Spudders Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 3 points which was what mattered, but disappointing performance really for the majority of the game. Still, onwards and upwards
martyg1950 Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 2 - 0, 3 points, clean sheet, prolly 11th, dreadful 1st 1/2 but all in all, that'll do - onwards and upwards COYS!!
latter day saint Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 thank god for that. was thinking we would do our usual & c ock it up against a poor team but the introduction of Papa seemed to make a difference. Happy chappie now COYFS!
Thedelldays Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 Very happy..needed to win first half sounded shocking all round.... sounds like it changed when waigo came on..maybe he will start alongside lambert next week..? antonio sounded dangerous with his running and morgan sounded like he had a good 2nd half.. on to the next must win game
trousers Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 Have we got any closer to playoffs? Don't have league table to hand
ART Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 I just wanna say, like Abba did once say " We were nothin' special, in fact we were grey and a bore Each game we tried to play, we struggled even more. But Marcus saw our talent, saw some wonderful thing ’He was quick to step forward and listened when we started to sing We're all so grateful and proud All we want to do now, is sing it out loud" "Thank you Marcus Liebherr, how you saved us sinking. Thanks for all the money, and a whole new thinking. Hard now to live without you, we ask in all honesty. What would life be? Without your help and belief in our dream. So we say thank you Marcus Liebherr. For the football and buying us a team" Lalala lalalalalalalalalalala
Badger Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 We have a week to build on this performance and improve for the next game!!! COYR
Wade Garrett Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 Nice to grind one out and keep a clean sheet. (Danns scored twice for Palace).
doddisalegend Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 Game of two halves, which seems to the norm for us one good half one bad. Surely Papa has to start getting more playing time? even if he doesn't start he has to be brought on early as a sub, Papa made the difference to day. Starting to worry about Barnard, got to give him more time yet, but his missed a few good chances in his first three matches.
BigShadow Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 Lot of changes in this team recently - new faces, injuries - will take a few weeks for them to sort things out. The important thing is grinding out results over the next few games so gotta be happy with 2-0 today even if it wasn't the easiest victory some were expecting.
Ewell Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 Glad we won. Concerned about the lack of attacking options on the bench. This makes me feel this non league Crawley striker would be a good signing. Waigo scores again which is good to see. You have to wonder how many goals he would have if he started more matches! After saying all that what pleases me most is another clean sheet in the league! Long may that continue! COYR
Yate Saint Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 Good work. I wish people would lay off Barnard though. Give him a chance, only played 2 games.
St Landrew Posted 30 January, 2010 Author Posted 30 January, 2010 Have we got any closer to playoffs? Don't have league table to hand http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_2/8480751.stm Add to favourites..?
ericofarabia Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 3 points, clean sheet, job done ... albeit a bit shabbily, the 1st goal just about summed the game up. But Papa seemed to have been a breathe of fresh air. Trouble is with Barnard and Puncheon signing does this mean we won't be keeping him on after the end of the loan? Extra bonus 10 points in the prediction league
martyg1950 Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 Have we got any closer to playoffs? Don't have league table to hand Not really Millwall have 46 we have 33
hutch Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 Wycombe won away at Bristol Rovers. That helps a bit as well.
Ex Ringwood Saint Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 14 attempts on target according to beeb ! only 50% posession..But 3 points... shame Millwall won - 1-0 away...thats what the difference is between us and the play off teams..Home form is fine but if we don't pick up those away points it does not matter.... Still don't know what Barnard offers...Wago seems to have that X factor !!
hypochondriac Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 We were awful until papa came on. He was brilliant and a class above. He should start
saintsmike25 Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 Yeah, i've said before and I'll say it again Waigo upfront is something that Pardew should do again, winning flicks off Lambert and makes GREAT runs despite getting caught off-side and 8 goals when most games he plays out-wide? Has to start the next game, Barnard doesn't sound too promising, I'd say Pardew shouldn't be afraid of resting Lambert. We have 4 quality strikers battling for 2 places..
Thedelldays Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 a few results went our way.... MK drew Swindon drew charlton drew Brizzle lost if it even helps
St Landrew Posted 30 January, 2010 Author Posted 30 January, 2010 Swindon slipped up at Southend [2-2] after leading 2-0.
ericofarabia Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 Very happy..needed to win first half sounded shocking all round.... sounds like it changed when waigo came on..maybe he will start alongside lambert next week..? antonio sounded dangerous with his running and morgan sounded like he had a good 2nd half.. on to the next must win game Yay the prozac kicking in

After saying all that what pleases me most is another clean sheet in the league! Long may that continue! COYR why have we just paid money for Barnard then? We have Papa and Connolly and now we need a bloke from Crawley. Smacks of impulsive spending if you ask me..Barnard that is.
martel Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 3 points which was what mattered, but disappointing performance really for the majority of the game. Still, onwards and upwards As I can only follow this on the BBC text that was certainly the impression I got, however, if we can play badly and still get the three points that has to be a plus in my book.
Saint J 77 Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 A win is a win!!! up to 11th so thats not too bad. The play offs look unlikely at the moment but I guess until its not possible we can dream.

.comsaint Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 Don't understand all the gloom & doom on here. The result was never in question.
martel Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 Have we got any closer to playoffs? Don't have league table to hand Up to 11th in the table
Window Cleaner Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 Don't understand all the gloom & doom on here. The result was never in question. No gloom and doom for my part, I new we'd win but it's just this senseless splashing of the cash on crap like Barnard that irks me, when we have far better warming the bench.
doddisalegend Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 Good work. I wish people would lay off Barnard though. Give him a chance, only played 2 games. Ipswhich Brentford Stockport Make that three. We do have to give him more time but he has missed some good chances which is a worry.

ponto1963 Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 So how many points left to play for. What's the max we could get?? About 80 isn't it?
Window Cleaner Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 Danns still a transfer target for AP...according to Solent
hutch Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 Don't understand all the gloom & doom on here. The result was never in question. We're Saints. The result is ALWAYS in question.
trousers Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 Up to 11th in the tableApologies, I meant points rather than places
Thedelldays Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 13 points from 6th with a game in hand... hopefully we could be within 10 points with 10 games to go....then we really could do it.. we sure have the players to do so
Window Cleaner Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 So how many points left to play for. What's the max we could get?? 90 in total ?

The amount of changes are excessive and unnecessary and in addition the managers call ! I'm still not convinced by AP....
trousers Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 Danns still a transfer target for AP...according to Solent Thank **** for that...
Minty Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 No gloom and doom for my part, I new we'd win but it's just this senseless splashing of the cash on crap like Barnard that irks me, when we have far better warming the bench. Irks me that you think he's crap after barely two games. Give the guy a chance eh? From what I have seen he has worked really hard and got into some really good positions, and yes, his finishing so far has been poor but after two games, I think it's WAY too soon to be passing that kind of judgement.
doddisalegend Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 13 points from 6th with a game in hand... hopefully we could be within 10 points with 10 games to go....then we really could do it.. we sure have the players to do so On todays performance we may not, It took a lot to break down the worst team in the league. Having said that we have played much better than that so maybe if we up our game from now on.
