Yay, another "choose or die" thread.

If it were a definite choice of winning the play-offs or Pompey, then promotion for me, we can beat the Skates next season.

Oh super!

Another thread where we have to choose one of two mutually exclusive options.

"I'll go higher Bruce."

Struggling with the rhetorical nature of the thread are we?

Indeed.

And all the other threads getting me to choose one thing or the other.

Why have these things all got to be mutually exclusive?

I should start a new thread, we could have a poll.....

"Do you want to beat the fish fiddlers AND win the JPT AND get to the play offs?

YES or NO".

By the way, the question you pose is not a rhetorical one.

:D

Fair enough, I stand corrected. However, I don't see anything to suggest the two were mutually exclusive.

I'd prefer you to buy me a beer rather than a cider, but that doesn't suggest there's anything to stop you buying either, both, or even a snakebite.

I know everyone wants us to go up this year, and so do I. However provided we can keep all our players it would be nice to have a season where we actually for once 'walk the league' - TBF Playoffs are going to be a streatch if you look at the points and the teams above us.

JPT would be a great day out for the players and the fans and be a massive thank you to ML

Skates would mean more to most of us as fans than the players or owners.

Ok..... I want to beat Poopey AND get in to the play offs.

And if we do both I'll buy you a beer AND a cider AND a snakebite!

;)

By the way the thread title ":Play offs OR beating Pompey" would indicate that they are mutually exclusive.

HTH.

In all the excitement over the draw I wondered where a game against our fishy rivals comes in people's priorities?

Without a doubt, completely SECONDARY

The PLAYOFFS are 10000 times more important:cool:

Thanks, I'll take you up on that.

Over those well earned drinks we can discuss whether the implication was choice or preference. Or just how crap the fishy lot have become

Beating Skatesmuff. If we get in the play offs we will have to beat two very good teams to actually gain promotion.

Anyway, as long as the players are committed to the cause, and they all stick around next season, we should actually "walk this league". I think it would do the club good to have another season of feel good factor, winning games most weeks. THEN we can go into the Championship super confident of doing a Leicester and challenging for the play offs in 2012.

playoffs defo.

Be interesting to see what the geographical split is for the varying opinions on this. I for example am not from Southampton (from Oxford) and tend to dislike Swindon jsut as much if not more than Pompy. I would also prefer us to get to the playoffs.

Not saying i don't REALLY want us to win both..
