New Shirt Design Revealed??

That is 89 years out of the clubs 125 years WITHOUT that fan designed 1970's badge.

Time for a badge redesign Mr Cortese. Those that think the badge has historically always been part of the club need to think again.

36 years out of 125 years is not alot!

What? So how will anything ever become part of our tradition if we adopt your approach? If 36 years is not enough for a badge to become part of Southampton, then what is to stop someone saying in 2020, "We've only had this badge for 10 years - that is nothing! Let's have a new one!". And then in 2025 some other muppet will want a new badge and then in 2026 some other knobhead will want another new one, because, thanks to you, nothing is sacred and nothing matters. Can you explain why it is time for a change? What is your reasoning?

I don't actually like the kit though, Rabbit has blatantly robbed England's Euro 2000 kit and it looks pants.

I went to google and typed in 'River Plate kit'...and then photoshopped it in a Pro like manner... Word.

You are an idiot the9...I hope your face burns and you get AIDS.

Enjoy...maybe :)

That looks good,

Meh...not so keen. Think i prefer the black shorts...

Although this is closer to the original the white shorts etc just don't look like Saints

Quite like red shorts to be honest... This one could work quite well

Red shorts make this an impressive kit but prhaps not 'Saintly'.

Personally,I would like to see the sash shirt as either for one match ie for the 125th anniversary game at home, or as a leisure/training shirt...

As for the main season possibly a quarters shirt which has appealed for some time.Although I like the conventional stripes at some stage I hope we have a 'Keegan era' kit again.

Finally, the away kit should go back to a more traditional amber and black.

I really hope that we do not change our kit to our first one. The club is identified around the footballing world as having a variation of red and white stripes. We like and respect tradition; and for nearly all of our history, we have worn the red and white stripes. Rather than go and completely change this, why not submit a choice of kits for the fans to choose from? This way; the fans who would actually buy the shirts, could voice their opinion, and have their say via a vote (personally; I would go with a version of our very first red and white stripe kit, I think in 1902). As admirable as the actual idea of celebrating our anniversary with this kit may be; I would not want this to go ahead as our new home kit. I display my Saints crest (tattooed on my arm), and wear my numerous shirts with pride, but I personally would not wear the proposed diagonal striped kit. Mods; how about a vote on this subject?

Ah the old nimby aversion to change trait comes out.

It's a one off, it is a special season.

It is something that we nearly didn't live to see and it should be marked out.

Everywhere we go we will stand out and the pictures will say - They lasted 125 years and to hell with the nasty world the PL and the rest have become.

The Arsenal kit looked damn good for their special year and I am sure that whatever comes out of the tailor's shop in deepest Asia will also look good.

The shirts we buy (even you yoof) will mean something in years to come when you show them to your nippers or grand-nippers and explain our history and why we wore them with pride for a year.

After that - back to the stripes, no argument there because by then the job of celebrating our heritage and looking to the next 125 years will be done.

This is a discussion about football shirts and everyone has their own opinion !

Your comment is totally out of order and you should hang your head in shame !

(if it was meant to be a joke, use a smiley!).

I know him personally... Go away and mind your own.

Apologise if you have had AIDS or a burnt face recently. I can see how the above comment could have serious adverse affects on your sense of humor

.I must take everything deadly seriously from now on...

Rabbit, despite your wishes I will not allow you to give me your AIDS.

Also, it still looks like England 2000 not River. And the red shorts are cack. And Stu is right, some use of Football League name/number would be better, though I can't fault the name/number used.
