As an aside. There was a guy sat behind us at a game last season who actually cried when Saints scored ( sorry can't remember which game). Turns out he was from Oz and that was the first time he had seen Saints score " in the flesh". He was only over for the weekend ( those on saintslist will know who I am refering to).

Who says overseas fans aren't as passionate as us more local.

If you need tickets Tim drop me a mail and i'll see what I can do.

I can't take some of the replies on this thread seriously. "You should'nt have moved": what are you, peasants who've tilled the family farm for years, or some inter-bred family who've lived on the Flowers estate for 5 generations? As for more deserving fans; the average crowd this year is about 20k. So plenty of others coming out of the woodwork for this.

As DubailPhil says, many of us have been supporting saints for years and, as season ticket holders originally at The Dell, have been to hundreds of matches (home and away). Lets have a bit more generosity of spirit and acknowledge we're a wide spread family and our desire to get to see the Saints is a great thing and not something for sniping.

Well said. Tim isn't moaning he's desperate for a ticket. Hope you get one Tim.

Great post Col. If you're struggling Tim drop me a line.

I have several other people lined up for my spare ticket but i reckon you deserve one before those guys.(not least for your prolific writing on all message boards)

Do you honestly think you are deserving of a ticket?

There are many more people who have been to games home and away who will not get a ticket but just because you live in the US you get special treatment. Well done.

Point is and as docker has already said, the way the club is selling them may prevent people getting tickets-you have to wait until the 10th to get extras on your season tickets-leaving precious little time to dish them out to fellow, fans who live far and wide.

The skates are having a field day, insisting we can't sell out for "our cup final"

Yeah...like I haven't tried that, maybe if you were to spend more efforts comprehending stuff and issuing 'infractions' for more offensive stuff e.g. bigotry then it might dawn on you.

You better watch out for the massive fry on Timothy's shoulder that obscures his vision.....

Hopkins, give it a rest. You have made your point now head back under your bridge and go and annoy some billy goats.

Tim, there are plenty of regular posters on this forum who will go the extra mile to ensure you get a ticket, myself included.

Keep us apprised, and rest assured that one of us will come up trumps.

Not particularly with the club, I do understand the need to ensure the right people receiving tickets. However, have written to Luker/Luker's staff, the ticket office, management and even Cortese/Cortese's administration staff and have drawn a 100% blank trying to get tickets for a couple (at least) of us LA Saints that want to go to the game.

I am now barely a week away from the match and the flights are becoming more scarse and a lot more expensive FFS. The last thing we need to do is to make a ****load of arrangements, pack, lose a day flying there at great expense just to sit in the Avenue Bar and watch it on TV for Christ sake. The game (most likely) will not be on the TV here, so this diehard Saint will be reluctantly listening to the fading in and out crap 'Saints Player' with commentary from that muppet and Uncle ("we really need a second goal") Dave at 4 in the frigging morning....

Like I said 'disappointing'.

You could have just added this to one of the other ticket threads. You don't always need to start your own thread, otherwise you might be accused of attention seeking.

Well I am not moaning, bluntly 'seems', 'assumes', 'maybes' and 'I thinks' just ain't moaning, that's you guessing. The comments above were quite clearly addressed as a response to someone that had made three seperate posts on the subject and was actually initiating a response by stating he travelled 50 miles and chose not to further himself going to the US, right.

I have not been asked but inundated with requests for me to get Big Ron back here and it's a long process. For what...so that all the Smart Alecs could type 'well I've been to several games this year and he may well have played a few years ago, but screw him as I deserve to be at a game more than him'. I get it, Ron won't.

Please don't patronise Ron. We're all big fans here and I don't think people would appreciate your tone. Just because Ron is ill, doesn't mean he is incapable of understanding stuff.

If you are not on the database you don't get a ticket. It's a pretty simple system.

Besides, there are shed loads of people not on the database that deserve a ticket before you do. Mainly because they probably go to more games than you.

Serves you right for living in LA.

Nasty person.

Don't worry too much about it Tim. Come over for more important games this season, if we can get a result today there is still a good chance of getting to 6th and winning the play-offs, then we will get to play the Skates twice next season, and even better we won't have to give them our home gate receipts (that assumes they still exist of course). Frankly in my view for the sake of our season MK Dons is more important, but not as important as Exeter.

Have you tried contacting Pompey, maybe they have tickets, their lot can't even fill a shed for a Prem game this season. I know it would be awful have to sit close to a Bellend, or even W******d, but might be an option. Surprised Saint Nic hasn't come through for you though, seems like a guy who really understands cases like yours. Good luck with the project to get Big Ron over here, no way on earth I will miss a chance to see him at SMS.

Not whingeing? Your last sentence used the word disappointing. mate - I've been to 7 games so far this season but can't make any of the 'linked' games as I'm working all of them. I'm not prepared to spend twice the ticket value just to secure a seat for Pompey so I'm hanging out for the off chance I'll get one next week.

Lovely that your're excited about the game but there's thousands of Saints fans who are much more deserving of tickets than you are. If your love for Saints was that big you wouldn't be living thousands of miles away.

Don't get carried away with NC's gestures - lovely as it is that there's a baby with a free life long season ticket it doesn't mean everyone with a story will get looked after.

Bottom line: go to games at SMS on a regular basis - you deserve a chance to go to Pompey game or JPT final (if we get there). After that no-one's really bothered

Well it is not even clear we are going to sell all the tickets!

My Uncle can't get a ticket. He went to loads of games in the 70's and 80's including the stamford bridge stampede and the Marseille Mayhem. Heck he even bought Russell Osman a pint. Trouble is he lives in Bitterne so i've had to explain that he really can't moan about it until he moves abroad. He's now relocating to Canada in the hope that someone can offer him a ticket.

LOL!! Stalker alert. Brad are you going? Or is a little far, most likely a little scary too huh? Never mind, you can stay up there and monitor posts closely waiting for y'hero to come back and make your day...see you still haven't forked out the massive 5 quid to join this excellent forum. Must be frustrating for you knowing you can only punch you bilious hatred in 3 times a day PMSL

Drop me a PM next time I'm over and I'll come there and by you a Starbucks.

Gotta say thanks to so many people. Yeah there are those (and they are absolutely entitled to their opinions, yes even you stalker Brad) that have been pretty anti, hey, that's life. Some just want a row tbf, well a 'cyber' row that is.

I have been completely overwhelmed with offers of kindness. As a group we should be very proud of ourselves, the kindness of Saints fans is huge (and global). I can now easily get a ticket due to your help. Replies on here, PMs, e-mails, I have even received a phone call from one of the over a dozen fellow posters that have been here to LA and stayed with me.

The flight prices have changed up to a grand and more, plus most flights now require a stopover in Philly or NYC. I can only afford to be gone from Thur night 'til Mon due to business committments, which was always the case but now is more challenging due to flight availability.

My original post was 100% about the disappointment of not being there - the difference a Saints fan feels between being AT the game, a game that makes our pulses race and listening to it fade in and out on a 'less than average' internet feed. I had totally resigned myself to NOT going. I was not asking for help, tickets and least of all sympathy, au contraire! So you've been great!!

Now have the option of going, also got notification from Rut and from our guy at Fox Soccer Channel (whose program director incidentily is a Saint) that FSC will show the game, live in high definition at 4.30am. So if I am in Cali, Florida on business or hopefully make it home one way or another I will get to see the game at the very least.

Finally a big 'cheers' from a very happy, far-flung Saint and like I said this was all about being disappointed and never a whinge at the club or fans.

Note to all those holier-than-thou uberfan negative posters:-

Part of being true Saints fans is looking out for each other; Tim has looked out for the big fella, many posters are prepared to do the same for him.

Watch and learn!

quick question (as i have been wondering this for my nephew) ...can you buy a ticket for a future game (not the one linked to the Pompey match) and ask to be put on the database . Then go (say a day later) and buy one for the Pompey/linked game?? Does anyone know if this is possible?

It's got to be worth a try.

It's got to be worth a try.

maybe something that Tijuana Tim could try also.....for the sake of an extra tenner (just buy a junior ticket in The Chapel for the game that you're not really that bothered about, and then for the Pompey game, upgrade it to whatever stand you want and age category you actually are)

SEEMPLES!!!!! :)

(God, i hope that works!) [-o

edit.....just seen that he's probably not going now anyway, so scrub my first sentence!! LOL .......

I also live in the US, so by the same argument as above can people sort me out with tickets too?

Cheers.

and me.....pls. No. But might need a bit of help with Wembley if we make it.

I am unsure if Tim has decided he can afford to pay the air fare and come over......but if he does. I can't help thinking that it will be even more of a "bad day out" if the Winding Up Order scuppers the game....the ironyof it!

If your problem hasn't yet been sorted you can use my sustomer number to get at least one ticket.

If you still need one let me know on this thread so I can provide an email address you can contact me on.

How's about bringing big Ron over as well Tim?! Incidentally, did he ever play against Pompey?

Glad you've got the option of a ticket, you deserve it for all the work you've done for Ron. If you're still undecided, i'd strongly recommend attending, just to witness the new 'feel good' atmosphere around SMS; would be interesting to see if there's a noticeable difference to someone who hasn't been for a while.
