Smirking_Saint Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 Hmm, well, i was on my way to birmingham when i heard the news and went through a few emotions. 1st. WOW THE SKATES AT HOME !!!! GET IN 2nd. Well, is it that good a result, i mean, they will prob beat us, then they will have the bragging rights. 3rd. But, hell, what if they do beat us ?? We are a league one team with nothing to lose, and i actually think we could win !! 4th. But can i put up with the crap if we do lose ?? Anyways, wow, i'm not sure where my head is at but i think i am happy lol
Made in Southampton Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 Print these out and hold em high at the game. Done. I fact I might just get this puppy laminated. lol
RedAndWhite91 Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 Nice one! I'm sure a few people would hold it up! It needs a bit of touching up but if there is enough interest... I'm coming back to the UK for this game, I simply have to. I cannot miss this. Yeah you should PM her, I'm sure people would hold them up, would be quality. And good for you mate, that's commitment!
saint lard Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 Don't understand why some people think Pompey won't exist in 3 weeks. They may be in admin, but I seem to remember that didn't stop us existing. Even if (and its a big if) HMRC are successful with their winding-up order, Pompey will at least appeal. They will exist in 3 weeks time, they may be in admin and minus 9 points but there is zero chance that we will get a bye. They may also have their transfer embargo lifeted this week. I know I'm not the only one, but really I would rather have not got Pompey this season. If we get beat can you imagine the stick we will get, and whether you like it or not they can still beat us comfortably as they did yesterday against Sunderland. This.

Yorkshire Saint Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 You BEAUTY ! Shoot the pompey scum and support the Saints !
Crab Lungs Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 Yeah you should PM her, I'm sure people would hold them up, would be quality. And good for you mate, that's commitment! As committed as I can be from Andalucia Cheers
.comsaint Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 Anyone for a replay? Night game at Fratton Park?
dan17 Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 I was praying for the home draw..i could see her hand fumbling our ball...i shouted "keep hold of it ffs" lol - exactly the same!!!
JustMike Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 this game is going to be huge! New owners first taste of a derby game, lets hope the players are aware of what it means, coyr!!
FMPR Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 Anyone for a replay? Night game at Fratton Park? I think it will go to a replay personally
Thedelldays Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 sounds bad. but now the dust has settled...im not too confident of winning at all.. they will have (or most of) Kaboul Utaka Boateng Belhadj Dindane Yebda some real pace in there...against jaidi and perry....hmmmmmm
Andy_Porter Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 this game is going to be huge! New owners first taste of a derby game, lets hope the players are aware of what it means, coyr!! I'm sure the English lads will be, hopefully Hammond, Wotton, Davis etc drum it into the likes of Schneiderlin and Waigo how big a game this will be for us all. They won't have been in the country long and might not understand how much it means to us. I'm sure after walking down the tunnel and hearing the noise they'll understand. I can't wait...

Thedelldays Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 If Coventry can cause them problems and keep them quiet there's no reason we can't. most of those players did not play against cov

They won't have been in the country long and might not understand how much it means to us. I'm sure after walking down the tunnel and hearing the noise they'll understand. I can't wait... Not like pompey's mercenaries will have any better understanding. We easily have more players who've come through the youth system and/or British-based players. A dream tie.
Simon_UK Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 Pompeys winding up petition is due to be heard on the 10th Feb, so they may well be in administration before they play us
Andy_Porter Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 most of those players did not play against cov Boateng and Utaka both played, Belhadj isn't first choice and Kaboul is getting sold. I'm not going to spend the next three weeks worring about Aruna Dindane and Hassan Yebda. The chances are their squad will be made a lot weaker over the next week.

We easily have more players who've come through the youth system and/or British-based players. A dream tie. I really hope you're right. There's the chance for some one out their to make themselves an over night hero in the 13th, just hope someone take's that chance.
lobbster Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 Cant wait for this, the perfect draw. All those saying they didnt want this are ****ing mental!
ooohTerryHurlock Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 sounds bad. but now the dust has settled...im not too confident of winning at all.. they will have (or most of) Kaboul Utaka Boateng Belhadj Dindane Yebda some real pace in there...against jaidi and perry....hmmmmmm How many of these will be left after the transfer window?? They will be there for the taking I'm going for our favourite score this season..... 3-1 COYR
S-Clarke Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 most of those players did not play against cov The cup games always bring out the extra 10% - look at Notts county pushing wigan to a replay, scunny making it tough for city and then leeds efforts v spurs and man u. You'd have to say all those prem teams have better squads than pompey too. and with it being a derby as well, i very much doubt you'll see the gulf in divisions. It will be played at 100mph and if you're not up for it, you'll be left behind. It will be very very tight and i wouldn't be surprised if it ended in a draw.
St Chalet Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 Pompeys winding up petition is due to be heard on the 10th Feb, so they may well be in administration before they play us If they are wound up, they will be liquidated there and then.
Simon_UK Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 If P*mpey go out of business before February 13th, do we get a bye to the quarter finals?
S-Clarke Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 If they are wound up, they will be liquidated there and then. they should just let us beat them as a goodbye present.
Whitey Grandad Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 If P*mpey go out of business before February 13th, do we get a bye to the quarter finals? I can't think of any other outcome.
scotty Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 Doubt we'll win but f**k me the skate c**ts are gonna get abused!! such words from a saints fan!! defeatism of the worst kind, of course we'll win:cool:
vicky Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 Oh s**t I'm working that weekend. Heres hoping for an evening KO...
scotty Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 this game is going to be huge! New owners first taste of a derby game, lets hope the players are aware of what it means, coyr!! I'm guessing that somebody, somewhere might drop them a hint;)
View From The Top Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 Oh s**t I'm working that weekend. Heres hoping for an evening KO... Not a chance. 12.30 on a Sunday.
*Halo* Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 Awesome draw! I just knew it would be Saints Pompey. How could it not have been? You can just imagine it; after all they've been through, and possibly the worst for them still yet to come from the HMRC court case, and their last ever game is a defeat at Southampton! They'd have to live with that for the rest of their lives.
Fan The Flames Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 What an amazing draw; as more and more balls came out and we and them were left in the pot the excitment of the possibility built and when the third to last ball came out I just exploded. The fun of this season just grows and grows.
Spudders Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 Oh s**t I'm working that weekend. Heres hoping for an evening KO... Not a chance. The local plod will want this at lunchtime to gives fans very little drinking time!

WGC Saint Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 Bring it on. Thank you God. I was at SMS the last time we played the Skates there in that hugely enjoyable victory with Pahars scoring a beauty. They've yet to beat us at SMS and the FA Cup being what it is, expect an upset. Tickets may be like gold dust but I imagine it will be on telly anyway. Can't wait..........

surrey1saint Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 To say I am excited by this game would be a huge understatement.....COYR!!!
SNSUN Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 YES!!! If I don't get a ticket for this, I'm going to ****ing kill all of you and steal yours! There will be a few break-ups this Valentines weekend, I can see it now. Stuff the missus, I'm going to this game!!! Poopey, time to show you how we do it in League One. Just to give you a little taste for when you're at this level.

croydonsaint Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 We are in a no lose situation. If we go out next round to a premier league club, we have still done well above par. If we win................well imagine how there fans will feel. If they win, big deal they should be beating league 1 teams. Perfect draw. Perfect time.

That's all very well & good - but try looking (top right) where I currently live! Losing would mean my life is no longer worth living...
niceandfriendly Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 Wow. What an incredible draw. I shouted at the top of my voice as the number one was read out first whilst driving up the M3. We've got nothing to lose. Even if Pompey beat us, which they may well do quite easily, it won't matter. We'll still have a brilliant evening mocking them - we'll come out on top whatever the result. This is the very reason we don't want Portsmouth to go out of business however. You can't beat this sort of excitement. There is nothing better than a derby game. Can't bloody wait.
croydonsaint Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 That's all very well & good - but try looking (top right) where I currently live! Losing would mean my life is no longer worth living... I dont think it will happen, but if it does i think they will have bigger things [like if they still have a club to support] to worry about.

If we get beat I will be most annoyed, I'm not going t think, ah well we've done well, nevermind.

Why would i want to be annoyed if we lose? Assuming we have given our all [which the team will] i will blank it out and think it no shame to be beaten by a premier league team. I will blank out that the premier league club was portsmouth. I will focus on the coming games. If i really have to i will take hypnotherapy............... But if we win [and i think we will] No lose situation....... coyr.
Saint Malc Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 With the arse going out could we have an outside chance of being the first third tier team to win the cup?
Colinjb Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 With the arse going out could we have an outside chance of being the first third tier team to win the cup? I love the sentiment, but ultimately, no mate.
