Their fate will be decided this week so what do we really want to happen

To Pompey?

There are mixed emotions on this board about Pompey but would you really wish them to be wiped from the earth or would you want them to survive?

Personally I want them to survive but punished sufficiently to be taken down a few pegs.

Without them there is no rivalry,no excitement and no banter, without doubt we are the superior club in all departments except league status but that will come in the very near future.

IMO This will be their darkest week capped off with losing to a mid table league one team in the FA cup.

Very mixed

Living in Fareham i have lots of blue friends, and to the ones that didn't gloat when we were in danger and ones that i know have followed them for years and are decent people i wouldn't want to see them go under, i know how i was feeling last year when the chips were down for us.

For the glory hunting ****s that have latched onto them and have called me and the kids scummer often then i wish nothing the misery they are in now, but these people will wander off and support the top 4 again

A win next weekend will erase alot of bad memories from a few years ago and will ensure that the car sleeps in the garage for a few weeks after

we want them to come back fighting in CCC- you are joking?

Obviously you didn't get involved in the thread around November-December time. Fighting is an emotive word. Surviving and playing in the Championship, then.

And yes, this could all be said in the proper forum for Portsmouth FC talk.

As long as they exist for Saturdays game, I don't care what happens to them afterwards. No fan deserves to lose his club, but even if they do go out of business, they'll still exist in some low league or other, perhaps as a different entity, but still Portsmouth.

As a Footbal Club I would like them to survive and I think that whatever happens there will be a footbal club in Portsmouth as Wimbledon have demonstrtaed albeit under different circumstances.

As a Ltd company I would say that the odds are 90% liquidation as the Admin route assumes there are saleable assets that can be realised as a going concern. They have none.

If their current management think that they can still avoid relegation and hence not enter admin then they are betting their future on being allowed time by the Court on Wednesday. They will lose and be IMMEDIATELY liquidated. Hence no game Saturday.

That my friends is what will happen

Relegation on merit and 10 point deduction next season is as far as I want it to go - and then hope they just stay up so that we get 2 games against them the following year. Don't care what anyone thinks, wishing a club into extinction is sick. There but for the grace of god etc.

When this whole saga began, I wanted them to be relegated after a hasty fire sale and possibly get some points deducted in the CCC after entering administration. They could then start on a relatively level playing field as us and the derbies and the banter could recommence once more. However, the longer this has dragged on and the more the club appears to have lied, and yet the PL continues to support them, the more I just want them to go pop. I feel for the genuine fans but the way the club has conducted itself, with barely a slap on the wrist, is shameful. I hope they're put into liquidation on Wednesday now.

That said, I still believe they won't be. Somehow they will worm their way out of it.

As long as they turn up with at least 11 players on Saturday so that we can shaft them I really don't give a toss what else happens.I'm not obsessed with PFC,just beating them one more time.In fact it would be a warning to all other investors" do it right or don't do it at all".Anyway someone will bail them out, plenty of dirty money that needs laundering around .

i literally want them to no longer exist, i want to find out that the high court has ruled they need to cease to exist, i want to read on sky sports that AFC portsmouth are being entered in the dr martins southern league or whatever it is ...i want to see pictures of women and children crying in their portsmouth shirts on south today, and fred the skate dinage to make some cheesy one liner about it but actually be sobbing to himself deep down, quite frankly, portsmouth fc will always exist in some respect, either our memories or some afc pompey so i dont care that they get the closest thing to obliterated, the more destroyed they are the better..

What is the most likely outcome????

Hard to say. I can't see anybody with their head screwed on wanting to buy a debt-ridden, loss making company with terrible facilities. But, there are some mad people out there.

Personally, I want them to survive (as in as a club, not in the premier league) as I don't think football would be quite the same without our rivalry. Plus, we were there ourselves not too long ago and I wouldn't wish it on any set of supporters, even them.

Aye.

They didnt give a sh*te what happened to us.

I just hope you lot going to the game have a song based on "The way to Amarillo" to sing.

I don't want to see them gone totally but it would be nice if the Premier and Football Leagues came to some arrangement where they are immediatly demoted and suspended from competition for the rest of this season, giving us a bye into the next round.

Perhaps Nicola could offer to pay some of their debts in return for our two clubs swapping places, yes with only fifteen points we would be relegated from the Premier at the end of the season, but we would still have achieved promotion to the championship. I'm sure that i've heard of one team buying anothers league position in the past, but not sure whether the football league have now changed the rules on doing so.

Please guys, don't mention that f**king song ever again, it brings me out in cold sweats and I develop an irrational urge to become deaf whenever I hear it's name, let alone hear the song, bas*ard tannoy and dj at that dump have scarred me for life.

Local rivalry is a healthy pastime and should be just that........at the end of the day they have a lot of long term loyal supporters who have supported them through thick and thin....they deserve a break.

Feb 10 will give us all an idea of where the club will go in the short term, and relegation seems the minimum right now.

For both side to be in the CCC in the next 2 years would bring a good local contest on a regular basis that most fans would welcome

Can Poopey be given a 10 point deuction in the CCC if the "offences" happened whilst in the Premier League? Aren't they 2 separate organisations with different rules?

I'm not fussed 1 way or the other about them folding - as they were the same about us and there'll be some ropey AFC Poopey type club to hate in a few years' time. I just really really want the match to go ahead on Saturday (not least coz I've got a hospitality ticket and paid the non-refundable train ticket price!) and no "last minute scrappy goal" (why would you want that Thorpe-Le-Saint?) but a proper 4-0 or similar win where we run the game and play decent passing football for the cameras.

Too much to ask? :D

You can't buy a league position, you've never been able to. The rules prior to 1992 were that any merger (for example) would take the league position of the lower placed club, and even post-Prem with the FA valuing money over making fair rulings for the benefit of football, only the extremely unfortunate Wimbledon situation regarding Merton Council allowed a place with NO club to adopt an existing one.

As for Amarillo, your feelings are my feelings, and that's why we should reclaim the song for our own purposes on Saturday.

Something along the lines of "shanananananana and the Skates are going bust" should do it nicely, much worse than just being relegated...

Other teams in a similar position have been given more time, and I fully expect that to happen to Portsmouth:cool:

This is the crux of the matter - the Prem has a 9 point deduction but no rules about dodging an "effective" deduction, so my money is on them going in Admin when already relegated, for which there is no Prem punishment - unlike in the FL where as we all know if you're getting relegated anyway they will hold -10 over until the next season.

So they take the -9 despite going into admin, they've been punished, and according to their own rules the FL can't punish them unless they stay in Admin for a full season.

Though of course the FL kinda wangled the rules to punish us, so it would be interesting to see what happens - if they survive that long.

Personally I think there's a very good chance HMRC might just decide they can't make the tax payments and the new owner isn't reliable enough to sort out a schedule, and they could go under completely within a month even with an appeal.

Indeed. In the end, we were lucky. Wishing extinction on another club, despite it being the closest rival, is not on.
