This is just ****** journalism...maybe he wanted to give the player a bit of a get out clause as to why he wasn't signed without letting him think that others (specifically Puncheon) were preferred targets - who knows - he is pandering to a Falkirk readership.

 

Most pertinent was the fact that businessmen such as are running our club at the moment would not have let AP spend the amount they have if he wasn't staying...let alone build a business plan around a three year contract with a five year option.

Reminds me of the father of a friend of mine. An Arsenal fan not blessed with sons he named his two daughters 'Charlotte' and 'Georgina'.

 

His wife didn't realise what he'd done until 'Charlie' and 'George' pointed it out to her a couple of decades later when they worked it out themselves!
