Pilchards Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 I know Pardew said that's it but I still guess he will bring one more in that's not cup tied. Hopefully this thread can be updated with all our speculation and other deals that are happening so I don't have to visit so many websites to get the latest info on any team like Portsmuff. Off out for a all day walk in the Mid Wales countryside. So I predict 1 permantely out 1 out on loan + 1 in.
SO16_Saint Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 This could be a good link to use, Pilch.... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/8484330.stm
Master Bates Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 OMG! Never realised it was February already!
StuRomseySaint Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 I still think that Neil Danns could make the switch here if Palace decide to accept the offer made last week.
SO16_Saint Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 Leon Best to Newcastle. Sell-on fee? for no aparrant reason, i wouldn't have thought so.... would admin have anything to do with it? making all previous deals nul and void?
instinct Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 I want to see us sign Arfield and that young quick Crawley striker, Danns would be good too
Pilchards Posted 1 February, 2010 Author Posted 1 February, 2010 This could be a good link to use, Pilch.... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/8484330.stm I knew about that but if you had a signal for 30 seconds only on top of a mountain then I would choose this thread because it would have Saints gossip too. Keep it coming guys :-)
Capel Saint Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 I reckon they might sign Danns from Palace and the Crawley striker if he liked what Pardew had to say to him when they met at the weekend. (According to the Echo)
Torrent Of Abuse Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 I want to see us sign Arfield and that young quick Crawley striker, Danns would be good too Not enough signings yet? Are your initials HR? Like the BBC link. Will have to watch to see the Fratton Exodus. Like the twittered comment: From AFCBPETER on Twitter: "Firesale continues at Pompey. Fan with big hat spotted outside White Hart Lane." Maybe some signings are still in the pipeline for us but as Bosmans agreed now and pencilled in for the summer when their contracts expire?
fareham saint phil Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 Like most, and certainly after saturday when we were crying out for that type of player, I'd like to see us sign Danns, but i suppose that will be down to the administrators of CP as this is the last day they can get any decent money in. Its funny how 6mths can can a football club, back in the summer we were at the mercy of money men!!
saint_stevo Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 Sure there will be a few names kicking about today.......
Tony F Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 Not strictly Saints news for January 2010 but it looks like James Beattie (remember him?) will be plying his trade at Upton Park from tomorrow. So maybe - just maybe - we'll see him back at St Mary's next season playing in claret and blue in the Championship...??
SO16_Saint Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 Ill give you 5000/1 on that tony... From Andrew, east London, via text to 81111: "Currently working on the West Ham website, been asked to format the headline 'Beattie Ful'. James is on his way."
St.Patrik Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 http://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/argusgeneralsportsnews/4882968.Swindon_and_Saints_in_hunt_for_Ademeno/
david in sweden Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 I want to see us sign Arfield and that young quick Crawley striker, Danns would be good too I agree that they both look exciting prospects, but both are playing at lower levels and you can't put inexperienced players into a side that isn't hitting top form already. I'd much rather go for Danns,we need dependable midfielders and he has a better background (and at least Forte would know where he was on the pitch).
Chez Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 perhaps if Gillett move is resurected by Donny Stock will make the switch. Other than that I can't see anything happening. Do all loans need to be finalised today as well or can they be done after the window closes?
Block 5 Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 Ill give you 5000/1 on that tony... I'll have £2 at those odds Stevo.
Gingeletiss Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 I'll have £2 at those odds Stevo. Is that a legal contract, offering those odds on a public forum!!!!!:smt036
saint_stevo Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 Not strictly Saints news for January 2010 but it looks like James Beattie (remember him?) will be plying his trade at Upton Park from tomorrow. So maybe - just maybe - we'll see him back at St Mary's next season playing in claret and blue in the Championship...?? To clarify, this was the 5000/1 shot. So its, Beattie to sign for W/H, W/H to get relegated, and Saints to get promoted.
once_bitterne Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 Danny Higgenbotham in on loan from Derby County and David Prutton in for £2.5m from Forest. Brought to you by 'UK Transfer Window Deadline Day Gold'
david in sweden Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 Danny Higgenbotham in on loan from Derby County and David Prutton in for £2.5m from Forest. Brought to you by 'UK Transfer Window Deadline Day Gold' That would be ironic (if true) as we Paid about £2.5 mill for Prutton in the beginning.:smt036
Torres Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 Danny Higgenbotham in on loan from Derby County and David Prutton in for £2.5m from Forest. Brought to you by 'UK Transfer Window Deadline Day Gold' Brilliant signings if they come off. Higgy was Derby's Player of the Season last year and is really highly rated by their fans. Prutton is England U-21 skipper and a great prospect for the future. Expect us to at least double that fee when he plays for the full England side and we sell to someone like Spurs or Liverpool. Good work by WGS and Rupert.

SO16_Saint Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 That would be ironic (if true) as we Paid about £2.5 mill for Prutton in the beginning.:smt036 AND the fact that DH plays for Stoke...?
Block 5 Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 To clarify, this was the 5000/1 shot. So its, Beattie to sign for W/H, W/H to get relegated, and Saints to get promoted. I'm in......
Joensuu Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 (edited) To clarify, this was the 5000/1 shot. So its, Beattie to sign for W/H, W/H to get relegated, and Saints to get promoted. I'm rubbish at maths, but I'd take you up on that bet too... If there is about a 20% chance of West Ham getting relegated; about 14% chance of Saints being promoted; and (finger in air) 10% change of BT signing for West Ham, then my bad maths makes the probability of all three events occuring about 0.28% (Correct me if I'm wrong!). If I'm close to right (unlikely!), wouldn't sensible odds to offer be about 350/1 or less? Edited 1 February, 2010 by Joensuu

Block 5 Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 AND Beattie back at St Mary's next season playing in claret and blue in the Championship Ah..... So if WH were to wear a shirt other than claret & blue at SMS......?
Give it to Ron Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 AND the fact that DH plays for Stoke...? whoosh......over the head it goes....
RedAndWhite91 Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 Off topic, but Leon Best off to Newcastle.
saint_stevo Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 Ah..... So if WH were to wear a shirt other than claret & blue at SMS......? Bet is void if they wear a different strip
SO16_Saint Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 whoosh......over the head it goes.... D'oh! you see, it's all these wild rumours flying round that foxed me!
Saint dyer Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/coventry_city/7012153.stm appears we get 20% of the leon best fee
Red Alert Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 Loan deals, prem to prem teams. I dont think they should be allowed imo.
SaintRichmond Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/coventry_city/7012153.stm appears we get 20% of the leon best fee I thought it was 20% of anything over £650K ???
Scummer Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 We cashed in most of our sell-on options for hard cash last year anyway. Although Cov weren't too healthy either, so maybe they didn't pay up.
Chez Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 I thought it was 20% of anything over £650K ??? correct so if he goes for lets say £700,000 then we get £10,000. Any rumour on the fee? Every little helps.
SO16_Saint Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 correct so if he goes for lets say £700,000 then we get £10,000. Any rumour on the fee? Every little helps. I'd say £1.5M
Professor Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 Sell-on clauses used to mean a lot to the club, but money seems to be no problem these days. You don't get the impression that Pardew has had to sell in order to buy, or that there has been a lot of effort to reduce the squad size, which must add up to a hefty wage bill at the moment. It would be nice to see one or two go today, as too many players limits opportunities for people to show what they can do in the reserves.
St Landrew Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 Leon Best to Newcastle. Sell-on fee? I saw that. Apparently true. Frankly, I never saw evidence of him being good enough for the Premiership. Now Dexter, was another kettle of fish.
krissyboy31 Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 I saw that. Apparently true. Frankly, I never saw evidence of him being good enough for the Premiership. Now Dexter, was another kettle of fish. Agreed! Best definitely won't cut it in the Prem but Blackstock could.
Red Alert Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 In unrelated news, Natalie Sawyer on Sky Sports News looks flipping fantastic.
DT Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 In unrelated news, Natalie Sawyer on Sky Sports News looks flipping fantastic. I expect she's seeing John Terry.
Armitage Shanks Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 I expect she's seeing John Terry. Wayne Bridge sent his missus a replica of his **** made from Cadburys chocolate. She said that she prefers Terrys.
DT Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 Wayne Bridge sent his missus a replica of his **** made from Cadburys chocolate. She said that she prefers Terrys. v good. was it in the shape of an orange?
Armitage Shanks Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 v good. was it in the shape of an orange? Allegedly it was. Only allegedly of course.
Murdock Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 Prutton's loan move to Colchester made Permanent. Leeds cancel his contract. From the BBC website, as link in this thread.
