Dog Posted 6 February, 2010 Posted 6 February, 2010 What was the highest mountain in the world before Mount Everest was discovered?
hamster Posted 7 February, 2010 Posted 7 February, 2010 I almost searched for this Dog, then I realised that you were being unchracteristically clever. Mount Everest was still the highest mountain before it was 'discovered'. It was always there wasn't it
badgerx16 Posted 7 February, 2010 Posted 7 February, 2010 But where is the point on the Earth's surface that is farthest from the centre of the planet ?
bridge too far Posted 7 February, 2010 Posted 7 February, 2010 But where is the point on the Earth's surface that is farthest from the centre of the planet ? Any point - the earth's a globe, or hadn't you noticed
Marsdinho Posted 7 February, 2010 Posted 7 February, 2010 But where is the point on the Earth's surface that is farthest from the centre of the planet ? There may be higher mountains than everest under water, but I would say that the peak of everest is still the furthest point away from earth's core.

badgerx16 Posted 7 February, 2010 Posted 7 February, 2010 Any point - the earth's a globe, or hadn't you noticed No it is not, technically it is an oblate spheroid, fatter around the 'waist' than it is top to bottom.

Marsdinho Posted 7 February, 2010 Posted 7 February, 2010 OK, I had to cheat and look it up..... "The summit of Mount Everest reaches a higher elevation above sea level, but the summit of Chimborazo is widely reported to be the farthest point from Earth's center despite a possible challenge from Huascarán. Chimborazo is one degree south of the equator and the earth's diameter at the equator is greater than at the latitude of Everest, nearly 28° north, with sea level also elevated. Despite being 2,581 m (8,568 ft) lower in elevation above sea level, it is 6,384.4 km (3,968 mi) from the Earth's center, 2.1 km farther than the summit of Everest."

Julian H. Cope Posted 21 February, 2010 Posted 21 February, 2010 Mephedrone? Has anyone tried it, apart from Deppo. Get yourself on the Baby Bio to start with.
SuperMikey Posted 21 February, 2010 Posted 21 February, 2010 Mephedrone? Has anyone tried it, apart from Deppo. Supposedly it's quite like coke. You talk sh*t all night and gurn like a muthaf*cker if you're not careful. I've not done it though because i'm a good boy.
Big John Posted 21 February, 2010 Posted 21 February, 2010 Your chemist can supply much safer alternatives than these disgusting chemicals. Don't do drugs!
