What a brilliant signing! When was the last time we had a left footed pacy, skilful, goal scoring winger in our squad??

I reckon he'll bring excellent balance to the side and hopefully be the sort of player to carve out the sort of chances that our free scoring strikers thrive on.

60 points still up for grabs. Bring on the playoff push!!

Wotton / Hammond -- Schneiderlin / James

Waigo/Ant----------Lallana------------Puncheon

------------------Lambo------------------

Looks good to me!

so why did we buy Barnard or sign Connolly ? No room for Lallana,Antonio/Waigo and Puncheon in our line up. Any 2 from 4

also Holmes, works hard despite being out in the cold, gets back in the side and wham, out on his arse.

There is a massive difference in the effect of wide on both touchlines as Utd play, or just one wide, which cramps the midfielders and promotes the lump it up top approach.

makes **** all difference where the wide men position themselves if centre halves always look for Lambert or Wotton hoofs it over his shoulder all day.

I actually don't see this `cramping of midfield' that you talk about. Yes Lallana cuts inside onto his right foot, but he doesn't come inside to recieve the ball and steal the space of others. He sits outside waiting for a pass. I'll watch that closely today.

My Pilgrims supporting pal from Glenrothes in Fife says that Plymouth fans have been surprised that Puncheon wasn't recalled from MKD because of the goals he was scoring, espacially as Plymouth can't buy a goal. Suggestion is that there's been something in his character that has held him back but that he's worth a try.

we signed them to give us options. We can and have played 4-5-1 and 4-4-2 in the same game. So having one or two spare makes total sense. Also if Lambert gets injured we need alternatives.

Holmes doesn't track his runners. He comes back, but he isn't goal side. It might be a lack of pace, or it might be a lack of effort. In my eyes he doesn't work hard enough. I realise that many disagree with me on Holmes, and if so then again we have options. Happy days.

me too. You can swap Lallana and Puncheon around in games as well. If Barnard has a stormer today then that will create a tough selection headache.

I am well pleased with the signings of late but I would really like to see a few more outgoings as well, and not just the players who don't figure in the first team at all.If we have no use for Thomas then we should get him out on loan,

idem Holmes and Gobern .Still I suppose it took all their time and energy to get shot of Saga.

Fantastic signing, really chuffed with that! We've been crying out for a wide player on the left for a long time now, and now we have that player in Puncheon I think it will enable Lallana to play a more central role where he is more comfortable.

I think we have enough CM options at the club if Gillett stays around. We have Wotton, Gillett, Schneiderlin, Gobern, Lallana and of course, Pulis. While they may not exactly be the best midfielders we have at the club, I think we'll do just fine. I'd play Schneiderlin and Lallana there with Wotton sitting just behind them, Antonio/Waigo on the right with Puncheon on the left and Lambert all up on his lonesome up front.

He spends a lot more time inside than out wide. He also is usually getting back out wide when the midfield receive the ball, he hardly ever gets wide first. It is a waste of time moving wide after we have the ball, he needs to be wide to receive the ball immediately we get it.

Because Ron is friends with his father and talks to him at the match, we tend to watch him very closely. We also know how he is told to play before the game.

Good signing, pleased with this. On a par with Leeds signing Gradel IMO and we all know what their expectations are!

He'll only be presented today, he won't play, but we shouldn't need him against bottom of the table Stockport. They players we have currently should prove enough. I bet MK Dons are ****ed!

It's a shame we're not bringing in a midfielder, but at least Puncheon can play in attack if needed so that calms my fears about not having enough strikers. That said, I still wouldn't be suprised to see one brought in before the end of the window, this management would love to suprise us, I'm sure. If the price is right, there'll be one more.

Wonder what Rupert makes of it all. Happy fans, a manager who's allowed to manage, a great Chairman and an owner who's confident enough of his staff, not to interfere. Still, it wasn't Rupes fault of course.

Rupert who? ;)

IMO we now have a great nucleus of CCC standard players (Lambert, Fonte, Harding, Hammond, Kelvin etc), complimented by some great young upper league 1 standard players (Antonio, Lallana, Barnard, Seaborne and now Puncheon), leaving us with a squad that will grow into a top 6 CCC side

As said many times already a fantastic signing - just watch what this boy brings to the team play regardless of where he plays. Same mould as Antonio but a cut above. I think we'll see the following team in future with many 442 or 451 options to interchange depending on the opposition etc...

Davis/Bart

Murty/Semi Jaidi/Thomas Fonte/Seaborne Harding/Fish

Antonio/Waigo Spiderman/Lallana Hammond/James Punch/Holmes

Lambo Bernie/Connolly

Fantastic squad to be fair, with many (if not all) good for the CCC.

Reserves to make the subs bench?: Wotton, Gillet, Perry, Pulis (only joking!)

if we play every game with 21 players, we're bound to win! :smt036

Also... "MK Dons have been very very professional; Southampton have been very professional, also, and I'm pleased to get this deal done"

Wouldn't expect anything less from Cortese... Av that Coleman!

Interpretation as :

Southampton have paid a generous sum for a player who never settled at Plymouth and wanted to move closer to London;MK Dons have done what they've been told because the player did not want to stay there..

Cortese is the top man,agreed.

Coleman remains, in my humble view, a whining Welsh spastic. And as said earlier about Incey-wincey at MK, he can 'Foxtrot Oscar'.

Ditto - Ranson at Lavatory City.
