brianoneils slidingtackle Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 I think with a -10 they are still six points from the relegation zone, lets hope they survive to stick two fingers up to the football league

martel Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 Giving Palace -10 points won't help them or punish those responsible(they leave the day of admin like Lowe did at Saints). It may lead to them getting relegated possibly and harder to make money in League One and start a vicious circle meaning more problems in the future. Well done Lord Malwhinney! I have to second this post, Malwhinney's whole reasoning behind the ten point penalty was to stop it from happening; well guess what is does not work so what purpose does it fullfill other than cause more potential misery and make it harder to find buyers, the man is so out of touch it really is not funny; as like others on here my sympathy to the Palace fans. Whitey Grandad Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 Currently 9th with 37 pts, will be 20th with 27 pts (4 points above bottom 3). 10 pts is just for starters, there could be more depending on the final outcome.

Window Cleaner Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 10 pts is just for starters, there could be more depending on the final outcome. but only if they don't obey the rules. THe extra points are for other offences and various jiggery pokery which cause administration for illegal purposes. If you go into admin in the state of the art you get docked 10 pts. there are no other penalties in normal cases, unless of course you keep on doing it. They've " earned " 37 points so far . Minus -10 drops them down to 20th place..now they have a relegation battle to fight ..if they can be salvaged ! Aren't there more sanctions depending on how you exit from administration and the form of the CVA?
up and away Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 But Palace may well be able to ride out the 10 point deduction and still stay in the CCC, that's the difference. for the time being their debts will be less pressing and matchday income will be used solely for paying current expenses. That investors lose their cash, well tough titty on them but eventually the football club may well benefit,as we have seen with Saints. I really doubt Palace will be able to ride it out. The administrators will be looking to get cash in for anything that is not nailed down and very little time in the transfer window to do it. It's bargain bucket time at the moment and could work out well for Saints. Just as we had with Walcott and Bale, can easily see a reduced early settlement on the Fonte deal and maybe a player or two! They have no ground and by going into administration it would not surprise me if any rental agreement can get reviewed if not void. Who would not, if you are sitting there with 5 aces. All the conditions are right for Palace to go out of existence, no ground, small crowds and nothing of to mention of in assets or facilities. As we saw with Saints, that was winning the lottery and you don't get too many of those about!
sussexsaint Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 Someone in the lounge has posted that the Skates are taking the ****** on their forums, which just goes to underlinewhat a bunch of t wats they really are. I will never forget the lurch in my stomach I felt when I heard it on radio 5 driving. I wouldn't wish it on any fan, especially not in these times when investment is scarce

Dark Munster Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 At least they didn't wait until after the date when the point deduction would carry over to the next season. No Chairman would be that stupid/vindictive. Oh.
sadoldgit Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 I must admit to having a quiet chortle. Jordan gave Lowe heaps when we were struggling finacially. Not so smug now though is he?
