saint_stevo Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 saint stevo, can you not manage a half? Half? er no, i am still massively crippled. Centre half when i dont get sent off as well
Crab Lungs Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 What is the exact date this match will take place? Or at least a rough date... if so, I will try to come back for it. I won't be attending trials so may have to settle for a place on the bench. :0( Worst case scenario, I could 'produce' the 'matchday programme' for as an extra source of revenue for charidee...
saintchris23 Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 If you need a 6'4" Hants Prem CB then count me in.
The Fat Controller Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 who'd want to play for pompey's team knowing they won't get paid!
RedAndWhite91 Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 If you need a 6'4" Hants Prem CB then count me in. You're in! Tac-tics I think we have solved our CB problem.
proevosaints Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 More than happy to play. Can play anywhere on the wings or upfront
Baj Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 Be a shame to leave out a proven goal scorer against pompey online count me in Striker
Golden Balls Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 I can be anywhere but centre back. EDIT: Or in goal
Neilza Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 I'm a left back and played in the forum match last year, left footed too. But seen others say there LB's too so would have to see if I could make the team first! Depends on the dates of the trials and match really.
suewhistle Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 I could also possibly score with your right boob Susan, we shall see. Actually woman's football is probably more my level nowadays. On second thoughts and no offence to women footballers but I'm probably not being fair on myself there actually. 45, knackered knees, 25 years smoking (now quit though) and break int a sweat just running a bath, I am probably still better than any woman could even dream of being. Shame really, as I think women miss out on quite a few of the joys of life proper football being right up there with farting the national anthem I'd say. Heh, heh. I'm very easy going but might tap your ankles given a chance.;-) I'm 55 in a couple of months and I reckon I could well beat you in a sprint. Technically you are probably correct but I'd probs be better at hockey (and skiing!). We play end of season friendlies against the refs society and with the guys during the winter break and we may not be as strong and dynamic but we don't come out of it looking bad.
Foxy Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 If there's room for adding what can bes tbe described as a touch of experience I'd love a chance to play against our fishy friends once more (this time without having to swallow so many pain killers I rattle when I move as was the case at Moneyfields)
Tac-tics Posted 3 February, 2010 Author Posted 3 February, 2010 I have a few updates and will be writting them up around 10pm tonight, maybe with a few set dates, times and places.
Smirking_Saint Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 Have hospital on 17th, if i get the all clear put me down for CB,RB,or CM (Defensive)
saintjinksie Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 (edited) i would be up for it, striker or centre back. running isnt my strong point. i also have the reactions of a cat and can cover in goal Edited 3 February, 2010 by saintjinksie
prideofthesouth Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 I can play, CF normally, but can do anywhere accross the midfield. Must laugh at POTS putting himself up for CF!! How rude I will have you know I have scored a goal at St Mary's!

Bad times.
hamster Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 Ha yeah the crowd noise made me laugh. No I didn't get a DVD, would be great to get one or borrow one at some point to watch it. Might have to start saving up so I can play in the next one! Three pieces of advice mate 1 - Do it 2 - Do it and 3 - Do it.

Saint Fan CaM Posted 4 February, 2010 Posted 4 February, 2010 Dont be bloody silly, I may be youthful but I the running bit is a struggle to me. Where can I put you down? Hehe - well, I suppose I could come on for a 5 minute cameo aka a Burley special appearance (;. Somewhen in the dim and distant I played CM. Will depend on where and when though as much on at present. Got me thinking whether there's any more 45+ old crocked players on the forum that fancy a slow and leisurely knock about sometime? When the weather warms up a bit perhaps?!
hypochondriac Posted 4 February, 2010 Posted 4 February, 2010 If we get about 22 then we could consider playing two teams in each half.

Sue, I was only joking my dear. I am crap at football, and even my bucketload of enthusiasm wouldn't get me through even 45 minute. I am sure that you could beat me at just about anything Sue I'm not even as prolific a drinker as I used to be either. When I played for Eastleigh Post Office we would kick off at Chestnut Avenue at 10 and be waiting for the Cricks to open with our muddied and bloodied knees at 12. I would often wake up for work at 5 on Monday morning still in my football kit! Happy days.

When the weather warms up a bit perhaps?! Ther's a local vet's league, local being Soton and Eastleigh I think. Apparently some fairly handy players dotted about too. I've heard it's farily even though as there are many many more playing who have been refused medical insurance due to their poor physical state. I am rubbish at organising stuff but would be very nterested in taking part should someone else fancy taking it on.
stevegrant Posted 4 February, 2010 Posted 4 February, 2010 If we get about 22 then we could consider playing two teams in each half. That genuinely wouldn't work. The main reason PO were so bad in the first game was because they had a squad of 24. I can barely remember them having a shot. Despite what the scoreline may suggest, the second game was much closer, when they had a squad of 15 or 16.
B Rabbit Posted 4 February, 2010 Posted 4 February, 2010 Despite what the scoreline may suggest, the second game was much closer, when they had a squad of 15 or 16. Well bowled Steve Grant, well bowled...

I'm OK at organising but I have no spare time I'm afraid. If anyone ever fancies organising a knock-around for the 45+ yr old posters on here I'm in f'sure.

I thought they were crap in both games, if slightly more organised in the second one for the reason stated.
hypochondriac Posted 4 February, 2010 Posted 4 February, 2010 So are we going to get 11 who won't be playing? Probably me...
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 4 February, 2010 Posted 4 February, 2010 So are we going to get 11 who won't be playing? Probably me... My plan is to just say that I'm amazing beforehand and hope I have an exceptionally good game in the practice/trials.

Username: Pref posis: Secondary posis:

for_heaven's_Saint Posted 4 February, 2010 Posted 4 February, 2010 For_heaven's-saint CM CB Is there any chance the trials could be on a Sunday/Monday after a home game?
Tac-tics Posted 4 February, 2010 Author Posted 4 February, 2010 I didnt actually mean for you to write the bloody user name!!
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 4 February, 2010 Posted 4 February, 2010 I didnt actually mean for you to write the bloody user name!! don't want anyone getting confused!
RedAndWhite91 Posted 4 February, 2010 Posted 4 February, 2010 Well that is what it looked like mate! To have the trials on a Sunday afternoon would be ok for me. I have work til 1. Any week day evening I could also do, apart from Monday. That's my tuppence worth anyway.

Obviously I don't expect it to be organised around me! Just I live in London innit, so is harder to get back jst for the eve.
RedAndWhite91 Posted 4 February, 2010 Posted 4 February, 2010 I don't mind. That's good for me, but whatever date is good for everyone else I'm up for. If that makes sense.
MrWoody83 Posted 4 February, 2010 Posted 4 February, 2010 username - as above ! 1st choice - right back 2nd choice - right midfield

Smirking_Saint Posted 4 February, 2010 Posted 4 February, 2010 Pref Posis - CB Secondary - RB Third (if fit enough) - CM And thats if the knee is ok
saintchris23 Posted 4 February, 2010 Posted 4 February, 2010 CB or CF If needed of course. I always enjoy it when we play Paulsgrove in the league, so this should be pure excitement
prideofthesouth Posted 4 February, 2010 Posted 4 February, 2010 B rabbit @ LM? Have you ever used your chocolate foot? He cannot reply, remember pauper!
Golden Balls Posted 4 February, 2010 Posted 4 February, 2010 Pref posis: LM Secondary posis: Anywhere really, I can play anywhere but in goal or CB. Is there any footage out there of the Bouremouth game? I heard there was once but never saw my wondful strikes.
hamster Posted 4 February, 2010 Posted 4 February, 2010 The Common? Most important deatil required, what ales do they do in The Cowherds?
Arizona Posted 4 February, 2010 Posted 4 February, 2010 I'd like to request next week between Tuesday and Friday (inclusive) for trials and training. Should be free any time, appart from the JPT game assuming I get a ticket. Not down on the South Coast as often as I'd like to be.
