$$$ Posted 23 January, 2010 Share Posted 23 January, 2010 Time to enter the 21st Century mate Best telling that to Virgin (ex NTL, C&W, Videotron) in the hope they will update their f'ing useless network mate At least anyone with a clue has been getting it free... Not for much longer. Whole system going digital (hence the turn off of analog) and new cards arriving soon will mean all dodgy boxes will stop working. Whole system going digital (hence the turn off of analog) and new cards arriving soon will mean all dodgy boxes will stop working. REALLY? Wow, it's only taken what, 10 years to sort that out. Guess it is too much for Virgin to actually tell people living in these areas they have finally got round to upgrading. Just tried my postcode on the Virginmedia site. Still don’t live in a fibre optic area but can get their “brilliant” broadband down my phone. Don’t think so fookers :smt098
$$$ Posted 23 January, 2010 Share Posted 23 January, 2010 Just checked on digitalspy. This thread suggest http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=1148927&highlight=southampton there will be no upgrade, they are just turning off analogue and letting the network rot. What a useless company and I’ve just wasted my 3 daily posts on the ****s as well.
TNT Posted 23 January, 2010 Share Posted 23 January, 2010 Depends where you live in southampton as there will be digital upgrades overtime. I know a virgin engineer and they said it will be happening very slowly mind. Virgin reckon around 20,000 illegal boxes will soon be out of action in soton as well. Barney Trubble Posted 23 January, 2010 Share Posted 23 January, 2010 They are slowly going over to Nagra3 encryption across the country, they expect to be fully kitted out with the new encryption by the end of the year. Nagra3 has supposedly been cracked in Spain but I imagine it'll be a long time before it happens here. I think they are upgrading the North area first and then moving South. For those with a genuine box then as soon as you get your new card then the end is imminent for satellite receivers.
