Jason Puncheon to Saints according to SSN

If true this would be a fantastic signing !!!!!!

Though if MK's had the choice of whether or not to rip his contract up why would they ??

Strange situation if true and i am not entirely convinced yet (but v v excited)

Still think we need a CM/DM still imo

Frankly if the player is only on loan and says he's got a shot at a permanent deal and wants to go then MK Dons realistically can't stand in his way. Technically of course they could but they'd be left with a player who would resent the club and really wouldn't want to be there. The only way to recover the situation for them is to offer a permanent deal to Puncheon and if they can do that then fair play to them.

Personally I think a left sided midfielder / winger is what we need. It frees up lallana, who I don't think is best on the wing and gives us more of a chance to deliver better crosses. Let's face it if you've got Lambert and Barnard up front then you want to provide as many quality chances as you can.

True and we don't do enough of it.

Don't rate Hammond, i feel we have better at the club,

Who do you feel is better out of interest? I can't see that the likes Wotton, Gillet or James are better than Hammond. Spiderman? A matter of debate, but I don't think a combination of any of these are particularly effective.

If Puncheon is a more of a winger then I still think we lack someone in the middle of the park to play with either Hammond or Spiderman on a regular basis.

This is now on his Wikipedia page

"According to Sky Sports' sources on 26th January Plymouth FC had accepted a bid from Southampton for an undisclosed fee"

Surely the undisclosed fee bit means it's a done deal...

I would be very surprised with any loan agreement if there isn't a clause covering the situation of the players home club wanting to transfer the player permanently.

I don't know, i suppose i did jump the gun a little.

Personally i think spiderman is a better player and james will be a better prospect.

Wotton as terrible as he is seems to be a destructive enough playing DM in a 3 man midfield but hopeless in a two man.

IMO we could do with an extra DM.

Hammond hasn't impressed up to his name and hype when he joined.

I'm confused as to how cup tieing works.

How come Fonte, Seabourne and Ostemobor were all cup tied for Ipswich but Barnard wasn't? Even though he only signed the day before.

They all played for their previous clubs except Barnard who was suspended for Southend's only FA Cup tie.

I'm not sure where the complication is Barnard hadn't played in the fa cup this year therefor not cup tied....

IIRC 'Cup-Tied' is when a player has already played in the same competition for a different side. Hence, Fonte hadn't playing in the JPT as he hadn't played in that comp but couldn't play in the FA Cup as he'd already represented his previous team.

So we won't pay £800,000 for Stock but we'll pay £1m for Puncheon. :-o

firstly Stock is out of contract in the summer so to pay £800,000 for him now is extravagent. As for Puncheon, he signed for £250,000 and failed to shine at CCC level so a million sounds a shed lot to me despite him having a decent season so far.
