Back then it was creatures ... Spurs - ****erels, Millwall - Lions, Norwich - Canaries, Wolves, Watford - Hornets. Unfortunately we got shot down by The Gunners  This time we have Occupations ... Bristol Rvrs - Pirates (or Gas Heads!!), Northampton - Cobblers, Luton - Hatters, Ipswich - Tractor Boys and now Fish fiddling gypsies, tramps and thieves
Hatch Posted 25 January, 2010 Posted 25 January, 2010 Barcelona in the QF perhaps? And Brazil in the final ??????? :-) LOL, very good
JRM Posted 25 January, 2010 Posted 25 January, 2010 On a similar topic, when was the last time we had this many cup games in a season? my guess is 1992 when we got to ZDS cup final and FA Cup 1/4 final (with lots of replays on the way) So far we have : Carling Cup Northampton Birmingham JPT Torquay Charlton Norwich MK Dons away MK Dons home FA Cup Bristol Rovers Northampton Luton Ipswich Pompey if we get through against MK and the skates that would take us up to 60 games for this season!!
Wurzel Posted 25 January, 2010 Posted 25 January, 2010 On a similar theme (was going to start a new thread but can't.) If we beat MKD will we also set a new record as the ONLY team ever to have played in ALL five domestic professional finals ? FA Cup League Cup Charity Shield Zenith Data Systems /Simod Whatever other names it had Cup Johnstones Paint / LDV / Football League/ Whatever other names it had Trophy

gaz Posted 25 January, 2010 Posted 25 January, 2010 if we get through against MK and the skates that would take us up to 60 games for this season!! ST holders will have gotten excellent value for money this season then! I wish I could have joined in and bought one.
Right sider Posted 25 January, 2010 Posted 25 January, 2010 We have done something this season in the cup that we have not done since 1976, but what?

And most of these at home! Great that the fans have had the chance to show the new owners their passion, and that they have responded by investing the extra gate money back in the playing staff.
ericofarabia Posted 25 January, 2010 Posted 25 January, 2010 We have done something this season in the cup that we have not done since 1976, but what? Presumably you mean just The Fa Cup .... remain unbeaten?
Jimmy_D Posted 25 January, 2010 Posted 25 January, 2010 We have done something this season in the cup that we have not done since 1976, but what? Beaten a team from a higher league than us.
saintkiptanui Posted 25 January, 2010 Posted 25 January, 2010 We have done something this season in the cup that we have not done since 1976, but what? Beat a team from a higher division, next.

St Marco Posted 26 January, 2010 Posted 26 January, 2010 If we beat Pompey we would of won 5 fa cup games. Which is the same amount needed to reach the final for a prem team.
