Interesting how there's no news dated 28/1/2010 on the OS yet... Usually there's some form of news up by now. Maybe they're awaiting confirmation of this (or another) deal before putting something on there?

Btw, the Puncheon bid is in the Mirror today (£300k, £6k per week wages) and they've been pretty spot on recently (Fonte, Barnard etc).

that price is a bit more like it.

I do question the decision to get rid of Paterson, only to get rid of saga a few days later. only three strikers is not great

plus Waigo, Antonio and Lallana should we be short. Saga had to go, maybe Paterson was a must for the Barnard deal to go through. In the end it all comes down to the fact that AP doesn't rate him. A young player though is sureley worth waiting for to see if he will develop, especially if you have other players filling the birth so you could loan him out if need be. Mabe 4-5-1 is on the cards so no need to have lots of strikers. Doubt it though.

Although I thought one of our better performances (Walsall away) was achieved without Lallana(came on near the end).We lined up James,Hammond,Schneiderlin,Antonio that day (or so I seem to remember) with Lambert and Connolly and we totally dominated them. You have to ask yourself do we really need Lallana now.

Whilst he has been a waste of a shirt in the last 3 away games, I must mention that he did start in that particular game and probably had his last excellent performance. IMHO.

Antonio came on as sub, which I feel he should most games.

This guy is good, and certainly would add to us, as he's been having a great season at MK Dons, a team on the up and who will be in or around the playoffs come the end of the season.

The MK Dons fans fear that their season is over if Puncheon is to join us. Seeing them twice this season they were poor enough with him playing.

OK stand corrected, but we did start with 3 real midfielders and Lallana instead

of the wishy washy 2 midfielders plus Antonio and Lallana set up that we used on Tuesday. As I said on tuesday it might well work in the CCC but in this league you need steel and oomph especially on cabbage patches like Brentford's.

Starting with Wootton,James,Lallana and Antonio was suicidal. If he must do that at least have the sense to use Papa instead of Antonio, or are we now totally obsessed with the long throw?

You are clueless if you think Antonio offers nothing more than a long throw.

Not to mention the fact that we don't ALWAYS use it as some people suggest.

Um. Antonio is utter crap.

Didn't use it much on Tuesday, I was starting to wonder if he had a bad back or something.

The last few games he has proved otherwise. Scored in 2, and came really close against Brentford; fingertip save denied him. Not to mention his constant threat and pace. Trust me, I've been to the last three games, in fact I've been to most games this season, and I see constant improvement from Antonio.

He's not utter crap but he needs to be the 1 forward player in a 4 man midfield,

he's raw and as far as I can see has no defensive qualities.

Though he did seem to be better defensively than Otsemobor on Tuesday....

Was poor v MK Dons. Scored, nothing else.

Ps- i do not trust you.

He defends loads for an attacking player.

But where doe he do it?, he shouldn't be back in our box, that's too far back, the midfield need to be defending no lower than half way into our half. Being there doesn't count, needs to be tacking hard and winning ball.

He is quite clearly not. Did you go on Tuesday? I assume not, he was our most dangerous player. Did you watch the semi final of the st Johnston's paint? Do you plan to go to the final? As his excellent goal has given us a chance of that. did you go to Bristol Rovers where he scored one and set one up?

He is quite clearly not the finished article but could be very good.

Idiot

Antonio has a lot of potential , At the moment he reminds me of a young Kenwynne Jones, he used to get a permaent slagging in his early days with us and look how KJ turned out. It is time the impatient brigade got off Antonio,s Back, he is very young and learning but if I was AP I would be happy with his progress.

You're a fag.

Agreed I like Antonio and think he gets alot undeserved stick he's only 19 and still improving. Rather see waigo shipped off

Nice to see a thread about a supposed exciting signing has turned into a slagging match about Antonio. Have sky really jumped the gun on Puncheon or is there actually legs in this? Anyone ITK at all?

All they stated is that we've agreed a fee with Plymouth, they didn't say we've signed the player like in the Elliott Wars situation. Sky reported a number of stories yesterday where clubs have agreed a fee with another club.

Sky haven't jumped the gun this time.

Didnt go tuesday, was on call. Watched the JPT though, thought he was poor, good goal yes, but generally poor. Cannot cross and often fails to find a man full stop.

v B.R, saw his goal, pretty sure he slipped as he shot hence scuffing it into the deck and fooling the keeper. Didnt go to the game, working.

MK Dons' defence shít themselves everytime he got the ball and ran at them, and he nearly set up Lambert.

PS - :(

Shat themselves then turned round and waited for the next goal kick after he overran/planted one into the stands......

"Was poor v MK Dons. Scored, nothing else"

So him not scoring and a draw would have been better?

Did i say that? He scored but did little else of merit. Can throw it and can run.

Which game and why?

Pretty much every game i have watched him play.

thanks.

he is sh*t

He's young raw and inconsistant but i think we have a gem if he has that flair to produce moments of magic in games, such as at Brentford and against MK Dons, scored the winner to set up a clash against Pompey.

His workrate is pretty damn good too, what he lacks is decision making which is what you get from MOST young players, Stevo you're one of those annoying negative posters who just post absolute ****.

you think he decides to over hit a cross or just boot it into the crowd then?

Stevo you spastic, he's raw but so was Kenwyn, you really are a knob

thanks.

he is sh*t

you two really are a pair of plonkers, point to saintkitkat though, Antonio is raw, only bloody 18/19 too.

He has the ability to just randomly create a goalscoring opp from nothing.

Berks.

Saint_Stevo also forgets Antonio is 19 years old and has only recently come from non league. He didn't have academy coaching. He is raw and has a lot of good attributes which given time and good coaching could make him into a good player.

Every winger who has ever played professional football over hits a cross or puts it in the crowd from time to time never mind one who is 19 and was playing non league football 12 months ago.

Lets see what hes like in a couple of years time shall we ?

My hunch is that Puncheon will join at the end of the season and that Arfield fella will come in tomorrow.

Still i could be puncheon above my weight with this sort of ITK prediction

You're quite right.

We should bench him for now and let him develop and make more use of Papa Waigo who isn't still learning his trade and is a good player now.
