I know like me, fellow Saintsweb members seek out Liebherr Cranes in our travelling around.

Reading the Dudley Brazier obituary in the Echo Business section I quote:

" In the 1950s Brazier & Son Ltd built many of the shops in Southampton city centre.... and were the first to use a huge tower crane on a Southampton construction site in 1959 which attracted much interest. The Liebherr crane was shipped over from Germany for the Marlands Development".

I was hoping to use a Liebheer LTM 1080 for the crane lift I have planned for the 12th Feb, but I am stuck with a Tandano, whihc is only offset by the fact that the ECU in both plus the Excavator I have on site are manufactured by the company MALI Bodensee Steuergeräte GmbH.

I looked out of my office window yesterday and one of the grain ships on dock head was using a Liebherr Crane, but you just have to look at DP World to see lots of them

Channel 5 now is showing construction of the worlds largest truck, and it just happens to be a Liebherr truck. Pretty impresive engineering, if your interested.

If we go to Wembly this year, (or is that WHEN) we should club together and get a Liebherr crane and paint it Red and White.

My favorite would be the LTM 1500-8.1. 500 tonne maximum lift at 3m radius. 108m radius with a luffing jib. Comes with a service and diagnostic LISSy system and LICCON work planner. She's a beast, but she's still a mobile all terrain crane. And you can't get her in blue, neither.

The Liebherrs in Southampton Docks are painted red and white already.

They make the cranes just down the road from me, looks pretty cool sometimes when there are a few out by the river, though they're all yellow.

Saw some Liebherr heavy plant thing (ie not a crane) whilst stuck in the nightmare roadworks on the M25 the other week (round about J17-if anyone else wants to look out for it!).

Gave me a smile in an otherwise infurating 3 hour trip back to Hampshire!
