krissyboy31 Posted 4 February, 2010 Share Posted 4 February, 2010 I can't for the life of me work out why there are pictures of fans holding handfuls of tickets on the OS. I thought today was database sales, one per customer. Surely they're not letting people go to the ticket office as an individual with an infinite list of customers and just buying as many tickets as they want? One per customer number, not per customer. The one's on the website obviously queued up for friends and family but they still needed to be on the database and buying linked tickets.

It is one per customer number, if you get 10 your mates customer numbers and go down the ground you can buy 10 tickets.
Sour Mash Posted 4 February, 2010 Share Posted 4 February, 2010 I can't for the life of me work out why there are pictures of fans holding handfuls of tickets on the OS. I thought today was database sales, one per customer. Surely they're not letting people go to the ticket office as an individual with an infinite list of customers and just buying as many tickets as they want? Why not? That's the whole point of the system, it is one ticket per one customer number on the database. It's really not that confusing. Why can't people buy for their mates who are on the database and have a customer number at the same time?
Jonnyboy Posted 4 February, 2010 Share Posted 4 February, 2010 No its 1 ticket per customer number No, league games only. The woman who emailed me sorting my online booking out said around 7k left. Mmmm, dilema I thought you couldnt book online with a customer number?

Saint_clark Posted 4 February, 2010 Share Posted 4 February, 2010 Probably a stupid question, but do those figures include away fans? I'd imagine so. So it's 19,000 for Pompey and 26,000 for MK Dons.
brianoneils slidingtackle Posted 4 February, 2010 Share Posted 4 February, 2010 I'd imagine so. So it's 19,000 for Pompey and 26,000 for MK Dons. Surely they're not letting people go to the ticket office as an individual with an infinite list of customers and just buying as many tickets as they want? so you think every single person on the database should all queue up individually? that queue this morning would have stretched all the way to the sh**hole that is pompey if so
Saint_clark Posted 4 February, 2010 Share Posted 4 February, 2010 Which is strange when the OS reported that they expected to go through 20,000 in the first hour. I'd have been very surprised if that was the case.
Bucks Saint Posted 4 February, 2010 Share Posted 4 February, 2010 Following the tip above re the 01271 phone number, I am going to keep adding a random digit to the customer numbers that I do have and order all 7000 Think you missed the point, they were talking about Phone numbers Er no, I think it was you that missed the point (joke). If SaintSarah can correctly guess a phone number that worked ok, then I can correctly guess some customer numbers to buy all the remaining tickets
Bucks Saint Posted 4 February, 2010 Share Posted 4 February, 2010 I'd imagine so. So it's 19,000 for Pompey and 26,000 for MK Dons. but Saint Stevo said 7000 left for Pompey match at 4.30 (which would mean 25k sold)?
Legod Third Coming Posted 4 February, 2010 Share Posted 4 February, 2010 Can't get through on the phone, no chance of getting to the ground with work. So good luck all the plastics, see you against Wycombe at Adams Park - no chance... lol

Right sider Posted 4 February, 2010 Share Posted 4 February, 2010 Got in the queue at 6 this morning and got Block 41 tickets just after 9am. Nicola Cortese was out at half 6 followed by free tea and coffee from the club. Could you imagine that happening before this season.

saints triumph Posted 4 February, 2010 Share Posted 4 February, 2010 Total farce - thought there might be a bit of solidarity amongst fans: instead its been each to his own, fat snouts in the trough and f**k the rest. Any ST holder who ordered more than his fair share (i.e. one per ST holder) should be ashamed of himself. I did and I am not. Going to sell the extras on ebay and make a good profit. I will then donate the profit to the pompey fighting fund. AS IF

sotonjoe Posted 4 February, 2010 Share Posted 4 February, 2010 I guess I just find it a bit odd that I could get a list of ten friends' customer numbers and go down and buy ten tickets, just to resell them for a profit etc. If I go down to the stadium to do that, how do they know I have permission to use all those other people's customer numbers? It all seems a little more open to abuse than it could and perhaps should be. If you want to buy linked tickets online, you have to use linked customer numbers. In other words, you can't just type in an infinite load of customer numbers in order to buy an infinite number of tickets. Maybe it should be the same for sales in person. Perhaps the database does need to be tarted up a bit and turned back into a membership system with some sort of id card which would have to be shown at point of purchase. Maybe it's not possible, who knows? It seems odd to go from one per season ticket holder to a system which seems a bit of a free for all to be honest. Maybe they should have had tickets on sale to people with a certain number of games attended this season before having today's lottery. I'll be seeing how many 'spare' tickets appear on here for sale with interest though.

However if you have 10 friends with customer numbers (and have therefore been to saints games in recent years) and none of them actually wanted to go to this game and they were all happy for you to abuse the system, then wouldn't that be a little odd, no? Well I don't know about 10, but you get the drift. I expect there will be a fair amount of "buy now, see if you want the ticket later" and lots of 'spares' will be sold on. John Boy Saint Posted 4 February, 2010 Share Posted 4 February, 2010 Well I have phone redial thumb been trying all day whilst out on the road even had the pleasure of Skype to click dial repeatedly when in the office for half an hour.
