I've been looking forward to this week for ages. We've got the big match tonight with a Wembley match and trophy at stake and another big match (on my birthday ) on saturday.

I now have full on man flu.

On my way back from uni now, cannot wait for this one. I havent been this excited about a week of football since the play offs. (hope this ends a little better than that did)

Also just wondering, is Papa the current highest scorer in the competition? i cant find it anywhere.

COYR lets do this

I know it's bad, but I've put a tenner on MK Dons to win tonight, mainly beacuse:

a) I never win

and

b) It will take a tiny bit of the sting out of missing out on Wembley.

Could be a win-win situation for you if MK Dons win 1-0 and Saints win the penalty shoot-out :)

That's not bad - it's a sensible insurance policy. In fact I've done the same myself. Though I'm not sure I can bring myself to insure against derby disaster by betting on Pompey for Sat...

Not curious at all, the game was originally on 16th at 7:45, then moved to 9th at 7pm "in case it was on tv" - which also doubled as a method of freeing up 16th for a rearranged match or FA Cup replay, then when Sky decided to show the North Area Final instead, they moved it back to the normal 7:45pm kickoff.

I don't think tickets were available when the date was intended to be 16th, so the only tickets out there will have one of the two kick off times on the 9th on them depending on what the anticipated ko time was when they were issued. Mine's got 7pm on it as well.

Yet weirdly the Leeds game is on TV and is also a 7.45 ko! Bit of a mess all round really.

Didn't buy tickets when it was 7 because couldn't make it from work, and only realised too late that it had been moved again. Did the poor sod who'd booked hotel rooms etc for original date ever hear back from the club?

Anyway, give them a shout from me.

I just hope we well those last 3000 seats on the gate tonight...and make MK look like a tiny insignificant blip in the corner of the stadium somewhere...

...oh, and that we win of course :)

Both teams have a fair few players out, but really we've got to go through now having done the hard part in the first leg, since then taking their best player, and them also having their top scorer injured...

They do, but we had the same players out for the first leg as well.

With their problems, I'm cautiously optimistic now, whereas a couple of days ago I was fearing a ****-up of epic proportions.

Why is everyone nervous?

Christ, they are rumoured to be heavily weakend and we are at home, one game from Wembley.

Because it's a funny old game that's why!! Stupid funny old game...we drew with Torquay (after 90 minutes) in this competition when the odds were against that result.

Who knows what'll happen tonight...hopefully it'll be the predictable outcome

Great news - really will sum it up nicely to that plastic empty crappy little club that this is what it means to follow your team through thick and thin

I am leaving work in a minute and then driving down, in good time to have a beer. Starting to get nervous but still think we will win. COYR

I have a feeling these 'nerves' are going spread through the ground.

Oh and please, nothing about Portsmouth tonightttt. we can laugh and point at them Saturday.... well if they turn up.

It doesn't have to be 1-0, if they win by any margin of one goal it would still go straight to penalties, there is no away goals rule.

Given your location I think it's only fair that you collect and bring down all the MK support tonight. You'll still have enough room on the back seat for a case of tinnies for the trip back.

What is it about football... I'm nearly 50 years old and have been supporting Saints for over 40 years, and I still feel nervous about tonight... Flaming football why couldn't I have got passionate about something else like basket weaving. :-)

I know we are the home team and MK are weakened and everything....but this is Saints and i still remember watching us play Tranmere and what happened that night :(.......PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Saints don't **** this up tonight....plus its my sons 16th today and i want him to remember it for being the day he watched Saints progress to Wembley :D

BBC website has the MK Dons assistant boss listing all their injured and cup tied players. Their top scorer - Jermaine Easter - is out and their Spurs loanee, Andris Townsend, is cup tied. They have 3 others definitely out with a further 5 rated doubtful.

Worth listening to the clip of Robinson included in that article - he is seriously upset about the way Saints celebrated the win there, seriously upset that we have a squad that cost "£10 million pounds" (he obviously has inside information on all those 'undiscloseds') and seriously upset that we bought Puncheon.

Seems a very annoyed little man (seem to remember he got a little annoyed in the league game at SMS!) and I reckon our players are in for a rough ride tonight.

Also reckon most of their claimed 'injuries' will heal by tonight.

Christ, I hope the players have a bit more bottle than some of you lot!

Alot of them have only been here half a season, a couple of seasons at best.... We have supported them for years, we know what has happened in the past...

But that has nothing whatsoever to do with tonight. It's pathetic.

The day there is no nervousness at all at SMS on an evening of this magnitude after a few iffy results is when AP/NC have finally established the winning mentality in and around the whole club. Not quite there yet, but a lot has been achieved.

I cant wait to get down the ground I have been like a cat on a hot tin roof all day PLEASE PLEASE lets do these and get to Wembley havent been this nervous since Sheff utd at home what i wouldnt give for a couple of early goals so we can get the place rocking and enjoy it.

If we get the result we need it will take the pressure off for Saturday and we can really enjoy taking the P1ss out of the Fish Fiddlers.

COYS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got nothing to do with bottle, it's got everything to do with years of watching Saints shoot themselves in the foot......

That said i obviously believe we will win tonight and i so hope we make an easy job of it and not put us through the mire!
