Ref Today

Thought he was excellent. Often enough officials get a real slating, the lino on the itchen wasn't the best but thought the ref made some excellent decisions today. Looked like he may lose control in first five but recovered very well so hats off.

best use of advantage I've seen and he did it three times. Very good. Can we have him every week?

Have to agree, he was fair, tried to play the advantage and was usually in a good position. The Itchen Lino was pants - got overruled at least twice by the ref. For me the only thing he didn't clamp down on was the persistent jumping on top of Rickie by their number 4 - but then Rickie is extremely good at backing in!

He read the dis-allowed goal well. We were sat right behind the throw in taker and the ball missed everyone and went into the net without a touch. Takes a strong ref to rule that out as I imagine from another angle it would look like a goal.

I was unsure to start with but do feel he was fair and had a good game, we have had much much worse than that this season!

He didn't start off too well with a couple of poor decisions but aside from that I think he had quite a good game. Nice to see that there are some sensible refs out there.

Completely agree with this. The ball missed everyone. I don't know why Solent were calling it controversial afterwards.
