Saint_clark Posted 7 February, 2010 Posted 7 February, 2010 At the game V Stoke apparently a mass riot broke out in the away concourse, with bottles etc. being thrown. Then one complete mong decided to throw a metal bin in amongst the crowd, hitting a man and knocking him out. He was taken to hospital and SSN is reporting that he died either last night or this morning. Really shocked tbh, how could you possibly want to do that to ANYONE? There is no way Blackburn fans will be allowed to travel to Turf Moor now. RIP.
S-Clarke Posted 7 February, 2010 Posted 7 February, 2010 shocking - heard it on the news earlier http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/staffordshire/8502701.stm according to this, the guy who potentially did it has been arrested though.
Saint_clark Posted 7 February, 2010 Author Posted 7 February, 2010 Rubbish. Excuse me? It's been confirmed.
Colinjb Posted 7 February, 2010 Posted 7 February, 2010 I was at the Brittania yesterday and the Blackburn fans where extremely lively all game and very, very angry. When Allardyce walked off at the end of the game a shower of debris was thrown at him, the stewards presence around them was something you would normally only expect for a local derby. Murmours where floating around the corporate lounges afterwards that there had been an incident and an injury, horrible that this has been confirmed. My thoughts to the guy's family, sounds like he was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, if the guy did throw a metal bin then he should be looking at a decent stretch for Manslaughter.
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 7 February, 2010 Posted 7 February, 2010 Excuse me? It's been confirmed. I think that Dog, in his traditional ******ish way, was trying to make light out of a situation that does not warrant any type of humour. I believe he was trying to be 'funny' by using 'rubbish' as a pun as he was killed by a bin.
Um Bongo Posted 7 February, 2010 Posted 7 February, 2010 Do we know he was killed by another fan though? Un-offically, i've heard the bloke may have tried to head the bin as it was thrown in the air - Just seen it on other forums thats all.
RedAndWhite91 Posted 7 February, 2010 Posted 7 February, 2010 http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/07022010/58/premier-league-blackburn-fan-dies-injuries.html Head injury and a cardiac arrest. He was only 30. 25 year old man taken into custody.

I don't think it's funny that the man has died. Don't shed anymore tears over him, I doubt he would for you. X X . Edited 7 February, 2010 by Dog Forgot the kisses

Fans fighting their own fans and then someone dying as a result does not happen all the time

Or are we all to care just because we know someone might care back..? Being caring in a selfish way..? Not really the right way to view things, is it.
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 7 February, 2010 Posted 7 February, 2010 Perhaps it's time somebody had a change in attitude then. Or are we all to care just because we know someone might care back..? Being caring in a selfish way..? Not really the right way to view things, is it. It's been like this for many years sadly. A culture of self, self, self. Yet a little unconditional compassion might go a long way? Somebody has to start the ball rolling!
Smirking_Saint Posted 7 February, 2010 Posted 7 February, 2010 Jesus christ it was a small joke, some people really need to take their head for a sh*t.
Dog Posted 7 February, 2010 Posted 7 February, 2010 Jesus christ it was a small joke, some people really need to take their head for a sh*t. They do have a point though. :smt086
St Landrew Posted 7 February, 2010 Posted 7 February, 2010 (edited) Jesus christ it was a small joke, some people really need to take their head for a sh*t. Sometimes it's a good idea to make a serious point amongst throwaway jokey talk. It tends to make people sit up and think a lot clearer than when it is buried within other serious points. Besides, if you want to joke, small or not, go to TMS. Edited 7 February, 2010 by St Landrew
benjii Posted 7 February, 2010 Posted 7 February, 2010 I thought it was quite a funny joke. That doesn't preclude me from feeling extremely sorry for the man, his family and friends etc...
Crab Lungs Posted 7 February, 2010 Posted 7 February, 2010 ****ing hell, Blackburn's fans are right tw4ts... Rioting and throwing debris at Allardyce because they're like, er, 14th in Premier League. :S
