Tac-tics Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 (edited) Right here goes: In the past there has been the odd game between SWF and Pompey Online. It's been a bloody long time since we last played them so who would be up for it? I would obviously need people to help and give up spare time, linesmen and a ref, players and any one that wants to support the game. Mods and Admins, feel free to take control and help as it would be appreciated. I have no idea which message board to contact so lets get the ball rolling.... Update's: Pompey online are interested, maybe with an idea it progressing to a charity match or just an annual competition. So sign up guys!!! Tac-tics Posted 2 February, 2010 Author Posted 2 February, 2010 Right, Im going to try and arrange it then!!! If anyone wants any involvement sign up and I shall contact the blue few right now.
Crab Lungs Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 Tentatively in. I have a point to prove at LB. ;-)
saint_stevo Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 Tentatively in. I have a point to prove at LB. ;-) You will never make it back for that Kerins
Wurzel Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 Just make sure you get the pitch fee off them before you book anything
Golden Balls Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 I'm up for it! Only ever played in the Bournemouth game for SF. If we need anymore players, I know quite a few quality players who would be up for it!
SuperMikey Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 Depends when it takes place, but otherwise i'm in. Just got to make sure the ol' knee is okay before I take part.
Wade Garrett Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 I don't think people shouldn't take for granted they are in the side. There should be trials. First the East and West Southampton trials, and then the final trials. Just like Southampton Schoolboys in the old days. Some of you giving yourself a place in the side might be sh*t for all I know.

Which is a great idea in theory (in theory!), considering I am even ****ter now that I haven't played for a couple of years. Though I do envisage a return to vintage form after a few practice sessions and a dollop of personal motivation.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 I'm in! Although as said above I think there should be some sort of trials or at least practise session before picking the team, as for all I know you could all be amazing.
Gudz Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 We had a London Saints team a few years back, some of the lads from that are pretty good. Also I'm sure Oxfordshire Saint would sign up for goaly duties. I, unfortunately, am a combination of injured, old & quite frankly nowhere near good enough, so I volunteer for watching!
RedAndWhite91 Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 Yeah a practice session is a good shout.

Indeed, I would be more than up for it!!! Can also play competently in any role across the back four, but goalkeeper by trade
stevegrant Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 Isn't it a bit late, given the game is less than two weeks away?
Ken Tone Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 Can I just be in the squad on first team wages without playing for a couple of years please? K.
Crab Lungs Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 Isn't it a bit late, given the game is less than two weeks away? Oh ****, now its a problem for me. :-o Durrrr. Note to self... engage brain.
Wade Garrett Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 Indeed, I would be more than up for it!!! Can also play competently in any role across the back four, but goalkeeper by trade Outrageous. I am sure there are people on here better in goal than you are, and better defenders (goalies think they're good on pitch, but they're not). I bet Pompey Online are having trials. Apparently Peter Storrie is good at them.
Tac-tics Posted 2 February, 2010 Author Posted 2 February, 2010 Right if interested, sign up your prefrable posistion and I will but a few dates up for a "trial" and people can select whats easier for the, due to commitments and the most popular date we'll have going.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 Can I say CM or CB? Depends how good everyone else is in each...
RedAndWhite91 Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 Usually play up front, but can also play right wing.
VectisSaint Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 Could you give Pulis a game? Not sure if he would be up to the required standard but could help to build his confidence.
hypochondriac Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 Midfield or defence for me I'm quite small!
hypochondriac Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 Can trials take place on the common? I will be closest then!
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 Midfield or defence for me I'm quite small! That's alright 'cos I'm quite tall. Little and large combination?
saintsforlife7 Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 Depends when it is but would be up for it. Played in centre midfield in the SW game at SMS so could play there? but I scored the winner so could go for a place up front if spare?
Toadhall Saint Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 Will Saint_Stevo be allowed as the heckler? ;-)
Arizona Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 Crap right sided player. RB or RM, I'm equally disappointing in either role.
CHAZZA 92 Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 ex yeovil town i'm in for anywhere on the pitch
hypochondriac Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 I wouldn't put me cm. That would mean a lot of running around! Play me wide left.
oxfordshire_saint Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 Outrageous. I am sure there are people on here better in goal than you are, and better defenders (goalies think they're good on pitch, but they're not). There may well be, I don't know everyone on here, but surely playing at levels above "Sunday Football" is worth something? Meh, offer's there, it can be taken or left, tis no skin off my nose.
dubai_phil Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 Which reminds me.... Must be getting close to the time to remind the club that TSW needs to borrow SMS again in May for forum match 2.
Andy_Porter Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 Must be getting close to the time to remind the club that TSW needs to borrow SMS again in May for forum match 2. I hope so! Would probably come along and watch if you lot played Pompey and it wasn't too far out my way.
hamster Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 I would dearly love to be a sub for the second half, dearly. Plus know a good ref, who may be able to control this tinderbox affair, let me know in plenty of time though.
hamster Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 Which reminds me.... Must be getting close to the time to remind the club that TSW needs to borrow SMS again in May for forum match 2. Good shout Gaffer, good shout. Count me out next time though, I think that I peaked.
prideofthesouth Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 I will play. I can play any position but usually play CM or FWD
CHAZZA 92 Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 cheers tactics for putting me in, i played cm for yeovil u18s early this season
Tac-tics Posted 2 February, 2010 Author Posted 2 February, 2010 cheers tactics for putting me in, i played cm for yeovil u18s early this season Did you play in the friendly in the summer against SouthDowns College or Havant & Waterlooville?
CHAZZA 92 Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 Did you play in the friendly in the summer against SouthDowns College or Havant & Waterlooville? na i didnt play in that but played v weymouth 1st
S4INT Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 Completely depending on when it was I'd be well up for it - I'm a goalie but up at uni in Nottingham so you'll have to let me know when you were thinking of playing it...
suewhistle Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 Can we also have a women's veteran's side? I play punta... er.. striker. I'm not fussy, I score with my head, knee, right boob (ow...). Right-sided but happy to use my left, like chipping the ball which drives my Italian coach spare (even when there is someone in the way of a pinged ground pass). OK, joking. I can't afford the flights. Do have fun though. Football is not a game for professionals!
B Rabbit Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 I will play Left mid normally.....or right occasionally. I would also vouch for The9 who is more than likely to want to play and can put te ball in the net....unlike POTS
B Rabbit Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 Baj can ref aswell.....i'll just throw that in there without asking him.
saint_stevo Posted 2 February, 2010 Posted 2 February, 2010 happy to heckle. I would play but as i may have mentioned before i snapped my acl. SG's fault
