Tomobz Posted 4 February, 2010 Posted 4 February, 2010 That 01271 number. I just phoned it again because I remembered I needed tickets for the Carlisle game in April for my cousin. Got straight through... she did seem suprised I was phoning for tickets to Carlisle and not P*mpey though. Straight through both times. haha thats why no one can get through. everyone is panic buying the carlisle tickets
StuRomseySaint Posted 4 February, 2010 Posted 4 February, 2010 (edited) stu can you get me one ha!!! why are you getting straight through, i bloody well am not!!! Ha, I dunno. It's a slow day at work today so I am going to get through again and record myself having a long conversation about pointless things like the weather and politics to one of the operators, blocking the queue. Then I will simply thank them for their time and hang-up. I will post the audio up when I am done. :-) Edited 4 February, 2010 by StuRomseySaint
Pilchards Posted 4 February, 2010 Posted 4 February, 2010 823 attempts!!!!!!!!!! If you reach 1,000 I will give you mine as a gift! not.... keep trying tactics as you will get one.

Bucks Saint Posted 4 February, 2010 Posted 4 February, 2010 oh yes..........got my two tickets! After 3.5 hours of queuing, much banter, some frustration, zero success at getting through to any phone number whilst there, I have two for the Skates and two for dirty Leeds. Well, my brother has them at least, after he did all that for me - top man
StuRomseySaint Posted 4 February, 2010 Posted 4 February, 2010 its ringing!!! I hope you get cut off. Mine is ringing too... record on... if you are behind me in the queue I am going to keep the ticket bloke on hold for ages. Any suggestions on what topic of conversation I should discuss?

SaintSparky Posted 4 February, 2010 Posted 4 February, 2010 Just be patient with the phone number, after about an hour of continuous redial I got through; a message asked said 'welcome to the ticket office' and asked me to hold for someone to become free and then rang for a further 8 minutes; 5 minutes later tickets purchased.

Kingsland Red Posted 4 February, 2010 Posted 4 February, 2010 Be warned, anyone that has already bought tickets for Leeds, Huddesfield and Walsall, take them along or you'll have to buy them again. What a farce, I wanted Hartlepool but conveniently they weren't on sale.
Tac-tics Posted 4 February, 2010 Posted 4 February, 2010 Total price? Looking at a similar arrangement for moi £50 dead on.
Marsdinho Posted 4 February, 2010 Posted 4 February, 2010 Nor the fact that Pompey are owed roughly 50% of the gate receipts after costs. Basically we have all given Pompey £15 to help them! You're a bundle of laughs you are...

A friend has just been down to St Mary's and got his and some friends tickets (all booked against their customer nos) and everything has died down now, and although there are queues not too many people there. Would imagine phone lines are a lot quieter now too

irishsaint83 Posted 4 February, 2010 Posted 4 February, 2010 i just dialed 01271 335708 and everytime your man say "all operators busy" etc - pressed cancel and retry - after about 12 goes at it, it rang..... so put the phone on speaker and let it ring away..... took about 25mins before someone answered and got sorted.
dune Posted 4 February, 2010 Posted 4 February, 2010 I rang the 01271 335708 number and after a couple of attempts got straight through. The woman asked where i'd got the number from! Half way up in block 3 - i can't wait. Got a nice big stash of monopoly money ordered off ebay to taunt the fish fiddlers with.
northam soul Posted 4 February, 2010 Posted 4 February, 2010 How can that office moan about where people got the number from when it is advertised on the official saints website.

Did exactly the same _ took about 40 mins in total at lunchtime. Got reasonable position seats in Kingsland block 36. Should be fun. I fear we might lose but hopefully we will be through to Wembley anyway.

Thanks for any help with that PS - Whats the source for there only being 7000 left?? No its 1 ticket per customer number No, league games only. The woman who emailed me sorting my online booking out said around 7k left.
adethorne Posted 4 February, 2010 Posted 4 February, 2010 Stupid idea to stop memberships, tbf. Edit - although not as stupid as not ensuring the online booking system was robust enough to stop people buying tickets they weren't entitled to... Totally agree, i'm have membership carried over from before, can't have season ticket because my job means i'm away fairly reguarly. However i've been to many away matches on a cold tuesday night and the not so glamourous home games so i think i'm entitled to my ticket. So I also find it frustrating to hear that people got extra tickets especially when i travelled two hours this morning to get to the ground for 7am, queue for nearly 4 hours to ensure i got my ticket, so yeah plastic fans do take the p!zz a bit. There has to be a fairer way to stop people getting a ticket who haven't even been to a game for a couple of seasons just because they are on database. Still got my now, what do i care. By the way, nice touch by chairman and staff this morning, meant a lot, cheers
sotonjoe Posted 4 February, 2010 Posted 4 February, 2010 I can't for the life of me work out why there are pictures of fans holding handfuls of tickets on the OS. I thought today was database sales, one per customer. Surely they're not letting people go to the ticket office as an individual with an infinite list of customers and just buying as many tickets as they want?
