I stopped believing we would make the play-offs when we lost to Colchester. But that doesn't mean we can just accept losing and drawing in the league does it?. Compared to the other teams in the league we have spent much more. When you spend money it brings high expectations with it. Even if we took away the -10 we would still wouldn't make the play-offs. So that is why some people are ****ed.

 

I'm not suggesting to sack Pardew but we could be performing better in the league. I'm delighted with the progress we have made in the cups. But what if we get knocked out by Mk and Pompey next week?.

 

Pompey should beat us, but if we also fail to reach Wembley then it'll be a disasterous week.

Not a great season. Disappointing

 

Much worse than last season for sure...

 

Only lost a handful of games, won something like 16 of the last 26.

 

In with one genuine, two potential chances of Wembley.

 

And now looking forward for the first time in seven years.

 

Feck me, Care in the Community has a lot to answer for.

The JPT cup final - surely not!?

I doubt there are many that expect us to beat Poopy, they may, like me hope beyond hope that we do. As for MK....well now, it's half time, and we're looking good.

Lets face it one minor problem is Pardew just needs to be a BIT more attacking at times. In reality with the -10 playoffs were always a longshot, but who realistically expected that? it took Leeds 3 seasons to go up (thats if they do this season)

 

We're not losing games I think teams are playing for draws against us at there place, and we have to start breaking them down a bit better.

 

Alpine/Delldays/Glasgow Saint/Saint Stevo they can moan all they want on here but LETS face it they don't even go to games yet post on websites like they know ALL about Saints and the way we're playing. There opinions will NEVER be respected because quite frankly they're useless.

 

Take those 4 away and most people have common sense and realistic expectations. It's healthy to have debate but the negative moaning brigade are actually bordering on the insane.

 

Anyway COYR lets beat Pompey & the Dons!

didn't we have a vote on where we thought we would finish and the majority thought mid table.

 

I think that we have got to enjoy the stability of this year that we have been crying out for over the last three years, and will be in better shape for real go at it next season as a better team.

 

I do think that AP needs to think about balance he seems to be trying to wok out who can do what and how they all fit in mix, it's a lot harder as a mgr when you have so much choice.

 

stay with it, more frustration I am sure as our expectation grow.

i don't think anyone is ''happy'' with mid-table - but it's a case of having perspective and looking at the bigger picture, rather than quick snapshots of everything.

 

i.e - we've won 2 games 3-1, we'll win the league. We've lost 2 games 1-0, we're getting relegated.

 

i've accepted top half mid-table, i said it at the start of the season. That run we had in November/october raised the bar - but we're still not a bad team now, we just had too much to make up at the end of the day.

Lol. I'm hard in front of it too. But then you tend to need to be in the SAS. ;)

 

Have they moved the training from Hertfordshire to Putney then? Crikey, must be a lot easier now than when I did it... ;-)

if you think pre-season is just about playing friendlies, you have alot to learn!

i agree about asking questions - i'm not happy with today tbh, and i'm not happy with Jaidi/Harding not being in the side for no apparent reason.

 

the time to really judge pard's though will be next year, i'll just go with it this year and see where it takes us.

Must have missed that. Why did they have points deducted? Norwich started the season with Bryan Gunn that was their problem. Agree though that Lambert is doing a very good job, as he did at Colchester. Our problem still remains though that on top of the 10 point deduction we had a very very poor start to the season, and we have never really recovered. Until today the play-offs were still achievable, it would have taken a hell of a run but was achievable nonetheless. But without a win today and with other results going against us the reality is that the play-offs are gone. We will be very lucky now to finish higher than 9th.

just as an exercise I read the last pages of the second half threads (?) , the last one typical, 'Danns scores, at least we have Puncheon' followed by rolley eyes thing.

So all of a sudden Danns has become some kind of hero and Puncheon not rated. I doubt most on here have seen either player live once ot twice. Danns didnt want to come, why should he drop a division?Puncheon should not be compared to a player who is looking to play in higher leagues not ours.

This forum seems to have certain people who dont go but want to moan constantantly. If we are still performing like this next season, then I think the moaners have a right to moan, but I doubt ML will sit and do nothing so they should sit back wait and then get ready to moan because they cant get a JPT final ticket

Why does it matter how much we spent this year?

 

Say over the 5 year plan, it was always agreed to spend £12m.

 

1st year - £3m

2nd year - £2m

3rd year - £2m

4th year - £2.5m

5th year - £2.5m

 

etc.

 

Now, those wouldn't be hard and fast budgets, if the players became available at a particular time, I'm sure the club would have gone for them by adding to one season budget and taking from another?

 

These players weren't brought in for the sole reason of getting out of League One at the first attempt, or else we'd be buying another XI for next season which is ridculous. They were brought in for the future, and because they were available now.

Not moaning GS (I do see you are trying to be amusing, not Lenny henry are you? winky thing) but pointing out that we have a small number of people who still think that we should beat all comers. Every game we play the opposition up their game a little. as we are 1 of the teams they really want to beat. Yes Leeds also, but they have taken 3-4 years to adapt. I understand we have spent a bit of money, but that is from a very poor squad who let us down in the past. Connolly is still having trouble with an injury and so is being rested as a precaution.He has been out for a few years so lets not rush him,aka Killer.

As a s/t holder I am enjoying this season more than i have for sometime and whilst we are not playing the good football we were earlier in the season we are starting to gain confidence as a club again.

The arrogance of some of our fans that we are better than yeovil or Exeter is surprising, they also are in the same league as us and have earned their right to play us.Show some class and respect all the clubs in our league
