Glasgow_Saint Posted 19 February, 2010 Author Posted 19 February, 2010 Because you've written off the season solely on the basis of recent form. If we beat Norwich, it'll prove that recent form doesn't always guarantee future results, and therefore cannot be used to write off the outcome of 18 forthcoming games of football. We proved that a few times this season - play well for a couple then get beaten (ala Brighton at home)
Glasgow_Saint Posted 19 February, 2010 Author Posted 19 February, 2010 Change the record. I take requests......
Legod Third Coming Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 I take requests...... 2010 form is as follows: WDWWDWDWL I would think that's about as good as any team in the country to be honest.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 19 February, 2010 Author Posted 19 February, 2010 2010 form is as follows: WDWWDWDWL I would think that's about as good as any team in the country to be honest. Yep nobody can compete with that kinda form. Ooops except the ten teams in L1 that have better form than us over the last 7 games. Millwall, Norwich, Colchester, Huddersfield, Leyton O, Brentford, MKDs, Carlisle, Brighton
Glasgow_Saint Posted 19 February, 2010 Author Posted 19 February, 2010 Past 7 games we have picked up 9 points - same as Tranmere!
Scudamore Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 what exactly are you proposing we do about it then?
Glasgow_Saint Posted 19 February, 2010 Author Posted 19 February, 2010 what exactly are you proposing we do about it then? win more
Scudamore Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 win more how are you proposing we go about that then?
Stu Man Do Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 win more I wonder if the coaching staff have thought about this revolutionary change? Thats exceptional Glasgow! Pardews team talk on sat; "Right lads I've decided how we sort our season out ... you'll like this idea I nicked it off the SWF ...We should ... wait for it ... win more games!!" ;-)
Dig Dig Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 Past 7 games we have picked up 9 points - same as Tranmere! ok Glasgow you win..... I was enjoying this season but your persitent and well thought out arguments have won me over. Saints are **** and AP is **** and rather than wasting my time going to any more games I'll come up there and sit with you and we can listen to the Solent and post on here during and after the games about how awful our form is. I say let's keep getting new managers in until they can match the form of Norwich and the second form dips below this level, we'll just sack em and get someone else in. If you're thinking it I'm sure NC is as well, seeing as you two are kindered souls and all
Glasgow_Saint Posted 19 February, 2010 Author Posted 19 February, 2010 how are you proposing we go about that then? Play better? note being smart here. Not really sure what you want me to say?
Thedelldays Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 how are you proposing we go about that then? stop changing the team so much..play your best players in their best positions

You too will be able to forge a successful banking career for yourself, earn millions, persuade a Swiss billionaire to take over a club on the brink and then run it yourself. Let me know how it goes won't you
Legod Third Coming Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 Ill take 6 off if/when it happens Then shut the feck up and wait for all game to be played eh?
Glasgow_Saint Posted 19 February, 2010 Author Posted 19 February, 2010 Then shut the feck up and wait for all game to be played eh? as always - golden post
Legod Third Coming Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 as always - golden post I'm here all week.
Scudamore Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 Play better? note being smart here. Not really sure what you want me to say? What i want is for you to bore off. Either give me a solution to our apparent woes or shut the f::ck up.
doddisalegend Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 stop changing the team so much..play your best players in their best positions Problem is "best players" is subjective what you, I and AP think are the best players in the best postions could well be different. The difference is AP see the players all week and knows who's performing in trainning. I see the players a couple of times a month, and from your posts I think you see them even less than I do (correct me if I'm wrong). So whose in the best place to judge who the best players are you,me or AP? As for changing the team, dammned if he does dammned if he don't. Some changes are forced cup ties, injuries etc. Mean while for every fan screaming Papa must play another one screams why the **** is he playing. If you asked on here for our best 11 you'd end up with 20+ different replies I reckon. Seems this football lark isn't quite as simple as your answer:shock:
Glasgow_Saint Posted 19 February, 2010 Author Posted 19 February, 2010 What i want is for you to bore off. Either give me a solution to our apparent woes or shut the f::ck up. Ive given you two already.
Avenue Saint Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 think we'll go on a run now and having looked at fixture list for all, the team that could keep us out of 6th is HUDDERSFIELD! Reckon its us or them if we do what we should in remaining fixtures. extremely tight. but yes, there is still a chance. A very, possible CHANCE.
Scudamore Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 Ive given you two already. win more and play better? yes very good.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 19 February, 2010 Author Posted 19 February, 2010 win more and play better? yes very good. Keep things simple!
NickG Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 Cortesse is very open with his views to the echo! This is Cortesse who stood applauding for more than the last ten minutes of the JPT final - he loves it! But feel he will always want more, which is a good thing. think most supporters would agree with his views. (not echo's stirring)
AndyNorthernSaints Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 Keep things simple! Like you then WUM?

AndyNorthernSaints Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 Is NC a WUM? http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/sai...nder_pressure/ You need help!
NickG Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 As Glasgow struggles to find quotes over the last months to back up anything he thinks AP or NC say, thought I would help; When asked by reporter for his thoughts on week ahead He said - that whilst a trip to wembley and progress in fa cup are nice things to have the reason for serious investment in the team is about getting into the league one play offs its our top priority, the latest league results have not been satisfactory against that objective and he looks forward to the team getting back to winning says against Norwich on Saturday.
Village Saint Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 Reason: 11 wins in 28 Where is this winning mentality AP chats so much about? Poor season! Only just seen this. Very dodgy maths. Last 28 = 19W 5D 4L. Best record in Division One. Just what more are you expecting? Of course for AP to magically have changed in retrospect the results in the early part of the season when he had a team hardly of his own making; with no proper pre-season; and frankly a losing mentality carried over from the previous regime.
hughieslastminutegoal Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 This season should have been fun. Spent millions but seriously under-performed. 11 wins in 28 is not good enough for a L1 side with so much quality. So much quality since when, exactly? Since we bought Lambert? Since we bought Connoly (injured)? Since we bought Fonte and Barnard (a tiny handful of games ago)?

Over the 28 games that Glasgow slates AP we have the best record in the league?
Glasgow_Saint Posted 19 February, 2010 Author Posted 19 February, 2010 not checked, Village is that right? Over the 28 games that Glasgow slates AP we have the best record in the league? Take a look at the league - do we have the best record in the league? PMSL

Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 Is NC a WUM? http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/sai...nder_pressure/ No, but also doesn't spend his time trolling on forums. Link doesn't work btw.
Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 so is this right, and Glasgow totally wrong? No, that's incorrect. In the last 28 League games we have: Won 11 Drawn 11 Lost 6
Legod Third Coming Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 Yep nobody can compete with that kinda form. Ooops except the ten teams in L1 that have better form than us over the last 7 games. Millwall, Norwich, Colchester, Huddersfield, Leyton O, Brentford, MKDs, Carlisle, Brighton That's our 2010 form including playing one Championship and one Premiership team... Find me a better form team than that in any league... go on, you've obviously got no life to enjoy...
doddisalegend Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 so is this right, and Glasgow totally wrong? I believe Glasgow only counts league results if you add in cup games then it's correct, of course cup games don't help in the league. In reality both sides here are showing the figures that back up their arguements. We have won more than Glasgow says however his is correct the extra wins don't help the league results. I suppose it depends on weather you think a season is just about the league. For myself I like a good cup run, winning a cup would make me happy. If however all you want is a quick return to mid table obscurity of the EPL then the cups are just a waste of time. Just ask NC;)
Secret Site Agent Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 win more and play better? yes very good. Keep things simple! The GS school of football. I'll help him out here. What Saints need to do is: 1 win more 2 play better 3 Keep things simple 4 Score one more than the other team 5 pass the ball 6 Defend 7 Save shots 8 When we get a corner, kick it in the area 9 Buy more players 10 Sack all managers that fail 11 If we lose, restart the computer and reload the game 12 the team to eat less pies 13 Score penalties 14 Save any penalties that the opposition try to score 15 When we are winning, don't lose. 16 When we are losing, score more goals and go on and win 17 When we are drawing, score more goals and go on and win 18 The FA to allow us to have our 10 points back And based on this, the Glasgow Saint method, means that we will win all games, win automatic promotion and continue to be masters of the Premiership. Meanwhile, in the real world, the rest of us are a little content, but more constructive with our critisism as we strive to improve.

Secret Site Agent Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 Is NC not living in the real world? Is AP? Both are not happy with league form and both have said as much last 2 weeks! Yes they are, as they are slightly content, and they are striving to improve. Both of them have made mention that they are not FULLY happy that even though we have done well in the cups, they wish us to improve in the league, and there is work to be done to achieve this. There is no overnight success to be had here, but a lot of hard work, especially to integrate 5 strangers into becomming part of an established team. I just feel that you want success, at any cost, cus we spent loads of dosh, and we have the best squad. Except for the world beaters that we could have had, but Daddy megabucks was too tight to buy, so only spent money on cheaper alternative, that aint up to it. Great teams aren't built overnight, nor are they bought. And succesful teams are more than their component parts. Talent will only get you so far, you need heart, belief, trust in those around you, understanding of each others strengths and weaknesses, and someone to take the lead and push you outside your confort zone and to challenge you to better youself. At the moment you and I are poles apart, but given a month together and someone to coach us effectivly, we could convince anyone on here what the way forward is for Saints without arguement

I am not twisting any words, you are the one that twists the facts to fit your argument, (I'm suprised you haven't pulled out THAT link to THAT one edition of the local paper who twist facts to fit THeir agenda). I just never see anything constructive, nor positive, just negative, single line argument with the 'Because I say so' defence, without any independant evicdence. You need to look with better eyes than that, and be more constructive than that. And I believe that NC and AP are more like minded with me, than you. We have all said we can do better. Where have they said we are under performing, without expansive recorse as to the way forward. And, I do believe there is a certain amount of 'information/disinformation' in what they release to the press.

SAINTS chairman Nicola Cortese has told manager Alan Pardew the club's league form must improve. with nearly £2m thought to have been spent on players in January alone - and the reason for that was so Saints would make the playoffs. Also, Portsmouth dont owe the HMRC £ 11m because Storrie said so in the News once. Based on this what must AP not do to not achieve the target set by the board? And based on his comments to be given more time to achieve the boards targets, what must must he not do, to achieve the converse target.
