Palace in Administration

Giving Palace -10 points won't help them or punish those responsible(they leave the day of admin like Lowe did at Saints).

It may lead to them getting relegated possibly and harder to make money in League One and start a vicious circle meaning more problems in the future.

Well done Lord Malwhinney!

Can see Noades back in there soon..although he will not help Jordan......

I believe Noades still owns the ground/stadium and training ground.

We should get Ambrose..

Nope, that's another company now. Although I believe that company is in administration. This article has a bit more about it:

http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard-sport/football/article-23792594-if-youve-got-a-heart-simon-jordan-quit-crystal-palace-pleads-ron-noades.do

I've never had the impression that Noades was particularly benevolent to Palace, what with keeping hold of the stadium even after selling the club to Goldberg.

Edit: On BBC now...

I feel for them genuinely.

I want us to strengthen but not at the expense of a club like this.

To be honest, while I've got sympathy for the fans, other clubs raped and pillaged us when we were in the same situation, so now the boot's on the other foot I'd be disappointed if we weren't looking to take advantage.

does that mean we should have waited a couple of weeks and knocked reduced the price of the Fonte deal?

And if Mark Fry is appointed administrator surely our contacts will allow us to have the pick of their squad at mates rates prices?

Victor Moses would do nicely, although I'm sure he's out of our league. Danns would also be nice.

It is a shame though as Palace tend to produce a lot of their own good youngsters and never really overspent. Although didn't this have something to do with Jordan getting fed up with the FA tribuneral's compensation deal for a youngster that left to spurs? He said the football autorities had double standards and refused to put any more money into the club as a sulk/protest, or something similar?

Absoultely,

You'd like to think that the football league as a members association would try and help one of its members rather than punish them.

I understand that they're trying to make sure clubs avoid administration but IMHO there are better ways.

Really feel for the Palace fans, and I'm sure they'll be gutted to see their prize assests leave which they will now of course

The idea of it is to act as a deterrant against getting into financial difficulty in the first place.

There isn't an awful lot else the authorities can do to regulate the financial stability of clubs - a wage cap would technically be illegal and clubs would just get around it with "image rights" payments etc (see Sol Campbell), and they can't be seen to bail clubs out as that wouldn't be fair on those who do run their clubs sensibly.

i agree, if they adhere to the same rules for all then that is fine.

If these rules had been in when Pompey went into admin they would now be gone. Mandaric would never have taken them on

Spot on. What other Industry Body kicks its members when they are down - and seems to take pleasure from doing this? They dont even realise the irony that it is, at least in some part, their fault

But Palace may well be able to ride out the 10 point deduction and still stay in the CCC, that's the difference. for the time being their debts will be less pressing and matchday income will be used solely for paying current expenses.

That investors lose their cash, well tough titty on them but eventually the football club may well benefit,as we have seen with Saints.

At least they've gone into administration at a time when they can still actually get some revenue from selling players. They'd have been in dire trouble had they gone into administration this time next week. I feel sorry that they'll lose their best players in the next week but the money they could potentially raise from selling Victor Moses alone could keep the club going for a while.
