I really cant understand why we havent sold out yet, we had 30K for Exeter boxing day and we cant get that number for Pom**y.. Are P*mpey really that unatrractive a fixture..

We attract plenty of 'family-types', it is totally understandable that they may feel it's not a particularly safe fixture to got to or bring kids to.

I think they're f**king mad but it is understandable. :)

F'ing hell! I am reduced to a wreck already at the thought of not getting a ticket for this and the atmosphere will be, no offence meant, a lot better the less young families go IMO.

So it's not bad that most tickets left are due to families giving it a miss but a bleeding disaster for any of the rest of us hoping to get in if the only seats are in the family section!

I don't think any of us non-family have a hope in hell of a ticket in that section.

I have NEVER missed us playing them at home in my life (and not many at FP) so this is agonising.

Oh, and my total sympathy for Halo and disgust at Rees for his return callousness to a fellow Saint probably missing the game we all dream of cos Halo, like me, can in no way possibly afford the linked tickets.

Remember that the 'family section' is now the whole of the Chapel stand. It does not however disqualify 'non-family types' from buying tickets in there.

For a start anyone can buy tickets in the chapel stand, they advertise it as a family area but for this game I am sure there will much more atmosphere in that end than usual.

and sorry, I fail to have sympathy for people who go on about how they cannot afford 2 tickets etc etc, I am sure if you really wanted to you could borrow a £30 off a mate/family or give something else a miss over the last couple of weeks.

For me personally, the "linked ticketing" for the Skates game is extremely unfair.

I've only missed 3 Home games this season (due to being away), but in my rather dire financial situation, there is absolutely no way I can pay for another ticket for a future game at the same time. (I'll still go to said future games of course, just paying for them as I always do, at the time of said future games.) I can't really even afford the "extra" Pompey game on top of my League attendances, but how could I possibly miss that, if I was able to get a ticket?

So despite my loyal attendances all season, and for the last god knows how many years, someone who can afford to pay for two games at the same time gets the seats me, my father, and my nephews occupy at the back of the Northam almost every game.

On top of that, because they give me the money for their tickets each week, and I pay for them all on my customer number, none of them can go either, even though they've also been to many games this season too. But, somone who has the financial ability to pay for tickets to Stockport, Pompey and Wallsall (or whoever else) yet has not been to another game all season, can have my seats in the Northam. :(

Sure, I might somehow be "lucky" enough to secure a solitary ticket in some lifeless part of the ground in the unlikely event of it reaching general sale, but what would be the point in that. Anyone who stands in the Northam will understand that it is a completely different mentality of support, and sitting in the passionless chapel when I'm used to singing my heart out and having no voice left, just can't cut the mustard I'm afraid.

Pretty gutted right now; thanks Saints.

This is not meant to be a "rant" in any way, I just feel really disappointed (understatement of a lifetime) and needed to get it out.

I just hope someone at the Club might read this, and consider replacing the "linked sale" idea in favour of loyal customers for any future such occasions as this. (Perhaps based on having already show your support by attending a certain amount of games?)

Not everyone has the means to buy tickets for two games at once, or has credit facilities available to them. Which means anyone in my financial position who sometimes goes without food or heating to afford to make most Saints games, just has that dedication disregarded.

Anyway, I'll shut up now. Just beat these fishy f*ckers for me Saints!

To go without food or heating just to attend a football match is not dedication IMO but stupidity and worse if you have a family to support but I hope you live on your own. There are to many people who are on the breadline in this country but still expect 'their luxuries' even if it means it is at the expense of their own health. Cigarettes and Alcohol are the obvious examples and now football matches at the risk of malnourishment and hypothermia. Cut your cloth to fit the size of your pocket and until things improve spend your money on more important things like food. Rant over.

I'm surprised that the Social Security office doesn't run to football tickets as "essential cultural necessities" nowadays.:D

Good on ya, character building.

(particularly if it goes to a replay)

I remember as an 11 yr old kid being caught up in a punch up between Saints & Brighton fans at the Dell in the 77-78 season, I also remember being caught up in a ruck up at Kenilworth Road in the same season and the following week at the Dell we had Spurs and a Spurs fan grabbed my scarf from around my neck telling me its the wrong colour etc, my ol man lamped him out! it was character building for me thats for sure. Hopefuly no kids will witness what i did, but they shouldn't be concerned by the atmosphere in the ground, its very safe nowadays, they should take the atmosphere in and enjoy it.

Cant understand why so many people are kicking off about linked tickets! Its two games, thats it! They're not asking you to buy a half season ticket...

If the game was being played at the end of this month, i might see your point a bit more, you might be running low on cash and waiting to get paid. However, most of the people who will be attending this match would have just been paid their monthly salary a week ago.

A lot of these guys complaining will probably head down the pub tonight and spend the price of a ticket to see Saints v Leeds on beer. Then after getting a bit tanked up, they will probably be back on here later, moaning that they cant afford an extra ticket.

Im sorry, i just dont buy it!

Good move by the club, im happy to pay!

I'm not prepared to as I now live in London and can't make the other games, so I take it I don't deserve one?

No you don't!! I grew up in London and have had a season ticket travelling down isn't difficult at all, there are loads of London saints, plus more or travel further distances regularly. If you cannot do it for 2 games over the whole 2nd half of the season then you certainly fall into that category

if your not willing to part with £50 (P*mpey and Leeds games) to go then you dont deserve an unlinked ticket

I trust you were being sarcastic, because that crass statement shows your not married with children, and only pay mummy a token rent payment have have sh*tloads to p*ss up against the wall every Friday & Saturday night. When you have commitments, you will find that having £50 for a couple of tickets to go to a game, can be the difference between paying essential bills or feeding your family.

I'm a season ticket holder and I had to make a choice between The Skate or Franchise game to go to, I chose the skate game, and was fortunate that one of my associates that I sit with could not go to the Franchise game after they had purchased their ticket, and was offered one for free, but I know what it was like to have to make a tough choice based on family finances. Basically as James May would say regardless if you meant it or not is that "You are a c*ck"

How I wish that were true! I'm skint because I've just had to pay out for some repairs on my car amongst other things, that's why I'm short of cash personally. Can't remember the last time I had a nice beer! lol

My better half gets paid on Friday, hope there's still some tickets left then. But I doubt there will be.

Sorry, but the fact that I am in the middle of buying a house, including doing 8 weeks of renovations whilst already working 60 hours a week means that my weekends and evenings aren't as free as they were earlier this season when I attended most games.

Appreciate this Gonzo...My comments were certainly not aimed at everybody in general. Still, i bet you there are quite a few not in that situation who are having a good moan about having to pay out an extra £20-30 for a game such as Leeds that they might have gone to regardless.

For the most of us, we should just be happy we are even having this argument on the forum, we could have been knocked out of the cup by Bristol Rovers or Northampton, but actually we are looking forward to hopefully one of the best weeks of being a Saints fan in a long time...whether we can make the game or not!

yeah that's fine mate, I don't blame you for dedicating your time and resources to doing all of that, but the fact you clearly seem to not be prepared to go to one more home match this season means you are at the bottom of the pile for priority for the pompey game and you can't complain about that.

there will still be tickets left for next few days so you'll have no problem calling up Wednesday for one.

If you really really wanted to go you'd cough up £50 like i have. I can't make the twinned game, but sod the money THIS IS SAINTS V POMPEY.

Edit: Just read that you're buying a house etc. I take back these comments.

i think it is more down to families not going than ticket prices

Exactly..I can afford to take my 7 year old but am not prepared to take him into such a hostile atmoshere with the threat of trouble before & after the game.

But I am still going & have more money for a few more beers :p

Doubt very much if there will be much trouble... British disease, 'Fear of crime is much greater than the actual incidence of crime' If you dont go to 'wrong' pubs etc. you are very unlikely to experience any trouble.

Just a few stupid kids trying to act big who will run at the first sign of anyone remotely threatening.

I'm not complaining about not getting tickets, if I don't get them so be it, but I will be phoning first thing Wednesday.

Im taking my 6yr old for his first taste of the derby.

He already says can you smell the fish yet dad, when were off to gunwarf shopping.

The missus is not amused.

My Grandkids still believe that after each Christmas their old toys get sent to the poor kids in Pompey. I have absolutely no idea where they got that ridiculour idea from. ;)

If anyone really cared about our club, they would do anything, sacrifice anything, travel any distance to make this game. I could not bear the thought of watching Saints V Pomey on ITV in a crappy boozer or at home. These games don't come around too often and it might be the last, anyone whinging about £50, you should be ashamed. I think the honest truth is, half of you don't want to go and see Saint play Walsall, as it's not quite as glamourous. I'm surprised and a little bit disappointed we haven't sold out by now, but as long as we do on the day, that is what matters. Also, if the person next to you isn't singing, kick them until they do. We have to outsing the fishy few.

Doubt there will be much trouble as all P*mpey will be season tickets holders and not likely to risk 'banning orders' etc although I could be wrong.

I think you have just summed up my existence in three concise and somewhat brutal sentences. :-k
