get a bit twitchy

astrasri Posted 8 February, 2010 Posted 8 February, 2010 So much negativity, something like 56000+ tickets to process in not very time. I ordered my tickets for pompey on day 1, haven't got them yet, e-mailed the ticket office over the weekend and got a positive and polite response this morning. It will be a pain having to queue on sat am for replacements if they dont turn up in the post. My booking had problems from the beginning, but the ticket office staff did exactly what they promised to do when they said they would. The system (IT or otherwise) might be suspect, but the staff in the office I think I think are top class!

What members want here are generalised one line, black or white, statements that involve the words, crap and wink [mispelled], and which whitewash an entire procedure when staff are probably trying their level bestto fulfill the demand.

In addition to the two big cup games, there is the linked games for the Skates tickets and normal sale of forthcoming matches.
PaulSaint Posted 9 February, 2010 Posted 9 February, 2010 Why cant they ask: "Do you want to upgrade that to first class post for an extra 15p Sir" Then it should be 1 day with RM & not 2-3?
StuRomseySaint Posted 9 February, 2010 Posted 9 February, 2010 Surely there isn't a problem as long as you recieve it before the game, numptyb*llocks? I have not recieved my spare P*mpey ticket yet... I'll start to get annoyed if I don't have it by Thursday... today is Tuesday.
saint_stevo Posted 9 February, 2010 Posted 9 February, 2010 pompey tickets arrived this morning. Not bad considering i only ordered them late thurs

SNSUN Posted 9 February, 2010 Posted 9 February, 2010 I get my tickets sent through usually the day after the day after I've ordered them. I've not had any trouble. That said, the Skate tickets took an extra day or two, but I'm not totally suprised by that.

Alain Perrin Posted 9 February, 2010 Posted 9 February, 2010 Sorry that you missed the match. You must be gutted.
Nineteen Canteen Posted 9 February, 2010 Posted 9 February, 2010 (edited) Having watched Channel 4's Dispatches programme last night on the Royal Mail with two under cover reporters posing as agency workers I am surprised there are not more complaints but hardly one you can direct at the ticket office. I doubt this is an issue with regard to the ticket office as in all my time of dealing with them i have never had an issue of receiving tickets by post. I noticed my Pompey tickets took a few days longer to arrive than my MK Dons tickets but not excessive and maybe with the rising postal costs perhaps if time allows they send tickets using second class post. The ticket office seem to be open for longer hours these days so if you have a known problem and live in the area, why not go in person or buy a ST so that you have a greater window in which to buy your tickets? Failing that complain to the ticket office, treat them the way you would like to be treated and I am sure they will do all they can to help. Probably more beneficial in the long run than moaning about it on here. Edited 9 February, 2010 by Nineteen Canteen
Hodgey Posted 9 February, 2010 Posted 9 February, 2010 I left early this morning so no idea if they have arrived or not. I called the TO today and had a most grumpy woman explaining to me how they had to deliver MKDons tickets first - I know what she was trying to say but the way she tried to explain it made it sound like the lunatics had taken over the asylum. To stop impatient people like me phoning up and wasting their time, why not put up a notice on the official site that tickets for P*mpey booked on Thursday may not arrive til Tuesday. Isn't that the point of a website ? to communicate to fans ?
