The two strongest players in our midfield are unavailable..we nned everyone who's qualified to play in cup games. At least Gillett can't play for Donnie if he moves back..they're in the 5th round , too.

I think this is the crux of the matter. We need somebody who is really going to make an impact in midfield, somebody with a presence. The way Carlton Palmer played in his first season for us is the kind of thing we need.

shurlock Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 Only willing to make a judgment based on a full match - each time he's come on -Millwall, Birmingham, Ipswich- we've been hanging on or trying to close a game. Hard to find your feet in these conditions. Midfield is probably the hardest position to come into as the game is hurtling/happening all around you. Did enough last year to warrant a closer look, possibly even a start.

Rocker268 Posted 24 January, 2010 Posted 24 January, 2010 There wasn't really enough to judge, Antonio wasted a golden opportunity to put us 3-0 up though, had he passed it across the floor Gillett would have been able to tap it in comfortably I have always liked his attitude though so I reckon he deserves a bit more of a chance
