St Landrew Posted 30 January, 2010 Share Posted 30 January, 2010 Bloody ridiculous. Understandable that Togo withdrew from the ACoN, but that decision makes no sense at all.
Saint in Paradise Posted 30 January, 2010 Share Posted 30 January, 2010 As I read it they are banned because the Togo Govt. stopped them playing and that is classed as political interference and not allowed under F.I.F.A. regulations.
oldskoolsi Posted 31 January, 2010 Share Posted 31 January, 2010 Not that it makes it any better a decision but on the radio yesterday it was said Togo went against the advice of the Angolan authorities by using coach rather than a plane.

As I understood it, hours before the game, the Togo team decided they wanted to play in the tournament but the government ordered them home.
