Four Nations tournament.

Scotland,Northern Ireland,Republic Of Ireland and Wales have agreed to stage This tournament from 2011.

 

Can't help feeling We have missed out,i used to love the regular "Home Nations" matches.

Those teams always have the summer off so have time for it in their schedule.

That tournament will become nothing more than an 'Anti-English love in'.

 

The most satisfying part of that tournament for those involved will be that England are not partaking in it,as if we had been excluded rather than having vetoed it.

I love the way that the English FA seem to think they're supreme to other nations. There are no tournaments that summer, so why not?

Plus, I think Scotland would cream England on current form (even if we have got GB as our manager...).

I wish England could beat France home and away in a competitive match like Scotland or beat Euro 2008 champs Spain at home like Northern Ireland.

A couple of the papers have the French FA wanting to do a tournament 6 Nations style with England, Spain, Germany and Italy involved.

There is nothing of value for taking part in such tournaments for England. We need to use friendlies to develop less experienced players, get comfortable with different formations and get used to playing different styles of international football. A home nations competition will be frenetic and not suitable for the above IMO.
