I thought this was deserved of its own thread because of how well-written and how it would relate to so many Saints fans.

The Echo has taken some rightful bashing over its conduct in recent weeks but Dan Kerins continues to write thoughtful, insightful and enjoyable articles devoid of politics and resentment towards the club.

One of the best pieces of journalism I've read in recent years (EDIT: from the Echo!)

Dan Kerins, keep up the good work!

Aren't you Dan Kerins?

"Its about the banter and the bragging rights...Its about letting them know we’re top dog – and doing it with a smile".

You can stuff your f**king SKY clichés up your lazy journo a••e.

I seem to remember in the old days of saintsforever Crab Lungs being Dan Kerins, quite sad to devote a thread to bigging up your own article. Isn't the idea that other people talk about how good your article is not yourself?

"One of the best pieces of journalism I've read in recent years"

Yes compared to that clown in the echo who rights the awful singles in the city article every week and mugs himself off with his embarassing exploits but When you've finished ****ing over yourself I suggest you start reading a few proper papers if you really believe that your quite average article is truely "One of the best pieces of journalism I've read in recent years"

Er, would I upset you if I told you that I wasn't in fact Dan Kerins?

A total "LOL" moment.

BTW i know them both and no Crab Lungs isnt Dan Kerins!!

You are without doubt my favourite 'roomie'

I hope, that wherever you reside these days, that you have a chair solely dedicated to philosophical thoughts.

Back on topic, I've rephrased my original appraisal (booooo!) - it should have read 'best piece of journalism from The Echo in years) which, incidentally, I believe it was - and ****ing hell, they've printed some tripe....

no, Crabs Lungs is Michael Wilde.

Michael Wilde is a better left back, and has more hair.

Come to think of it, he's probably a better striker too.

Ergo, Lung = Kerin. FFS FACT.

Confused. How did the editor let this one slip through the net without having a dig at Saints? Kerins may be up for the sack if he's not more careful, he'd better toe the Echo's anti-Saints line in future.

Good article: nasty rag.

alright, you must be mates though. Anyone who rates that sort of **** must be bessie pals or lovers. Dan Kerrins used to post on the old SF board. Tell him next time you've got a mouthful of his jizz that he's a **** ****.

Got to give credit where it's due, I'm afraid.

That said, I'll send my love and give him a thrust for you, sweetcheeks. x

Why don't you write an article on the same theme and post it here. Your prose thus far leaves me to think your writing would not stand comparison.

Are you still Wooooosh that Dan has posted in this thread already?

Maybe, just maybe go and have a little scan back over the rest of the posts.

Apologies..... I'm still boycotting the Echo so I cannot read the 'scintillating piece of journalism' to which you refer.

Hahaha, fair one. That said, you're not 'paying' for it as such, or contributing money towards it?

This journalist is tedious at best. Every single one of his "opinion" articles has exactly the same nauseating narrative..........giddy childlike optimism......it wasn't like that in my day.....but I'll support Saints til I die.

Not to mention the cornball one liners and excruciatingly bad cliches

Did you mean to write leads as opposed to leaves?

Classic pot/kettle moment!

Time = money, my friend.

The time I would have spent reading it would have equated to a financial contribution.

I shall maintain the dignity of my principles.

:D

I'd allow it, purely for the correct spelling of "your".

Anyway, I'm Dan Kerins, and Windows 7 was my idea.

He's not Dan Kerins, he's a very naughty boy.

Etc.

I've just read half the article. "He said Amarillo" now fits nicely in with my other quote.

I have to dispute the whole "where you were born" thing being the issue though. Although I *do* also hate Cardiff City.

Is it just me, or has this thread become a massive mindf*ck?

I suspect it's pretty much like that for anyone who hasn't either played for the IFC team or met Dan(ny) Kerins and/or Lungs/Minty/SaintSausage/stevegrant/CabbageFace/Banana Factor/me in person.

Dan Kerins is a lumberjack and he's ok.

Well in that case I'm Jason Bourne.

Im Ja rule

No, I'm Dan Kerins!

Looks like the recent multiple-user-name amnesty worked a treat then ;)

What annoys me most about this sort of writing is that every sentence must be its own paragraph - as though the reader could not possibly cope with the density of a paragraph that is, heavens above, several sentences long. Actually, the reverse is true; if you put together thematically related sentences into proper paragraphs, the text is easier to read and doesn't seem like a stream of random, unconnected thoughts.

have to say i think its refreshingly honest about things, its a proper saints fans perspective as opposed to a watered down tabloid version that usually get, not a bad read
