Pompey ticket details announced.

Let's get something straight, I will put it on both ticket threads, I defy anyone to try and think up a reason why they feel they are being hard done by.

The database has been in place for 9 years ( NINE YEARS ) , during these 9 years we have had numerous 'database only' sales, such as Man Utd games, and other games where the allocation has sold out quickly.

I would estimate there have been at least 20 games in that 9 year period which were DATABASE ONLY ( this means you have to be on the database to get a ticket ) , also, whenever you book online of over the phone, you have to be on the database if it is yourself booking the tickets.

Now as I said, there have been at least 20 'database only' games in the last 9 years, it's not a new thing so there is NO EXCUSE for not being on the database, regardless of whom may get your tickets for you.

Let's add to this, the club are very generously allowing you to purchase a ticket for ONE extra game this season, and letting you choose!!! If any of you are whinging about having to purchase just one more ticket between now and the end of the season, you don't f*cking well deserve a ticket!!!

Season Ticket Holders... if you are moaning about not being able to sit next to your non-season ticket holding mate... wait till they hit general sale and get a ticket with him! It won't sell out on the first day!

Lastly, the cost... £28... get a grip people, it's not expensive, it's cheaper than a Premier League game, it's the SOUTH COAST DERBY for f*cks sake. The most ironic thing is if the board had not been so sensible and reduced prices this season then none of you lot would be moaning because the mark-up wouldnt be as much.

Ticket Priority = FAIR

Price = FAIR

I am open to someone trying to tell me wrong?

In summary... if you are not on the database then you don't deserve a ticket, so think yourself lucky if you get one. If you are not on the database, then buy a ticket for Saturdays game and you will be! There is no excuse for anyone not being able to get a ticket.

Exactly, stop moaning/whinging it's simple. Personally I'm delighted with the way they are doing it, be dwn there early on the thursday with my numbers, yeaasshhh!!

Mmmm! Not convinced but in the words of DannySFC, We Will See!

No SRS is absolutely right,if you have a name and a customer no.( which for all ex members was the number on your membership card),you can buy as many as you like and all sit together.

To be fair, with possible play-offs (along with other big games) not just this year, but also over previous years, I'm suprised at people claiming they've not put a single ticket purchase against a customer number...

I got two MK dons home tickets on two seperate customer number next to each other (I certainly hope!) just last week when it went on restricted general sale.

Well with respect some of us have been supporting saints for over 50 years and have literally paid to see thousands of matches. Some of us have been at all the Wembley finals and even the Nots Councty match in the 1980s when we came runners up.

I go to quite a lot of away games each season - I was even at the northampton Cup match - but i buy the tickets from the ground or from midlands saints - whether i am on the club's database who knows? Hopefully i can get tickets through the Midlands saints. If there was a membership scheme I would be a member and not have these problems. I suspect i may be forced to watch it on ITV instead of being able to be there.

You should.

There was a membership scheme right up until the beginning of this season.

Were you a member then? Or at any time in the last 9 years?

Have you ever bought a ticket via the telephone from SMS?

If the answer is yes to any of the above questions, chill out, relax and we'll see you at the game.

If the answer to all the above questions is no, then you are obviously a fish fiddler on the blag. ;)

I think the way they've done it, kind of encourages plastic fans and works against those with a good history of match attendance.

I've lived in Ireland since early September, having been to all the home games this season before leaving, and the Exeter match while I was back during Christmas, and I have a season ticket for the two previous seasons while I lived in England.

I've already booked a flight over for this match, however I'm not going to be able to go to Walsall, and fear that the JCLs will snap them all up by the time they are on non-linked sale. I geuss I'll have to pick a match towards the end of the season when I should be back in the UK?

lol, if you move away from Southampton you don't enter a hall of fame or something.

If you can't buy another ticket between now and the end of the season, even if you don't go, then you don't deserve a ticket. Simples.

Ironically, I just booked a flight on Friday in a few weeks from Bournemouth to Dublin and back for £30 return!!! I spend more than £30 in drunken transportation on a matchday, and I only live 7 miles away!!! I am sure you can plan ahead and make another game... if you can't then it's you that's the JCL

Ha, that'll be the same Ryanair route I booked, but it was €40, although as an unpaid intern I can't really afford to be buying tickets to games that I'm not going to. Have fun in Dublin, but be warned, pints are pretty expensive!

I should be back for the later part of season, so I'll have to get a game for then or else give the ticket to my brother.

Can't argue with how they've done it.

My brother and I will be down there on the 4th at a stupid hour, wrapped up warm and with a stash of junkfood and lads mags to while away the hours until they open the ticket office.

As long as we don't play like we did last night it'll be worth it.

I don't really think there is the need for that to be honest, there is still going to be circa 15,000 tickets available at 9am on the 4th.

no need to wait around from 4am or anything..

the last time we played them in the FA Cup, we had about twice as many season ticket holders and we also had member etc...and there were a few pockets of empty seats dotted around the ground..

that was with all the arry goings on so there "added spice" of this fixture (if it needs it) was also there at that time..

Weren't there massive queues for the Utd game?

I managed to avoid it that time as a friend who is a season ticket holder sorted me out.

Tickets will be in high demand and I don't want to miss out.

True but I will be there early as I want decent tickets, don't want to be stuck in the Chapel or the centre with the Kenneths. The last FA cup game against them I was half way in the Kingsland and it was like a normal game.

As some have said - Why? ST holders have a few days to claim their tickets don't they so why is there a need to get to the ticket office rather than phone / web?

Think some people just want to make sure they get their seats. Thankfully mine were still available, but it's happened before where STHs have been "guaranteed" their seats and they've been sold to someone else.

I'm not getting mine till next week. They sell my seat in Block 41 there will be hell to pay. :)

Well I was sh*tting it with the "block 41 nearly sold out" comment above.

Never had a problem before and don't expect to either. I think the comment means those moving from 42 to 41 are taking up the spare seats - Quite a few season ticket holders in 41 i would imagine.

28 January 2010

By David Hurley

Pompey's official website is down after the club failed to keep up with payments to the operator.

A club spokesman confirmed to The News Pompey failed to keep to the payment plan with the company Juicy.

Juicy then shut down the website.

Pompey do not yet know when the website will be up and running again.

Are there massive queues down there, does anyone know?

Doubt it, effectively the only people in a rush today will be the people moving to Itchen North... the rest have a few days to claim their seat.

i got there for 9am and it was very busy. Good to see

A good idea for those who don't like queing / or holding on the phone is to FAX the ticket office 0870 2200179.

That way, you can get all your linked friends customer numbers tickets at the same time.

The only downside is that you don't know you've got a ticket till it lands on the doormat. (Or check your customer history online to see if the sale went through.)

Its a slightly risky stategy, but it worked for me in big games like the Wolves 6th Round and both the Derby PO games

Why do so many people spend time queueing for tickets at the Box office? Have none of you pikeys got a debit card to buy over the phone?

I've slept at the box office, complete with newspapers, sleeping bag and flask.

Had to get tkts for Derby home and away, can't remember how it came about but they went to general sale (probably after selling 2 per ST holder or some such), drove down on the Thu pm at 7-00, camped out at the ground from 10-00 Thu night, grabbed tickets at 9-00(?) the next day - back in work for 12-00 Friday - then drove back down to Soton the next day for the Saturday lunchtime kick off, and then to the away leg on the following Tue(?). A few Saints miles that week!

Also slept out overnight at the Dell for '76 semi tickets; considering that there were only 4 of us that slept out properly for the Derby game and they were all younger than me I could quite possibly be the 'only' person who has slept out for tickets at both the Dell and at SMS. I assume that nobody has slept over for any other SMS games?
