Red Alert Posted 7 February, 2010 Share Posted 7 February, 2010 Just about to start on SSN....if anyone is interested. Hope we get Scotland and Wales in out group. Not much other chance of ever playing them in a competitive game. Would be nice to give them both a spanking.

Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 7 February, 2010 Share Posted 7 February, 2010 I shall look forward to the trips to Wales, Switzerland and Bulgaria, I'm sure flights (obviously not to Wales) will be pretty easy to get hold of!
Gully Posted 7 February, 2010 Share Posted 7 February, 2010 Tough? No disrespect to the other countries but we should win that group without having to break into a sweat. True, the world cup qualifiers showed that with a top manager we should breeze qualifying. Just hope we still have cappello.
hamster Posted 7 February, 2010 Share Posted 7 February, 2010 I want Switzerland to win the group as a thank you to my dearest darling Markus. We could all stop in your alpine mansion praps? You provide the fine wine, I'll bring some quality 'smoke' and Dog can bring his new bird (hopefullly she has a Mum and some sisters too).
JackFrost Posted 7 February, 2010 Share Posted 7 February, 2010 Switzerland - good side, believe they are the only team ever to go out the world cup without conceding a single goal, topped their group to qualify for the World Cup. Bulgaria - Mr Berbatov and co., the away game in Sofia will be very tough. Wales - On their day they could trouble us Montenegro - The toughest 'minnow' we could have drawn, they have a few class players like Jovetic and Vucinic Under McClanger we would have struggled to qualify, but I'm quietly confident that capello has the nous to see us through

SuperMikey Posted 7 February, 2010 Share Posted 7 February, 2010 I can see us all qualifying form the groups, where's the finals being held? Poland and Ukraine are joint-hosting. Means that they both get byes straight into the finals. Personally I can only see England qualifying easily from those groups, Northern Ireland will have to be very good in order to qualify past Italy, Slovenia and Serbia, and I can see Wales losing out to Switzerland. Scotland is another thing however, because with Craig Levein now in charge it'll be interesting to see how the team plays with him in charge. Hopefully we'll lose the negative, defensive football that Burley played and look to score goals and dominate play a bit more like we did under Walter Smith and Alex McLeish. Czech Republic and Spain will prove very stern challenges, although Lithuania and Liechtenstein will be easier I reckon.
hamster Posted 7 February, 2010 Share Posted 7 February, 2010 Poland and Ukraine (i think) odd pairing For many reasons I would love to visit Poland, not least because my Grandad came from Krakow. Lot's to see around Krakow too. I was thinking of going there for my 50th, but if JT's army can do the business I may bring it forward. For the first time in a long time I am now interested in how Engerlad do.

hamster Posted 7 February, 2010 Share Posted 7 February, 2010 /\ Yes. I think that all of us SWF members with Polish lineage should hire a bus and go. I don't mind driving the first bit.

Minsk Posted 8 February, 2010 Share Posted 8 February, 2010 Booo! I wanted England (or at least one the 'home nations') to come to Belarus again. Instead I will have to go and see them lose to the frog eaters. England should win this group though. As for the drive to Poland mentioned above, it's a very easy drive to do. The roads are great, right up until you actually get into Poland!
