GenevaSaint Posted 8 February, 2010 Share Posted 8 February, 2010 Hi, my little boy wants his b'day party @ SMS. Anyone had a party there for their kids? Worth while? Entertaining?
Dimond Geezer Posted 8 February, 2010 Share Posted 8 February, 2010 Had one their about 6 years ago. I was a little disapointed to be honest. We had a mini tour of the stadium, basically just the changing rooms & team benches (dugout in the dell days). Then went over to the concourse behind the family centre and the kids took some shots at a goal, then it was up to the community room where we were pretty much left on our own to play on table football & had food, that, incidently, we had to prepare ourselves. The kids enjoyed it, but to me I felt 'short changed'. I would have liked to have seen a bit more behind the scenes, such a one of the suites, maybe the manages offeice & boardroom, and definitely the trophy cabinet (no matter how enmpty it may be :smt086). for_heaven's_Saint Posted 8 February, 2010 Share Posted 8 February, 2010 I had one at the Dell too. And have also been to at least one at St Mary's (when I was about 11). For kids, especially those who are Saints fans, it's great! A chance to look round the stadium and even have a jog around the pitch, so I think your son and his mates would enjoy it. Can't say I was really old enough to be thinking about how good value for money it was though! One thing that did dissapoint me is that at the Dell, they used to have an indoor football room where you actually played a few 5/6 aside matches, where as at St Mary's it was just kicking a ball at a target thing. Still fun when you're young though!
hamster Posted 8 February, 2010 Share Posted 8 February, 2010 Had my daughter's wedding reception there a couple of years ago, was not good but it was under a different regime. I suspect that if we'd had those same 'issues' now though, she'd have been given a free ST for life, or at least as long as the marriage lasts. One piece of advice I would give you though is to arrange it when Herbie is working. Herbie = Legend.
