Kingsland Red Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 Hosted by Jonathan Pearce and featuring Murty. On South Today when questioned about Pompey's plight, Mr Pearce mentioned that the EPL fear a far bigger club (than Pompey) will go under by the end of the year. Football is slowly coming back to the community clubs.
Saint_clark Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 Being in Weymouth I will most likely get south west, won't I?
Kingsland Red Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 Covered by the same programme I believe, as Mr Pearce mentioned it also covers Bristol clubs.
NickG Posted 18 January, 2010 Author Posted 18 January, 2010 Being in Weymouth I will most likely get south west, won't I? checked - looks like you are ok http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcone/programmes/schedules/south_west
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 I'm in London so obviously won't be able to get it but did I read somewhere that it's going to be on iplayer?
Ponty Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 Looks like I get the same programme in Oxford, too. Brilliant. ITV's version was the midlands one in this region with Stan ****ing Collywobble.
Block 5 Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 ITV's version was the midlands one in this region with Stan ****ing Collywobble. No doubt with his weekly guide to dogging and woman battery.
SNSUN Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 Stupid BBC London. Stupid living in Surrey. Stupid Stupid Stupid.
ribbo Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 Football is slowly coming back to the community clubs. fantastic, im all for this.
NickG Posted 18 January, 2010 Author Posted 18 January, 2010 Stupid BBC London. Stupid living in Surrey. Stupid Stupid Stupid. iplayer?
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 hmmmm it is certainly on iplayer, but whether or not watching it there will still be regionally restricted is unclear. http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pressreleases/stories/2010/01_january/12/late3.shtml
Ado Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 if you have sky bbc1 south will be channel 991 or something so problem solved
eesti matty Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 hmmmm it is certainly on iplayer, but whether or not watching it there will still be regionally restricted is unclear. http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pressreleases/stories/2010/01_january/12/late3.shtml They usually show the London programmes, but when I was using TV Catchup last week, they had Meridian.
It's There Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 if you have sky bbc1 south will be channel 991 or something so problem solved many thanks from someone stuck in the middle of nowhere (West Mercia near Wales!)
SNSUN Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 iplayer? I love the BBC and their "ideas"! Of course.
Ewell Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 If you have Sky then you can should be able to pick up any BBC region! http://www.stevelarkins.freeuk.com/skytv_bbc_regions.htm
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 If you have Sky then you can should be able to pick up any BBC region! http://www.stevelarkins.freeuk.com/skytv_bbc_regions.htm Yep, I've got the BBC South version on the sky planner.
so22saint Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 Hosted by Jonathan Pearce and featuring Murty. On South Today when questioned about Pompey's plight, Mr Pearce mentioned that the EPL fear a far bigger club (than Pompey) will go under by the end of the year. Football is slowly coming back to the community clubs. My mate works in corporate recovery and says that Liverpool are ****ed. Man U are pretty screwed at the moment as well - if they hadn't sold Ronaldo they would have made a 47 million loss this year, and their interest payments on their debt are 80 million a year! Very strong brand but so were Lehman Brothers & Woolworths
Saint_clark Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 I've said for ages now that if Liverpool don't finish in the top 4 then they will go under.
stardustonmyfeet Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 Mr Pearce mentioned that the EPL fear a far bigger club (than Pompey) will go under by the end of the year. Crystal Palace was my immediate thought, but surely the Fonte cash should keep them afloat a bit longer. Perhaps he's referring to Notts County? or Gillingham?
James Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 why would the Premier league care about Notts County or Gillingham going under? He clearly means a Premiership team.
S-Clarke Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 Crystal Palace was my immediate thought, but surely the Fonte cash should keep them afloat a bit longer. Perhaps he's referring to Notts County? or Gillingham? He was referring to a ''big'' premiership team, i.e top 4. i'd say liverpool...
Winchester_Saint Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 why would the Premier league care about Notts County or Gillingham going under? He clearly means a Premiership team. Perhaps he was indicating that Palace, Notts County and Gillingham are all bigger clubs than Pompey
stardustonmyfeet Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 I was taking the ****... of course it's liverpool
Saint_clark Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 I was taking the ****... of course it's liverpool Don't worry, I got the joke at least.
Huntingdon Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 Whilst I wouldn't want any supporters to go through what we went through last summer, part of me would love Liverpool to seriously hit the buffers
Sheff Saint Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 Any chance all the regions will be available on the red button? Virgin don't have BBC South and I'm not going to watch BBC North bang on about how amazing Leeds are.
Saint J 77 Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 Just about to start now, I'm looking forward to this!
shurlock Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 F**king Virgin and BBC london, who gives a monkeys about QPR...
CityRanger Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 Just a rehash of the Football league "highlights". What a load of sh!te.
dannysfc Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 I'm watching it atm and I'm liking it as well as I quite like Murty Tbh and as I was there at Millwall it was v annoying watching there goal going in again is hard to swallow but there we go! COYR!
DS Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 Whilst I wouldn't want any supporters to go through what we went through last summer, part of me would love Liverpool to seriously hit the buffers If a big club do go under it will be interesting to see how many of their glory hunting fans who don't live anywhere near the town will support whatever club comes out of the ashes (ie will Barry the Liverpool supporting 30something from Andover support AFC Liverpool or will he be down the Stamford Bridge gift shop quicker than you can say 'Johnny Come Lately').
RedAndWhite91 Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 Good to see Murty on there, and us getting a fair bit of airtime compared to the other clubs on there; it's alright.
CityRanger Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 Just a rehash of the Football league "highlights". What a load of sh!te. Take it all back! The Exeter/Tisdale bit was good. He's def worth keeping an eye on for us...
oxfordshire_saint Posted 19 January, 2010 Posted 19 January, 2010 I'm in North Hampshire and I'm getting the crappy London one, bah!
moon monkey Posted 19 January, 2010 Posted 19 January, 2010 Funny how you have never seen Paul Tisdale and Moby in the same room.
chocco boxo Posted 19 January, 2010 Posted 19 January, 2010 Bedrock of Football! rehashed rubbish IMO! Steggall has produced a show just like he used to be in!
shurlock Posted 19 January, 2010 Posted 19 January, 2010 Funny how you have never seen Paul Tisdale and Moby in the same room. I thought he was Jason Statham's camp little brother and Jason Statham is in denial.
Lets B Avenue Posted 19 January, 2010 Posted 19 January, 2010 Recorded our version and have just been fiicking thru the other regions. Yorks had a piece by Alistair McGowan taking, who supports Leeds and took off the likes of Wilkinson, O'Leary and Bates. However, they showed their goal against us last month, but had the recording the wrong way round. They showed a left foot shot into the top left corner and a Leeds player with 01 on his back. And before you ask, no drink or drugs consumed tonight.
Matthew Le God Posted 19 January, 2010 Posted 19 January, 2010 The South/South West one has too many teams to make it worthwhile. Will be the same in the other regions. Rarely will they do anything on Saints. I don't care about Torquay or Exeter etc. They should have made more shows across the country with fewer teams in each. Aldershot Bournemouth Brighton Bristol City Bristol Rovers Cheltenham Exeter Plymouth Reading Southampton Swindon Torquay Wycombe Yeovil Was far too diluted with so many teams over a vast geographical area to make it worth while or of interest.
Saint_clark Posted 19 January, 2010 Posted 19 January, 2010 They should just replace the show on saturday with this one, giving more time for each teams highlights.
Saint Without a Halo Posted 19 January, 2010 Posted 19 January, 2010 Crystal Palace was my immediate thought, but surely the Fonte cash should keep them afloat a bit longer. Perhaps he's referring to Notts County? or Gillingham? Surely he meant Waterlooville!
simonsaints1 Posted 19 January, 2010 Posted 19 January, 2010 Surely in this day and age, can't they just make people press the red button thingy so you can choose your footie region? When i lived in Andover we had Reading-who basically had a zero fan base in the town as it was mainly Saints.
ponto1963 Posted 19 January, 2010 Posted 19 January, 2010 http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00qb9ts/Late_Kick_Off_South_South_West_and_West_2010_Episode_1/ is the link i think
norwaysaint Posted 19 January, 2010 Posted 19 January, 2010 Well, if I live in Norway and I can select any BBC region, surely most people can?
ponto1963 Posted 19 January, 2010 Posted 19 January, 2010 If you live in Norway, you'll have to mask your IP to a UK one to watch it. BBC iplayer is UK only i think.
