Kingsland Codger Posted 21 January, 2010 Share Posted 21 January, 2010 I see Kayne McClaggon has recovered from his injury and is back training. Another possibility for the bench over the coming fixture pile-up.

shurlock Posted 21 January, 2010 Share Posted 21 January, 2010 Really wouldn't be the biggest surprise announcing a signing today! pards knows he needs someone!!! Can't see there's much pressure before Saturday given anyone coming in is likely to be cup-tied.
martel Posted 21 January, 2010 Share Posted 21 January, 2010 Agreed signing perminent or loan only option now!!! Straight red for morgan so thats 3 games out plus hammond out for at least another 3, we cannot rely on James and wotton alone for that long even if both did well tonight. I do not understand why AP does not give Jamie White a run out, he could fill this role and get goals, no doubt about it IMP.
bungle Posted 21 January, 2010 Share Posted 21 January, 2010 (edited) I would expect the Ipswich game to be an opportunity for Oscar Gobern, as a few others have stated. James - Thomas - Perry - Harding/Mills (illness permitting) Antonio - Wotton - Gobern - Lallana Or he could put Waigo on a wing (Edit: or Holmes), and move Lallana into the middle. Fort Tuesday less of an issue as Thomas- Fonte - Seabourne/Perry - Harding Edited 21 January, 2010 by bungle
yorkiesaint Posted 21 January, 2010 Share Posted 21 January, 2010 If Gillet is back then he may play. Pardew has shown he has no problems with throwing a new boy in. I guess because of the makeshift defence we will go for a 5 man midfield of Waigo Gillet Wotton Lallana and Holmes, with Gillet and Wotton sitting deeper. Smacks a bit of last season! Another possibility for the bench over the coming fixture pile-up. Yeah - I like the lad McLaggon whenever I've seen him...which isn't that much of course due to his serious injury. He looks very promising indeed & Pards would have seen little (if anything) of him because he's always been injured since his (Pard's) arrival as gaffer. Not sure how far Kayne is from staking a place on the bench tho?
West End Saint Posted 21 January, 2010 Share Posted 21 January, 2010 We need to go and buy someone today if at all poss Stock or Danns or both and Barnard as well come on Saints lets mean business get these 3 in and we have a top quality squad with quality cover for every position and would give us the best squad in the league imo. James & Wotton can fill in for Saturday for me Tuesday is the more important game and we will need some new faces all league games are must win to keep the play off dream alive
The Incongruous Monk Posted 21 January, 2010 Share Posted 21 January, 2010 James must be pretty close to 5 yellows if he's not there already. Are we sure he's available?

Thedelldays Posted 21 January, 2010 Share Posted 21 January, 2010 Really wouldn't be the biggest surprise announcing a signing today! pards knows he needs someone!!! maybe he might do his work on the training grounds and get gobern up to speed...rather than throw money at a small problem

Thedelldays Posted 21 January, 2010 Share Posted 21 January, 2010 Do you think he is anywhere near ready though? If so, why not? Not seen him enough to be honest how much do you expect us to spend...? we have spent an utter fortune for league 1 already....with probably the biggest squad...maybe pardew could give gobern a game against ipswich....who cares if we lose.. Give it to Ron Posted 21 January, 2010 Share Posted 21 January, 2010 ...who cares if we lose.. All those people who have bought a ticket??
Andy_Porter Posted 21 January, 2010 Share Posted 21 January, 2010 ---- James - Wotton Waigo - Lallana - Antonio ------- Lambert I think Antonio would be a better option from the left, his crossing isn't up to much and he looks better when he cuts in side and just runs. The three advanced midfielders can basically spend the whole game switching around and we can easily swap to 4-4-2 when needed.
forever a red and white Posted 21 January, 2010 Share Posted 21 January, 2010 for me its a no brainer, pay the money and get Stock in!!! for that matter, get Danns in as well! can we stop obsessing about brian bloody stock please. Just because we have been linked with him. There are other midfielders out there, can bring in a loan if we get desperatley short in the middle

Andy_Porter Posted 21 January, 2010 Share Posted 21 January, 2010 Is seaborne not cuptied? Mills, Waigo and Gobern probably all deserve a run out and wouldn't really disrupt the team too much. I'd be inclined to give Paterson a start, let Lambert have a break.
S-Clarke Posted 21 January, 2010 Share Posted 21 January, 2010 Team news for Saturday - #Saintsfc have Radhi Jaidi back for FA Cup tie v Ipswich. Andy_Porter Posted 21 January, 2010 Share Posted 21 January, 2010 Strange that Connolly is still out, I wonder what the thinking was behind putting him on the bench against Millwall.
SaintDonkey Posted 21 January, 2010 Share Posted 21 January, 2010 I would give gobern, mills, holmes, seaborne amd waigo a games against ipswich I'd go for 'fringe' players all round - if we're going to get to the play offs we're going to have to blood a few more line ups as injuries and suspensions catch up with us (as they have!). ---------------------Bart Thomas----Lancashire----Perry-------Mills Antonio----Wotton----Gobern------Holmes -------------Paterson--Connolly/Saga Subs: Forecast, Saga, Saville, Boyle, Doble and any other youth teamers with squad numbers you can think of.... My selection might be slightly coloured by the fact I'm going to have to miss the game, but I honestly think this team could give Ipswich a run for their money

krissyboy31 Posted 21 January, 2010 Share Posted 21 January, 2010 Good news on Jaidi. Means that Thomas can stay at RB and James in MF. Hopefully Harding will also be fit, although I thought Mills played well last night.

Andy_Porter Posted 21 January, 2010 Share Posted 21 January, 2010 I'd let Mills retain his place. He played well and Harding could do with a rest. Davis Thomas - Jaidi - Perry - Mills James - Wotton Waigo - Lallana - Antonio Lambert Maybe consider Paterson instead of Lambert.
Window Cleaner Posted 21 January, 2010 Share Posted 21 January, 2010 Suddenly our so-called 'bloated' squad seems very thin... Well half of it isn't really even League 1 standard.Although if I were running the club I'd be tempted to ask Gillett (or Doncaster) where they are with that move and if it's going nowhere get him back here for the 2 league games that Morgan (and Hammond) will miss.I do not believe in tarting about.
