saint lard Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 they were due in the high court tomorrow to face HMRC,probably thought we are never going to be able to satisfy them tomorrow so lets do admin. Could'nt afford to pay the staff and players, transfer embargo and a meeting in the high court, all sounds very familiar.

dubai_phil Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 Shame but in some ways it's amazing they've kept going as long as they have this season. Another tick in the box for the greed of the players, agents and those who set the Premier League up in such a way that it was always going to happen. So much TV money and all the clubs are broke. Well done a big round of applause to the rule makers and administrators for letting it get to this. Don't like 'em much but sympathy to the Palace fans
amsterdam Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 they were due in the high court tomorrow to face HMRC,probably thought we are never going to be able to satisfy them tomorrow so lets do admin. Could'nt afford to pay the staff and players, transfer embargo and a meeting in the high court, all sounds very familiar. Is this the case? Then maybe if they can get a buyer in quickly it might be a "smart" move (OK "smart" in the sense of "desperate measure")? Didn't we try to service our debts by flogging off the few gems we had at knock-off prices? Even with the 10 point deduction, they're still clear of relegation, and if they can come through this and still keep players like Moses, Danns and Spironi they should be OK... Still, I feel for the fans; they don't deserve the gut-wrenching despair that they are going through (as we did last year). Always seemed a good footballing side and not a bunch of big-time Charlies - I still remember that FA Cup semi-final against Liverpool; as a neutral, one of the most enjoyable games I've seen. benjii Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 This is what will happen the day before the Skate's winding-up petition is presented, unless someone lends them the £7m (or whatever it is) or they get bought. Very real possibility of our Cup match being their first since losing 9 points!

krissyboy31 Posted 27 January, 2010 Share Posted 27 January, 2010 I see that Victor Moses has been withdrawn from tonight's squad to avoid (as the most saleable asset) being injured. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11688_5888843,00.html
