Chez Posted 22 January, 2010 Share Posted 22 January, 2010 Chez it's a no brainer for me, sign somone proven at this level or keep someone one who is unproven at any level. fair point, but my question still remains, is Barnard a better player han Paterson who has just 5 starts to his name so no real opportunity to prove himself at this level. The fact he scored in the level above is neither here or there I guess, though I think if he had played all of last season we would have stood a far better chance of staying up. I'm looking forward to seeing Barnard tomorrow and hopefully putting all me concerns behind me when he shows me he is much much better than Paterson. Northant Saint Posted 23 January, 2010 Share Posted 23 January, 2010 its a silly question because YOU don't rate him? Well thanks for that. I didn't realise you opinion was fact. As regards your poll, it doesn't adress my question at all. Is Barnard actually better than Paterson is what I asked, not which player fans want. I was after responses from people that know what Paterson is all about and really know Barnard having seen him a fair bit. So thanks for you response. It was worthless. ok sorry for not answering you're question clearly enough. Yes, yes he is better.

One could just as easily question whether Doble is as good as Ronaldo, or Racine is as good as Maldini just because they haven't played and nobody knows what they're about. In reality Paterson hasn't played because a succession of managers didn't really rate him. It would have been nice if he'd stayed, but I don't think he was some wonderkid who could have matched the 17 goals Barnard has this season. It's crazy. Leeds are mahoosive. "Sad times to be a Leeds fan with the pair of ****s we have in charge." - Yeah, must be awful. Toadhall Saint Posted 23 January, 2010 Share Posted 23 January, 2010 Leeds could win absolutely everything and their fans would still moan. Some of the comments on that site are laughable - they just can't grasp the fact that we are still a better option than them even with the difference in league position. If they lose Beckford and do not replace (sorry for taking your replacement - not) then Leeds will stutter - I don't think they'll choke this time but they will stutter. Glasgow_Saint Posted 23 January, 2010 Share Posted 23 January, 2010 Leeds are a boring club - stuck in the past, still convinced they are 'one of the big clubs' While Bates is at Leeds they will go no further than the CCC! Toomer Posted 23 January, 2010 Share Posted 23 January, 2010 Barnard made the correct choice, if he gets 12 goals for us in the remainder of the season in the league I would be happy with that.

Saint_clark Posted 23 January, 2010 Share Posted 23 January, 2010 Id like to see Barnard and Lambert play for England at this years World Cup. I think this is very realistic - who else does? When Capello took the job he said he would be picking players on their form and ability, not their name or what league they played in - he picked Joe Lewis from league 1 in one of his games - so if Lambert can keep up this scoring record and get over 40 goals he SHOULD be in with a chance. Unless of course, Capello was just saying that because it was the right thing to say.

Real Madrid and Portsmiff....I hope all this transfer talk does not interfere with our Wemberlee or promotion chances...or even their call up for the World Cup Squad. Heskey is like a latter-day john barnes, every england manager feels he just has to take him, either to spite the fans or for fear of seeming weak in the face of public opinion
