EastleighSoulBoy Posted 23 January, 2010 Share Posted 23 January, 2010 Right, I am going to purchase a 42" HD TV, I think 1080p is the way to go but which, in your esteemed opinions, is the better. LCD or Plasma? I'm on a budget and really don't want to go over £700 as I want to get the kids a PS3 (and all the stuff with it). So I'll not need a Blu-ray player. I await your verdicts. mynameisthehulk Posted 23 January, 2010 Share Posted 23 January, 2010 Most AV types would say Plasma at that size, I think its all down to personal preference, I would go and have a look round some shops and see what you like the look of. I assume you would watch a lot of sport so I would look for something with a refresh rate of 100 hz or more to reduce motion blur and judder. Plasma - http://www.richersounds.com/product/plasma-tv/panasonic/viera-txp42s10/pana-txp42s10b Only 40" but a great LCD at this price - http://www.beyondtelevision.co.uk/samsung-le40b650-40-hd-ready-lcd-television-with-freeview.html?src=feed&ptnr=googlebase&%24%24tid=yMBmMOPpUR1uYJ9GQc4CxLdoXguQL1q4KtsBk1xYFZDfvkmnxZGSr-nmsFUR4j0g

EastleighSoulBoy Posted 25 January, 2010 Author Share Posted 25 January, 2010 Thanks for your input so far. I don't want to go larger than 42" because of the space allocated for the TV, it would throw the balance of the room out.
