kpturner Posted 29 January, 2010 Posted 29 January, 2010 (edited) On the OS it clearly says that from 18th January the MK Dons JPT tickets are on "restricted general sale" - two per ST holder and one per "supporter". However, I just went to the online ticketing service and ordered four tickets. It took my money without any complaint. I then went to the ticket office and gave them my order number and they handed over the tickets without question. Seems like it is pretty easy to bypass this restricted sale business. I could have requested that they be posted to me to avoid visiting the ticket office - but I wanted to be sure that I could get them into my grubby mits just to be sure. The Pompey tickets are also one per ST - but again I was able to go online and order 4 without any question. I got as far as the last screen - but decided not to finalise the order because I actually want my own seat for this game (the online system doesn't offer you your own seat!). So I picked up the Pompey tickets with my MK Dons tickets instead. It just so happens that I did have customer numbers for the other 3 tickets, so I haven't bought anything I was not entitled to, but the online system doesn't know this is is therefore open to abuse IMHO. Has anyone else managed to bypass the ticketing restrictions like this or did I just get lucky? Edited 29 January, 2010 by kpturner
PaulSaint Posted 29 January, 2010 Posted 29 January, 2010 I went online for pompey tickets yesterday & bought 2 quite easily. I own one season ticket but my wide did have a half season ticket in 2003!
This Charming Man Posted 29 January, 2010 Posted 29 January, 2010 If you had pressed the 'Buy' button for the Skate game it would have come up with an error message saying you have exceeded your allocation. All you've done by buying 4x MK Dons tickets is screw your mates out of a guaranteed ticket for Wembley, if we get there, as everyone who buys a ticket against a customer number get's priority for the final once STH's have got theirs.

I own one season ticket but my wide did have a half season ticket in 2003!Exactly (presumably you didn't get your own seat though). You could probably have asked for 10 and got them no problem. They do encourage people to use the online service to avoid phone congestion and queues - but they should probably point out the other benefit - you can order as many tickets as you like :-D What may happen is that when they process the order (i.e. to post them) that they notice this and do something about it - but will they really bother? I doubt it. They certainly didn't bother to check when I picked them up. The girl seemed quite pleased that she actually managed to find the order and print the tickets. I doubt she gave a toss about eligibility. I will say that today the ticket office is slow because most of the people are new and are being trained. Maybe a more experienced employee would have been more vigilant - but I doubt that too.

The only way you can guarantee four tickets together with the online system is to buy them with one order. You can get the tickets reallocated to other customer numbers after the event (and you can add them as "friends" on the system also). Edited 29 January, 2010 by kpturner
kpturner Posted 29 January, 2010 Author Posted 29 January, 2010 If you had pressed the 'Buy' button for the Skate game it would have come up with an error message saying you have exceeded your allocation. If this is true then: a) why didn't it do the same for the MK Dons tickets and b) how did PaulSaint manage to buy 2? I went online for pompey tickets yesterday & bought 2 quite easily. I own one season ticket but my wide did have a half season ticket in 2003!
StuRomseySaint Posted 29 January, 2010 Posted 29 January, 2010 I bought 2 tickets on 1 season ticket. Not going to tell you how... but I did. I also have 2 tickets guaranteed to Wembley, not going to tell you how... but I have!
PaulSaint Posted 29 January, 2010 Posted 29 January, 2010 If this is true then: a) why didn't it do the same for the MK Dons tickets and b) how did PaulSaint manage to buy 2? 2 tickets was actually the default option for me. Oh and I'm a Block 42er & so am being moved, maybe connected?
kpturner Posted 29 January, 2010 Author Posted 29 January, 2010 2 tickets was actually the default option for me. Oh and I'm a Block 42er & so am being moved, maybe connected? It always defaults to 2 it seems.

StuRomseySaint Posted 29 January, 2010 Posted 29 January, 2010 (edited) Are you a Leeds fan or an MK Dons fan? :-) Nope. To be honest I might as well tell you, as season ticket holders would have all bought tickets. It's not rocket science. I got my non-Saints supporting mate to buy my ticket, he has no intention of going to Wembley, but is now on the database as a Saints fan who bought a ticket to the MK Dons Final, hence he has priority after season ticket holders... or infact I do. I am a season ticket holder so I have a seat guaranteed. Easy peasy. I'm not telling anyone how I got 2 tickets for the P*mpey game though, don't want everyone else jumping on the bandwagon. Edited 29 January, 2010 by StuRomseySaint

Block 5 Posted 29 January, 2010 Posted 29 January, 2010 Obviously anyone who cheats the system will be found out. They will have their tickets confiscated. They will then be arrested, charged with fraudulently obtaining tickets and then boiled in oil.

Glasgow_Saint Posted 29 January, 2010 Posted 29 January, 2010 Im not a season ticket holder but just managed to buy 100 tickets online no problemo. These are now for sale - £100 each
Tractor_Saint Posted 29 January, 2010 Posted 29 January, 2010 (edited) On the OS it clearly says that from 18th January the MK Dons JPT tickets are on "restricted general sale" - one ticket per ST holder. Nope - two tickets per ST holder, otherwise the restricted general is one ticket per supporter (interestingly doesn't say that supporter = customer number so spose you could argue that all 4 tickets you bought were one per supporter!) Can confirm though that you wouldn't have got the FA Cup tickets as it does the check when you attempt to buy them Edited 29 January, 2010 by Tractor_Saint
Block 5 Posted 29 January, 2010 Posted 29 January, 2010 I have tested the online system. I tried different permutations to buy more tickets than I should be allowed for the poopey game. It did not work.

That still doesn't explain why it allowed me to get 4!
The Cat Posted 29 January, 2010 Posted 29 January, 2010 I appear to have bought 4 Pompey tickets with only 2 season tickets. Selected them online as normal. Went through to the last page but before clicking to confirm decided I'd better check my bank account in a different tab to make sure I'd been paid. Went back to confirm but when I clicked to do this a pop up box appeared telling me one of the seats had been taken. Went back in and did it again. Got offered 2 seats next to the previous ones I'd selected and proceeded without any problem. Then checked my account history and found 2 orders had been created, both for 2 tickets. Now waiting to see how many tickets turn up and how much has been debited from my account.

Maybe if you do this then it assumes any excess is allocated to the other customer numbers - but how it decides which one(s) I don't know. I have asked David Luker but so far no reply.

StuRomseySaint Posted 29 January, 2010 Posted 29 January, 2010 Our group bought 19 tickets alltogether with 10 season tickets.

Did you link the other ST to your account using the "Add Friend" option?
jasoneuelllfanclub Posted 29 January, 2010 Posted 29 January, 2010 for the JPT final at wembley according to OS STH will be allowed to buy 2 tickets. Then preference will be given to supporters who attended the MK Dons Area Final (home or away). One ticket per supporter. It does not state about one per customer number so surely it would be one wembley ticket per area final ticket stub?

I already have two friends (ST holders) liked to my account. I tried to buy 6 tickets in total, 4 adults and 2 kids. I used the 2 linked friends. When I got to the final confirmation the system spat my order back at me and said "You are not allowed to buy tickets for this game yet or you have used more than your allocation. You cannot proceed with this order".

Of course, my 4 were for the JPT so perhaps they have not applied the restrictions to that game in the online system.
jasoneuelllfanclub Posted 29 January, 2010 Posted 29 January, 2010 Just spoke to ticket office and they confirmed should we get to wembley then it is one ticket per customer number. if you are not on database already and buy ticket when they go one general sale then you will be given a customer number.
Dr Octopus Posted 29 January, 2010 Posted 29 January, 2010 Can anyone help me? I cannot remember my e-mail, password or user name for my account. Anyone know how I can get this sorted? Thanks.

How can you not know your email address (or are you saying you cannot remember the address you used when registering)?

It would seem that you are right and there are no online restrictions. I doubt that this game will sell out. I will try to buy poopey tickets in batches of 2 against the 3 ST holder accounts.

westofshannonsaint Posted 29 January, 2010 Posted 29 January, 2010 (edited) I know tickets for Wembley are going to be like gold dust, but if anyone does have a spare ticket please remember the Overseas Saints, Ive booked the time off (not confirmed because of my stupid job), but think I will book the flights anyway & head over in hope and end up watching the game in a pub near the ground. ...so if anyone can spare a ticket please keep the Overseas Saints in mind. *I am quite confident about saints for the first time in years, the smile is plastered across my face with the thoughts of the Saints resurgence. the future is bright.... its Red and White. The club have already stated that ST holders can get two each and then prioroty is those who went to the MK Dons 2nd leg.
westofshannonsaint Posted 29 January, 2010 Posted 29 January, 2010 Er....... assuming we get to Wembley? lol that's why I added the edit, but yes there is that voice in the back of the my head. "it is Saints, you know? do you need to take off the red and white tinted glasses?" is what it asks, but it is getting quieter. I have to say it is an exciting time to be a Saints Fan, even if the play-offs are looking less likely.

Rebel Posted 29 January, 2010 Posted 29 January, 2010 I've got 5 season tickets but couldn't buy any Pompey tickets online last night - not 10, not 5, not even 1! So I went down to the ticket office this morning and got 5 Pompey tickets! But I'm now the only one of the 5 season ticket holders who can make the game - 2 our away for the weekend ad it's Valentines, one has a commitment he is deperately trying to get out off but it would let about 100 people down! And my sister won't let my nephew go as he under 8! Mind you I got 8 tickets for the MK Dons game when I bought the 5 half season tickets - just created memberships then and there for 4 people! Does that mean I can get 18 tickets if we make it too Wembley!
kpturner Posted 30 January, 2010 Author Posted 30 January, 2010 Explanation from Mr Luker regarding ability to buy more than advertised allocation amount for the MK Dons game online: "I’ve already take the “brake” off given the amount of tickets left, and with general sale looming."

You don't have to use it.
Saint137 Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 I got two Pompey tickets online early on Thursday morning. Only have 1 season ticket so no idea how - I just tried it on. Almost wasn't expecting them to turn up but they arrived in the post this morning. If I try to buy more now it won't let me though...
CitySaint Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 I have tried the online system to over-buy my quota, but it categorically will not let me, I believe some porky-pies are coming out for sensationalism !!!
LGTL Posted 30 January, 2010 Posted 30 January, 2010 Have to say I do also wonder whether people ar ebeing totally honest about the number of tickets they're buying.
