lobbster Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 bitting the bullet and getting a half season ticket, the only way to be sure of getting a pompey ticket. The club must nbe rubbing there hands as i imagine there will be a few people doing this
StuRomseySaint Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 If I get a second ticket, it is going to a bird who I know, she has only been to 1 game in her life, but she's fit... so that's my reasoning.
fish fingers Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 If i get two tickets as a result of being a ST holder i won't take anyone else. I'll enjoy the extra room.
saintwarwick Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 Personally I think ST holders should only get one chance, and then those who bought Ipswich and then restricted general sale. I'm not even biased, I'm not a ST holder, neither did I go to the Ipswich game. Me too and that's to be able to buy two tickets at the first opportunity. LOL and in my experience it would have meant for a more enjoyable match day experience sat next to some scrawny but mouthy 'wicked' hoody who struggled to identify a single Saints player. 2 tickets for ST holders should be made compulsory and increase that allowance by 1 for every continuous 5 years a st has been held. Lets reward real loyalty.

saintwarwick Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 Are you Luker in disguise? Seriously though, I agree with most of what you say. However, the new customer charter specifically deals with this issue: • Ticket prices for cup competitions will be agreed with the opposing club and published fully using the available club media. For home cup fixtures, season ticket holders will be given a priority period to claim their seat. Other tickets will be sold as published at the appropriate time Therefore I think we can safley say that ST holders will be offered ONE ticket (their own). Sooner or later someone will actually read the above. But there again........... It just states what the minimum a season ticket holder can expect, the club will decide on how the others will be distributed whether season ticket holders get the offer of more than one or not. Only time will tell and I for one would expect the offer of two tickets.
saintwarwick Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 I would like to know where all these people that are complaining about ST holders having two tickets each were when the going got tough, I have had my season ticket for 10 years and never left when times were bad, bet alot of people cant say the same on here ,and Season Ticket Holders were never given the reward that they were promised for being loyal even when you were sat next to some people that had paid a £1 for their ticket, its about time ST holders got something back for their loyalty though I do appreciate you dont have to have a season ticket to be loyal, I for one would get my two if offered and make sure it went to someone passionate about Southampton Football Club and not just there for the day out I agree with this, I remember last season when we were struggling to half fill our stadium, where were the fans then? To say we shouldn't get two tickets is hypocritical to say the least. If there are no tickets left for the JCL's then tough.

Our extra tickets are likely to go to those so called 'JCL's' too. Perhaps more so, because they wouldnt necessarily even be on the database. If I get a plus 1, it will be going to a big Saints fan, who through geographical inconvenience hasnt made it to as many games as he'd like. irishsaint83 Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 well if they give STH a choice of two tickets i will buy two and first person to reply to this can have it from me for face value. (only if they sell two to STH)

To say we shouldn't get two tickets is hypocritical to say the least. If there are no tickets left for the JCL's then tough. It does make me laugh when people go on about JCLs. If we have averaged 20k this season, and had 11k season ticket holders for the 1st half with an average away following of say 1.8k then we have had 7000 "extras" attending on average. Now obviously that is not the same 7000 each time, and is probably a mix of 12000 odd people who make some games but not others due to various reasons, financial / family / cant be bothered. When they all attend at the same time that is when we get the large crowds, like Brighton and Exeter (plus larger away followings). Of course there are some who haven't done games at all this season, but mostly it is just people who were members and now just attend as and when. That doesn't make them a JCL. And this whole panic is ridiculous anyway. Just make sure you get on the phone when they go on sale (after season ticket holders time has expired) I very much doubt in the week before the game there will be many on here begging for tickets. I have taken many a neutral to games over the seasons including games against Wycombe, Yeovil, Tranmere to name but a few this season so if I brought one for these surely they are entitled to one for this game, they do have to travel with me from the midlands and they do it several games a season without supporting the club. FWIW if I got the extra ticket it will be my daughter who will get it and shes a saints fan.

ericb Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 Every game we play I wish I could be there and sit and watch the results coming in, I am a passionate Saints fan and have been for 30 yrs since my father first took me to the Dell. I used to hold a season ticket for 10 yrs but my situation has changed. I now live a lot further away, I have less disposable income and I have a family which makes it very hard for me to attend games. I have to choose over the season which games to attend because of this. I will do my damndest to get a ticket for this game and I can't wait to get the chance to see my beloved saints again but if for me going someone else doesn't it is ridiculous to state that I'm "not a real saints fan" and to be honest I don't care. I hate all this "I'm a better fan than you because I'm able to attend more games than you." I chose to be in my current situation but that does not mean I shouldn't get a ticket if I fancy going. There will be a lot of people taking there partners who may not be as committed as you should they also not be able to attend? It is a ridiculous thing to say and at the end of the day it's about filling the ground and cheering the team on. I think you might've missed the point a touch, the ones who i'm worried won't make it are people like this I'm bricking it on getting tickets: I've been to 6 homes and 6 aways so far (including tonight!) and around a dozen games a season since relegation ('Where were you when we were 5hit?'). If the club do go down the route of ST+1 and then count back on the FA Cup games (I haven't been to any) then I can't see myself getting anywhere near a ticket; a lot of people will be pretty ****ed if it is ST+1 as loads of regular fans will have to watch on telly as we have a stadium that is 50% full of: partners/hangers-on/plastics/JCLs/best-mates-never-been-to-a-game/neutrals (the number of posts on here saying 'My Man U mate has asked me to get him a ticket' is a joke). now if someone brings their mate who's interested, or someone that's not been for a while but wants to go cause it's a big game and a person like that doesn't make it then they should be ashamed. Personally what i want is the best atmosphere possible in a totally full stadium, and if the +1's aren't going to contribute then **** them. Why should i pretend to be apologetic about not wanting them there? There are plenty that deserve to go that potentially won't because of people bandwagon jumping and that is a disgrace
Saint_clark Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 "My Man U mate has asked me to get him a ticket". They can ask all they f*cking want, anybody who doesn't buy a ticket for a Saints fan is a tw*t IMO.
Griffo Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 I've been to every home game bar one, and every away game bar 4 I think, so I will be quite ****ed off if I don't get a ticket.

They can ask all they f*cking want, anybody who doesn't buy a ticket for a Saints fan is a tw*t IMO. Agreed I go to games with a few people who are all Saints fans. But have had a few texts/calls from people who are not Saints fans, even a few Pompey fans wanting me to try and get them a ticket. I told them if i get an additional one it will be going to one of those who have been to the games with me. Would much rather Saints fans who have been there through the ****storm of last season got a ticket ahead of those who simply could not be arsed to go.
