16 months for eye-gouging, cant complain at that. I always find it uncomfortable seeing eye gouging, completely unneeded and very dangerous. Should send a message to everyone in Rugby.

 

Wish the same could be said for football at times, especially seeing Henry get let off at his hearing yesterday (although its not hurting anyone and I did :smt081 at the Irish). Or seeing Joey Barton get some 6 game ban or however rubbish his was.

I think this was the second time that Attoub has been found guilty of gouging. This coupled, with his plea of 'not guilty' caused the severity of the ban, as the Judicial Officer decided that he was trying to shirk responsibility for his actions. To be fair, he's got a point too. Gouging is unacceptable and hopefully this will help to stamp it out.

 

Incidentally, he's the second player from Stade to be banned for gouging in the same game, on the same player. Not sure what he'd done that didn't endear himself them.
