Poopey Ticket update

Ha, got 2 tickets on my season ticket last week for the back of block 2, the ticket office have sent me 2 tickets each for the same seats, as we're part of a group all standing I can give the 2 spares away to mates not on the database and they can stand in with us! Looks like we'll be at least 2 over capacity! Lovely stuff!

I've been sent a duplicate ticket as well.

Just got my MK Dons ticket, block 44, row MM, right slap bang next to the away 'fans'! Cracking!

Linked sales is a crap idea though, good for the club, bad for the fans. I'm not going to pay for another league game now when i've already just bought an MK ticket and i'm about to pay for a P*mpey ticket...

I'll try my luck on Wednesday! :D

I might be wrong but I don't think the capacity for the Portsmouth game will be set at 32,000, more like 30,500 due to the extra segregation.

I was under the impression that there would be less segregation for the Pompey game than at any other home game this season due to the fishy lot down the road requesting their full allotment?

I had heard something along the lines of two columns of policemen and women? could be wrong though ...

Ticket office open at normal hours - got my Mk Dons, Pompey and Leeds tickets today at abut 5:15pm. Bloke I talked to still reckoned there was about 6K left for Pompey but soon retracted that statement, and 4k left for Milton Keynes. Struggled to find me a decent place for Pompey but got the Northam for Leeds and MK. Wouldn't pay too much attention to the numbers they give out over the phone, sounded like he was struggling to find me a seat for Pompey whilst the others were easy enough. Can. Not. Wait.

I've been telling anyone who will listen that the Portsmyth game won't sell out because of the crap ticketing arrangements.

Knowing the posters on here that'll make you a minority of one...:D

Right, spent half an hour on the dog this morning and got my ticket for the cream of European football - Walsall and Pompey.

Bad news is that I have discovered I will be working when Leeds are in town... which is bloody annoying. Still, nice to sit in an empty stadium and watch the grass grow while they sell off the bricks from Fratton Park. ;)

Just got tickets for Pompey and Leeds games. Ticket office told me that they had around 2000 left, and that it would be a sell out by some time on Monday. They also appear to be taking quite a strict line on the customer database. Would have been simpler to keep the membership scheme but just charge a nominal amount for it.

I know what you mean. I hate going to see Saints play. I expect you'll have no issue buying a ticket for the JP Trophy final though...

edit- ...should we get through of course!

I've just been down to the ground to get my ticket. There is no queue, just walked straight up. The guy on the desk said there were about 5000 left? He did not think they would last until the unlinked general sale.

That is what is scarng the shxt out of me! I just cannot afford linked tickets but will sell my soul (or my arxe) to get to the Poopey match. But I just can't see there being much chance or (m)any left by the Weds unlinked sale.

There is no way on earth we won't sell out! Some families might give it a miss but, not being insulting, that is a reason the atmosphere will be even vitriolic and superb. IMO.

I think with a big crowd on Tuesday many fans will try and pick up tickets for the skates game. If we win and play well, or even just draw I think the feel good factor will mean that the ticket sales will increase from Wednesday to Friday.

I think the Skakes game will sell out.

All in all not a bad couple of extra games bringing money into the club, and just think if we do make the final how much the club shop will make!!

COYR!!!

See how that could've been misinterpreted. Was trying to make the point that we shouldn't be forced to pay for another league game if we want to get a ticket for P*mpey. It's hard for me to get down to SMS as I work on a Saturday and Sunday, and even then I only make £1600 a year (i'm a full-time college student), of which most has to go on car insurance, petrol money and travelling to universities for open days, amongst other things such as going out from time to time. What is left from that mostly goes to the club. I've seen Saints more times this season than I have in any other season (5 so far I think), and if I end up at Southampton University at the end of the year i'm buying a season ticket so i'll be there on a regular basis. I don't claim to be the best fan in the world, I know i'm definitely not, but I was just trying to make the point that I don't agree with the linked sales policy currently in operation with the ticket sales for the Portsmuff game.

M'kay? :D

For me personally, the "linked ticketing" for the Skates game is extremely unfair.

I've only missed 3 Home games this season (due to being away), but in my rather dire financial situation, there is absolutely no way I can pay for another ticket for a future game at the same time. (I'll still go to said future games of course, just paying for them as I always do, at the time of said future games.) I can't really even afford the "extra" Pompey game on top of my League attendances, but how could I possibly miss that, if I was able to get a ticket?

So despite my loyal attendances all season, and for the last god knows how many years, someone who can afford to pay for two games at the same time gets the seats me, my father, and my nephews occupy at the back of the Northam almost every game.

On top of that, because they give me the money for their tickets each week, and I pay for them all on my customer number, none of them can go either, even though they've also been to many games this season too. But, somone who has the financial ability to pay for tickets to Stockport, Pompey and Wallsall (or whoever else) yet has not been to another game all season, can have my seats in the Northam. :(

Sure, I might somehow be "lucky" enough to secure a solitary ticket in some lifeless part of the ground in the unlikely event of it reaching general sale, but what would be the point in that. Anyone who stands in the Northam will understand that it is a completely different mentality of support, and sitting in the passionless chapel when I'm used to singing my heart out and having no voice left, just can't cut the mustard I'm afraid.

Pretty gutted right now; thanks Saints.

This is not meant to be a "rant" in any way, I just feel really disappointed (understatement of a lifetime) and needed to get it out.

I just hope someone at the Club might read this, and consider replacing the "linked sale" idea in favour of loyal customers for any future such occasions as this. (Perhaps based on having already show your support by attending a certain amount of games?)

Not everyone has the means to buy tickets for two games at once, or has credit facilities available to them. Which means anyone in my financial position who sometimes goes without food or heating to afford to make most Saints games, just has that dedication disregarded.

Anyway, I'll shut up now. Just beat these fishy f*ckers for me Saints!

so if a final ticket is costing £60+ you will miss that as well?

Please stop reffering to the seat as your seat, it isn't your seat as you don't have a ST.

Everyone knows that the only way to guarantee a ticket for a big game is to have a ST. So if you don't have one, you know the score. If you can't afford one, well that's just unlucky. I'd like to live in mansion, but I can't afford it, I don't moan about it though.

I feel for you Halo, and do agree that the way the club has chosen to sell the Pompey tickets does disadvantage you.

I got lucky - I usually buy tickets for my son and myself online, using my customer number. Yesterday I was told that I could only buy one ticket. My luck came in because my son had been in Junior Saints and was on their database, so i could get a ticket for him.

I hope you can get one on Wednesday!!

From the accounts of between 4 - 6K tickets left, Im sure that all those that want a ticket will get one...Are there any updates on ticket sales for MK and Pom*ey ticket sales.

Someone mentioned yesterday there were only 1,000 left for MK Dons, and they should sell out early on monday.

Basic maths error there.

Capacity of 32,000 minus the 6,000 left = 26,000 sold

Even if every STH bought a ticket and all the Pompey tickets sold, that still leaves 10k that were sold yesterday

I was going by the 23,000 that saints twitter had quoted as saying were sold. However looking back at it, their figures don't seem to make much sense as two posts previous to that figure (and the day before linked general sale) 20,000 had been sold. Which would have meant selling just 3k on the thursday - or 6k if you use other sources.

SERIOUS QUESTION! I ordered the tickets on thursday, the guy on phone said that the order had gone through and card fine. BUT NO money has gone out of my account for them! What do you think?

I think it will come out on Monday and you worry too much.

Surely a fan as 'experienced' as yourself would have realised that at the time of purchasing tickets for other matches you could have asked the TO to record the purchases for you relatives against their own names on the database, that way they would be entitled to buy their own tickets without using your customer number?

I really cant understand why we havent sold out yet, we had 30K for Exeter boxing day and we cant get that number for Pom**y.. Are P*mpey really that unatrractive a fixture..

Ticket buying restrictions; need to fund two games at once; same week as MKD "semi final"; some families etc will avoid due to atmosphere.

We will sell out no problem but the restrictions / costs means it will go to the general sale
