Matthew Le God Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 Giving Palace -10 points won't help them or punish those responsible(they leave the day of admin like Lowe did at Saints). It may lead to them getting relegated possibly and harder to make money in League One and start a vicious circle meaning more problems in the future. Well done Lord Malwhinney! We should get Ambrose.. Nope, that's another company now. Although I believe that company is in administration. This article has a bit more about it: http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard-sport/football/article-23792594-if-youve-got-a-heart-simon-jordan-quit-crystal-palace-pleads-ron-noades.do I've never had the impression that Noades was particularly benevolent to Palace, what with keeping hold of the stadium even after selling the club to Goldberg. To be honest, while I've got sympathy for the fans, other clubs raped and pillaged us when we were in the same situation, so now the boot's on the other foot I'd be disappointed if we weren't looking to take advantage. JRM Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 does that mean we should have waited a couple of weeks and knocked reduced the price of the Fonte deal? st alex Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 Victor Moses would do nicely, although I'm sure he's out of our league. Danns would also be nice. It is a shame though as Palace tend to produce a lot of their own good youngsters and never really overspent. Although didn't this have something to do with Jordan getting fed up with the FA tribuneral's compensation deal for a youngster that left to spurs? He said the football autorities had double standards and refused to put any more money into the club as a sulk/protest, or something similar? The idea of it is to act as a deterrant against getting into financial difficulty in the first place. There isn't an awful lot else the authorities can do to regulate the financial stability of clubs - a wage cap would technically be illegal and clubs would just get around it with "image rights" payments etc (see Sol Campbell), and they can't be seen to bail clubs out as that wouldn't be fair on those who do run their clubs sensibly. Saint Samuel Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 I feel for them, but football is a dog eat dog world, Surman, Dyer and McGoldrick all left in the summer when we were in administration, reckon we would've got a bit more for them if the situation was different. saintfully Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 Sympathetic towards the fans (although Brighton mates will probably already be in the pub cheering), but always thought Jordan was a bit of a tit - his hair was particularly annoying. Saint Keith Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 whats more interesting is does this mean simon jordan is skint? he was worth about £50 million when he bought palace. is he now skint, or has he just stopped subsidising the losses? Window Cleaner Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 But Palace may well be able to ride out the 10 point deduction and still stay in the CCC, that's the difference. for the time being their debts will be less pressing and matchday income will be used solely for paying current expenses. That investors lose their cash, well tough titty on them but eventually the football club may well benefit,as we have seen with Saints.

Really feel for the Palace fans, and I'm sure they'll be gutted to see their prize assests leave which they will now of course At least they've gone into administration at a time when they can still actually get some revenue from selling players. They'd have been in dire trouble had they gone into administration this time next week. I feel sorry that they'll lose their best players in the next week but the money they could potentially raise from selling Victor Moses alone could keep the club going for a while. Rational Rich Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 Didn't Simon Jordan say something about Saints being cheats for going into administration and that we should be kicked out of the league or did I imagine that? Gravesend Saint Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 Definitely feel sorry for them. Palace has always been a bit of a "second club" as I was born not far up the road before moving to the Isle of Wight (hence supporting Saints). Wasn't nice when it happened to us so I hope they find a buyer soon.
