saint lard Posted 6 February, 2010 Posted 6 February, 2010 Well i'm bloody excited about that fact. Would be great to see swathes of Saints fans travelling up there. JPT or not, it is still a massive day. We can beat MK Dons, can't we? I was so proud that day at the Millenium Stadium,i really want the chance to emulate that feeling and atmosphere. Let's be positive.
InvictaSaint Posted 6 February, 2010 Posted 6 February, 2010 I wholeheartedly concur my friend; when was the last time we had anything like this to get excited about? This could be a big week for us, so yes indeed, let's be positive and enjoy life rather than looking for the dark clouds on a sunny day. Life is too short.
S-Clarke Posted 6 February, 2010 Posted 6 February, 2010 JPT or not - wembley is a great day out and it will be fantastic when () we make it. It's still going to be tricky though - MK Dons come into this game with nothing to lose, so expect them to attack for fun - we'll have to be at our best at the back (i expect harding and Jaidi will be back?) looking forward to it though - will be good to see a near on full house for a mid-week game!

I 100% agree with that there saint lard Mate as I think that we will beat MK Dons n get to Wembley and we will do it if we play Harding and Jaidi/Perry with Fonte I think we will be Fine but we will see ! Come On Saints!
hamster Posted 6 February, 2010 Posted 6 February, 2010 Do away goals count double or would any aggregate draw mean Extra Time after 90 minutes?
Glasgow_Saint Posted 6 February, 2010 Posted 6 February, 2010 We need something from this season. JPT is naff, but a cup is a cup
Jesus Reigned Posted 6 February, 2010 Posted 6 February, 2010 I've forgone 6 weeks in India with work and the trappings that go with it for the sole reason that I would have had to have flown out the day before the JPT final. We'd better bl@@dy get there now!!!
Block 5 Posted 6 February, 2010 Posted 6 February, 2010 A positive thread! Let's all get behind the team FFS.
saint lard Posted 6 February, 2010 Author Posted 6 February, 2010 We need something from this season. JPT is naff, but a cup is a cup It's not just the chances of 'lifting a cup' though is it. The day out,the build up,the atmosphere and all that goes with it,imo.
SparkySaint Posted 6 February, 2010 Posted 6 February, 2010 Do away goals count double or would any aggregate draw mean Extra Time after 90 minutes? Away goals do not count double. A 2-1 or 3-2 win for Mk Dons would take it to penalties. I think we'll win this one 3-0. Expect Lallana to get on the score sheet
dune Posted 6 February, 2010 Posted 6 February, 2010 I had planned on attending this game, but since then we drew Pompey in the cup and i can't afford to travel to this game aswell. If anyone needs a ticket then drop me a PM and i'll give you the order number and relevent details so you can pick my ticket up from the ticket office free of charge.
sifter Posted 6 February, 2010 Posted 6 February, 2010 I'm not able to get to the ground on Tuesday - anyone know if its being televised or streamed? Sky seem to be showing the Leeds match
RedAndWhite91 Posted 6 February, 2010 Posted 6 February, 2010 I hope we win so we don't have to put up with the crap from certain posters afterwards. A trip to Wembley wouldn't be all that bad either I guess. Looking forward to it, COYS.
Arizona Posted 6 February, 2010 Posted 6 February, 2010 We need something from this season. JPT is naff, but a cup is a cup How is it naff? It may be naff for a Prem side, but we are competing with equals. If we were to win this competition, we'd have beaten Norwich, Charlton, Dons and possibly Leeds along the way. Not to mention Torquay.

Teams dont take the JPT cup seriously - we do ( I question why ) Luton are the holders and they were relegated from L2 last season. We mocked the skates for celebrating the Asia trophy - JPT is equally pointless.

We mocked the skates for celebrating the Asia trophy - JPT is equally pointless. Because it is silverware, something we have been starved of for so long. It is also a trip to Wembley, and the players see it means a lot to the fans, for this reason. Luton had a massive points deduction, they still did well to get to Wembley and enjoy their day out in an otherwise horrible season. JPT isn't pointless, we are League One now, and the whole point of this cup is to let these lower league teams, ourselves included, have a day out at Wembley and lift a cup, cos let's face it, no team from L1 or L2 is going to win a major cup anytime soon.

Matthew Le God Posted 6 February, 2010 Posted 6 February, 2010 180 minutes away from Wembley in the FA Cup

It would be a great day for everyone at the club.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 6 February, 2010 Posted 6 February, 2010 But you will still go...you plastic... Surely you will stay at home and do your usual whining behind your keyboard No I will go - come on it's Wembley! Will be a good day out. Maybe we should all meet for a pre match pint?
Block 5 Posted 6 February, 2010 Posted 6 February, 2010 No I will go - come on it's Wembley! Will be a good day out. Maybe we should all meet for a pre match pint? :smt052 Group hug!

Glasgow_Saint Posted 6 February, 2010 Posted 6 February, 2010 :smt052 Group hug! Happy clappers and trolls together forever
SFC Forever Posted 6 February, 2010 Posted 6 February, 2010 I predict we will beat MK Dons this week. I will enjoy my 4 tickets to Wembley. I shall cry in my milk when the blue army start laughing at us after the game.

We mocked the skates for celebrating the Asia trophy - JPT is equally pointless. It's probably because we're all happy clapping tw*ts with no ambition. Pardew out.
Saint_clark Posted 6 February, 2010 Posted 6 February, 2010 No I will go - come on it's Wembley! Will be a good day out. Maybe we should all meet for a pre match pint? WTF why do you want to get to the final of this mickey mouse cup?
explorer saint Posted 6 February, 2010 Posted 6 February, 2010 Big game in regard to knock on effect for saturday, getting to wembley will set us up so well, dare I mention it but if we go out on tuesday then I think our season could be over as our heads could be down, christ hope not, as no chance of play offs
Glasgow_Saint Posted 6 February, 2010 Posted 6 February, 2010 WTF why do you want to get to the final of this mickey mouse cup? Dont slag of the JPT cup!
Saint_clark Posted 6 February, 2010 Posted 6 February, 2010 Dont slag of the JPT cup! We should be top of the league by 2000 points by now, not worrying about some sh*tty tin pot trophy FFS. Pardew out.
hamster Posted 6 February, 2010 Posted 6 February, 2010 This may well turn out to be the most exciting week of the season, it may ed in disappoiuntmenbt, but until it does I am lapping it up. Three days of Cup Fever, followed by 4 days of Cup Fever. Can't be bad by my reckoning. And who knows, this time next weel we may be wetting ourselves at 'the week that was'. In years to come we will be able to say to our Grandkids and Great-Grandkids those three immortal words. "I WAS THERE"
Glasgow_Saint Posted 6 February, 2010 Posted 6 February, 2010 We should be top of the league by 2000 points by now, not worrying about some sh*tty tin pot trophy FFS. Pardew out. Dont slag Pardew off
Dr Who? Posted 6 February, 2010 Posted 6 February, 2010 I cannot wait until Tuesday, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not screw this one up Saints!! What a day out it will be. Looking forward to this more than anything else this season!!
hamster Posted 6 February, 2010 Posted 6 February, 2010 Can we play 2 goalies and 9 defenders for this one please?
paulwantsapint Posted 7 February, 2010 Posted 7 February, 2010 Am really looking forward to JPT Leave all the skate hate at home & positivly sing our hearts out to get the team to wembley with a good result Then lets all go home take shed loads of throat medicine to get our voices back for sat morning then rest our voices after sat night
Toadhall Saint Posted 7 February, 2010 Posted 7 February, 2010 I get a feeling that a lot of people think we are there already. The 90 minutes will not be easy.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 7 February, 2010 Posted 7 February, 2010 I get a feeling that a lot of people think we are there already. The 90 minutes will not be easy. Not me mate...it will be a tough, tough game. I reckon we could be a bit nervous so an early goal for us is needed to settle us down.
dune Posted 7 February, 2010 Posted 7 February, 2010 If we play Carlisle in the final we'll probably be offered 50,000+ tickets. Would we sell them?
Arizona Posted 7 February, 2010 Posted 7 February, 2010 Can we play 2 goalies and 9 defenders for this one please? When has that tactic ever worked for Saints? We're not the Greek NT, let's attack FFS!!!!!! :snipe:
alpine_saint Posted 7 February, 2010 Posted 7 February, 2010 In the grand scheme of things, yesterdays underachievement is more important.
Block 5 Posted 7 February, 2010 Posted 7 February, 2010 In the grand scheme of things, yesterdays underachievement is more important. In the grand scheme of things you won't be at Wembley.
saint lard Posted 7 February, 2010 Author Posted 7 February, 2010 In the grand scheme of things, yesterdays underachievement is more important. You can't change what happened yesterday. Yes i am disappointed with not getting a win but we don't have a god given right to steamroller everyone just because we have spent money. I for one am enjoying all things SFC at the moment, considering where we have been recently i will lap it up for now. Come next season however i will expect great things from AP and the squad he is assembling, but for now i will take whatever comes our way. And if that is a trip to Wembley and all that comes with it that will more than suffice....for now.

John McAndrew Posted 7 February, 2010 Posted 7 February, 2010 it will be a great day out if we get there....missed the last couple of finals for one reason or another...in the last few years of doom and gloom this is something for us fans to look forward to...COYS
