So its pretty obvious we are getting a new shirt next season that will in some way reflect the age of the. I would imaging that the club will also want to have a "special" badge for this year too, so come on, lets see what you would like don to the crest for ONE SEASON ONLY.

I'll collate the ideas into a poll at some point, all just for fun.

Original or current? :)

original.

Very important part of our history.

In fact, it should also be a 'watermark' on the centenary kit as well.

This badge should be going spare next season.

CIDAJFU?

I think they could be the next "franchise fc"...

Now where can we send them??

How about South Bermondsey as a rival for Millwall?

How about Umm Qasr Academicals, afterall Umm Qasr was considered similar to Portsmouth

Here is my effort... not that I'm that interested in changing the current design - just for fun - as the OP intended.

I love round badges for some reason and adding the stripes in maintains the "stripes" history for one season with the diagonal sash (if that is the shirt)

To me the round badge is all a bit Chelsea-Man Unitedy

Yeah I'm hearing that mate. I quite like them all the same - somehow - compact in a design sense.

So along the lines of post 3 of this thread?

Not really, no! I never have liked the football/scarf and halo part of our badge. I meant to extend the striped part of the design out to a shield shape and leave the inner St Marys bit as a round disc.

Very good, like that. The background my need to be a little lighter for reproduction clarity but very classy.

I like the fact that our current badge is kind of shaped like an anchor... a nod to the maritime influence in the local area...

... but that round badge is v nice! :)

Nice work, I have to say that I am impressed with that, I do not like the existing badge too much anyway. However, this effort is very good and prefer it over the old one.

We can't have 1885 to 2010 on the badges.

Makes it seems like we are going to die and not reach 2011.

It's a good point. We did have the years 1885 / 1985 on the centenary badge but the were accompanied by the words "Centenary Year". Maybe we should just have something like "Celebrating 125 years" under the badge. I'd actually like to see 1885 incorporated into the badge permanently.

I like it. Much better than the present one which looks tacky imho..
