judging by some of the comments on here' date=' I'm not sure I'll get in the side! I'll def come along for practise n give it a go if I can though.[/quote']

same, i'll give it a go, haven't played footy for months!

I will play :) Left mid normally.....or right occasionally.

I would also vouch for The9 who is more than likely to want to play and can put te ball in the net....unlike POTS :)

Are you going to play in Orange? ;-)

Had a dream last night. Got called in by poortaloo (no idea why he was the manager) to replace the injured Hammond against Pompey. I played DMC and scored within 40s. We played in front of 20,000 fans. There were 4 Pompey fans. Saints won 10-0 but I got sent off. Think this may have been a vision of this match.

HTH.

will it be like the time the "Tabby Cat" (chandlers ford) played the Balloon (toilet town) the ref did a runner when the first claw hammer came out.

Where would you put me BR? 'Libero', deep mid, over-lapping full back or opposite wing to you FFS?

I can play, CF normally, but can do anywhere accross the midfield.

Must laugh at POTS putting himself up for CF!!

Magnet plays= Deffffo a fight.

I thought it strange as well, thought POTS played RM, or CM. Or sidelined with me and beadleknee'd right up

Having played Pompey supporters' teams on several occasions, and organised a few of them myself including some of the first Saintslist games, it's only right i put myself forward to play...

Can't believe I made it onto the shortlist for RM players. I am terrible. If you don't mind cheerleaders with incredibly hairy legs then maybe ICDAJFU. If not...

Yeah get involved.

Especially if you have helped set it up before...

It's the taking part that counts :)

If I have to then I will play CB if I get a guaranteed place on the team :). I hope no one finds beer bellies objectionable?

Or man boobs or I may aswell be packing up now!!!

I'm still haunted by my missed pen v's Charlton at Leeds in front of the Blue Few who turned up to "give support" many years ago in the knockouts in one of those games. Not missed once since, but then again, I don't get that far forward these days, even for shoot outs!!!

I am extremely envious. At 50, unfit with a half-knackered calf I would still love to play as in my mind I'm still 25...but you youthful types go ahead and have fun. :smt089

Dont be bloody silly, I may be youthful but I the running bit is a struggle to me.

Where can I put you down?

Nothing on Pompey Online about this. Do you want me to whack a thread on there about it?

Please buddy, I sent an e-mail to admin and a chap called Jim got in touch.

Would be really appreciated, especially if we can have people from either side pulling strings.

Can I sign you up hamster?

Are you serious TicTac?

Please don't beleieve all the hype and as I said to DP, last year's Forum match was probably the best I have ever played in my life and probably best i leave the glory to someone new. I suppose that I would have to humbly accept that I did basically run the show on that day back in May for the first 25 minutes, but I paid the price unfortunately and got whacked, yeah that's right 'whacked'. Have you watched Cassino Tic-tac? *

Might I suggest that the Fleming park kickabout would be a good place to start the search for your match-winners though.

*see here:

Yup, that is what they resorted to, shameful isn;t it?

Can we also have a women's veteran's side? I play punta... er.. striker. I'm not fussy, I score with my head, knee, right boob (ow...). Right-sided but happy to use my left, like chipping the ball which drives my Italian coach spare (even when there is someone in the way of a pinged ground pass).

OK, joking. I can't afford the flights. Do have fun though. Football is not a game for professionals!

I could also possibly score with your right boob Susan, we shall see.

Actually woman's football is probably more my level nowadays.

On second thoughts and no offence to women footballers but I'm probably not being fair on myself there actually. 45, knackered knees, 25 years smoking (now quit though) and break int a sweat just running a bath, I am probably still better than any woman could even dream of being. Shame really, as I think women miss out on quite a few of the joys of life proper football being right up there with farting the national anthem I'd say.

Ha that's the first time I've seen the footage of the Forum match- looked great! And great to put some faces to names!

Hopefully a mutual place between the two, Warsash maybe and the date and time also mutual.....

this is where you guys help...what's ideal?

Still think trials on the common. Any chance of a lift from someone if it's in Warsash? My car is in the garage :(

There are all the goals on that link too iirc. The crowd were good that day, non-stop singing for 90 minutes!

Did you not get a DVD? I can run them off if people want copies, obviously with Baj's consent but wouldn;t be any hardship.

Ha yeah the crowd noise made me laugh.

No I didn't get a DVD, would be great to get one or borrow one at some point to watch it. Might have to start saving up so I can play in the next one!

Hmmm, if I have any excuse to start posting my 35 yarder from the last PO match I'll be happy... Like I need one.

Ps why's Goldenballs not on the shortlist? He was good at Bournemouth (mumble mumble I scored at both ends, overhead kick, etc)

PPS PrideoftheSouth is not a striker. :)

PPPS Spose I'd be interested, had a knee op since the Forum match (scored twice in that) and heinously unfit, but bagsie/shotgun number 9 ;)

PPPPS Hampshire Police would probably insist on a "proper" venue due to potential crowd issues (seriously, the last two games were at Moneyfields and Eastleigh FC, people turned up).

Modesty prevents me posting this :

Bloody Hamster STILL hasn't changed the reference to Griffo on there, tsk.

At least he set this one up :

Here's the footage from the Moneyfields game (goals by Baj, stevegrant, me from the terrible goalkick and Greedyfly aka GreenwichSaint)

I think I've got the Eastleigh match somewhere too...

I played in the last two games gainst PompeyOnline at Moneyfields and Eastleigh and they were great fun. The one at Eastleigh was particularly funny with Mick Channon Jnr turning up 5 mins before KO with the hangover from hell and still running rings round the entire Pompey team! We thrashed them both times by the way. I am in semi-retirement now but would play if you were desperate! Would definately come along to support whatever. Will try and dig some of the photos out later.

One of my better efforts at the 13 second mark, where's Linvoy's Afro when you need him? ;)
