Poopey Ticket update

If anyone really cared about our club, they would do anything, sacrifice anything, travel any distance to make this game. I could not bear the thought of watching Saints V Pomey on ITV in a crappy boozer or at home. These games don't come around too often and it might be the last, anyone whinging about £50, you should be ashamed. I think the honest truth is, half of you don't want to go and see Saint play Walsall, as it's not quite as glamourous. I'm surprised and a little bit disappointed we haven't sold out by now, but as long as we do on the day, that is what matters. Also, if the person next to you isn't singing, kick them until they do. We have to outsing the fishy few.

Well said Sir. I feel the same!

I really cant understand why we havent sold out yet, we had 30K for Exeter boxing day and we cant get that number for Pom**y.. Are P*mpey really that unatrractive a fixture..

There are a lot of genuine supporters who for one reason or another have not been able to buy linked tickets, ie can't afford till pay day, can't afford two games at this time or have work commitments at the linked games, etc, so expect a rush on the 10th.

i have 2 kids to look after, rent gas etc to pay and i have a pompey ticket,my kids dont go without anything(within reason) and i will allways put them 1st, i dont earn great money but your all prepaird to pay £30 for a pompey ticket, im sorry if you can find £30 im sure you could muster up another £20 its hardly a life changing sum of money, i have stoped smoking for this week to get my ticket because i the misses said i was expecting you to spend around £30 on a ticket so i said if i stop smoking this week i will save the extra ticket money, kids still fed clothed and happy, like i say an extra £20 is by no means a life changing sum of money. and to everyone saying i cant make another game, is it by chance the only saturday you can go to st marys magicly seems to fall on the same day we play pompey, sorry about the rant and to clarify im not aming this at everyone, there are alot of people with genuine reasons see you all tomorrow COYR

A lot of letters paints a picture. £20 will pay for your kids nicotine patches whilst you're saving for your ticket.

A new low Nineteen. No need and a sadly misguided attempt at sanctimonious humour .......why do you bother? Please do us a favour and keep thoughts like this in your addled brain. Do not inflict them on the forum. Thanks.

I'm trying to get some people together to go on Saturday but struggling big time! Might have to attend on my own :( Don't really fancy a game like this on my larry! Hmmmm!

Get to the game lad. This is what football is all about. A feisty local derby and a chance to get one over on them down the road. Sod the rest, if they don't fancy it its their loss. If you've not been before let me tell you the atmosphere is as good as any derby.

26,000 sold - solent this morning

These sold figures seem to go up and down like a yo yo.

Apparrently there were 6,000 left on saturday then 4-5,000 yesterday now we are back up to 6,000 again.

In know there will be a lot of people buyin tickets tomorrow but i do not belive this game will sell out now.

I've just bought this morning one for my lad who is coming down from L'boro uni for the game .... they were down to singles behind the goal in the Chapel and bits and pieces in the Itchen/Chapel corner.

From what I could make out there is zip available in Northam/Kingsland/Itchen ...

Looks like it could sell out today / this evening?

Yep, pompey is not the draw that they think they are, looking on the face of it you can see that a lot of Saints fans dont believe that Pompey are going to be around after wednesday, the MK Dons game has sold more tickets, what does that say about Pompey ???

Any one not buying tickets because they "don't think Pompey will be around after Wednesday" is quite frankly an idiot.

Just got two tickets, remarkably easy. I even phoned twice as the first time the person who's info they had was wrong so had to call back, got through first time both times.

Lady said they are virtually gone now, both tonight and Saturday. If either aren't sold out it'll be single seats, no more than 70 odd under capacity i'd say

I've been many, many times on my own. I used to bring non saints supporters quite easily, but then we used to get thrashed. Now they won't believe me that we're actually pretty good now :(

I'll be there :D

Doubt very much if there will be much trouble... British disease, 'Fear of crime is much greater than the actual incidence of crime' If you dont go to 'wrong' pubs etc. you are very unlikely to experience any trouble.

Just a few stupid kids trying to act big who will run at the first sign of anyone remotely threatening.

British disease sponsored by the Government. They want you to be afraid, doesn't matter of what, they can control you more easily if the vast majority of the population live in fear, of mad cow disease, pirates, swine flu, unemployment, biscuit shortage at Tesco, whatever, let's them do what they want.As Tony Blair said at the time of the Iraq invasion doing nothing is not an option..so the have to manufacture an excuse, sorry, reason to do something.

When I phoned there were lots of free seats in the Chapel and one left in the itchen. Everywhere else is sold out. I haven't spoken to the ticket office for a long time, but they really were 10/10. The girl I spoke to was lovely and had all the time in the world. She even let me put her on hold whilst I confirmed which block my uncle was sitting in! I'm also booked for the Itchen corner for the Leeds game :D COYR

Just got my two tickets (Senior and U12). First time I've ever booked tickets online (usually get mine mid week at TO). I can't believe how easy it was! Spoke with Ian, really nice and helpful, and my TKTS are in the post!

Young H and I will be there on Sat and the 27th!:D

"Folk Devils and Moral Panics", a study/book by Stanley Cohen looks into this, and its pretty interesting (well, relatively interesting at least) and a little bit disconcerting to realise how much of our normal day to day lives can be affected by the government / media.
